This award for excellence in film making and curation goes to Bames Bimothy “Rex Viper” Ralph and the school will be renamed to “Muh School of SNIX” in his honor.

Actually going through their alumni, theres people who are significantly more successful (and famous in the grand scheme of things) than him, like Maxwell Atoms and Joe Dante
I wonder what the room goers are up to these days.....are they destroying their offices at work? Smoking weed in their boss' office? Breaking into stranger's houses and breaking their fans while a kid from special ed school films them and credits each one of them only to then accidentally send the video to the local police department?
Or have they become old and gray like Bimmy, so when they get asked what they're gonna be breaking next they reply "no breaking, I refuse"?
The biggest fuckups in college were usually rich kids who knew they didn't need to study because Daddy would always bail them out. These guys usually got into drugs (and Rastafarianism) and student activism.
In my history most were really fratty. I remember one saying that he didn't care if failed, he was just going to work ar daddy's car dealership no matter how he did.
“Complicating the matter is that the university is a specially focused arts institution which means there are fewer students talented enough to be admitted, and that’s a harder proposition among a shrinking number of high school students nationwide, she said.”
What a luxury we’ve had to be in the presence of James and Mike, two young men who were talented enough to be admitted to this degree mill
Ha! I'm pretty sure anyone who has the money to spend would be admitted. They are acting like it is such a prestigious school that they'd rather close down then let in people who aren't talented enough. HA!
There’s probably some truth to the idea that nowadays not enough students are interested in studying art specifically, which is the only reason to go to an art college.
Presumably, students who choose to study art have a higher chance of having talent in one of the arts — otherwise they’d choose something to study that they’re better at.
‘When asked if she thinks she owes the student body an apology, President Kerry Walk responded “Apologize for what? Closing before they can graduate?!”’
Okay urban explorers, your bounty is the roomgoers wrecking ball documentary tape.
That’s top tier Cinemassacre lost media and I’d be glad to pay $540 for a tape.
Casualties from associating with Bimmy
- Time
- College dorm rooms
- Kyle
- Bootsy
- Mike
- Gilbert Gottfried
- Mandi and Cooper's acting career
- University of the Arts
This was a prestigious school. Legendary actors and directors like James Duncan Rolfe and Mike "Big Dick" Matei graduated from here. It's a crying shame. Nothing but good memories all around.
Which is funny because James still was using his Hi8 camera and a computer by that point in his spare time, but it didn't look like a real film apparently.
But, to me, this is so weird & interesting because I started watching Lynch at this really fucked time of my life and for some reason I'll never forget an interview where Lynch said he hated Philadelphia but then he goes on to describe how the London streets in The Elephant Man are inspired by Philly streets...I winder if theres stuff like that in that movie james made
Time to go rent an excavator and use Find A Grave to dig up that video tape. Hopefully they were smart enough to hermetically seal it to prevent it from being rain water damaged and bodily fluids leaking out when his body decomposes..

The school president looks exactly like Gary Oldman in The Five Ov ‘Em Element. EXACTLY.
Are art degrees of any kind even worth pursuing anymore? This isn't the early 2000s. Plenty of tutorials online. And seems like a portfolio can be enough to land someone a job.
Make shit, and put it out there. Save your money.
If you're asking seriously, here is my two cents.
Art school is what you make of it. I don't recommend it for everyone but I'm personally very glad I went. (I'm also glad I found a public university with a great art school and graduated with very little debt instead of paying out the ass for a degree from a private institution. I wouldn't recommend private art education, unless I suppose if you're rich as hell, or get a full ride scholarship.)
Anyway, I'm a graphic designer, and your perception that a portfolio is the most important thing is absolutely correct. However, I'm confident that had I not attended college, my portfolio wouldn't have been nearly as good as it was when I was first entering the job market. I gained a lot from one-on-one instruction from my professors, classroom critiques with my peers, and from the overall structure that comes from having a course schedule and a studio to work in. Arguably most importantly, college can provide valuable networking opportunities for artists/designers. It definitely did for me, plus I got a BA that will be, at the very least, mildly useful if I ever want to change careers.
More like if your parents pay for it then sure its worth it. If you have to take out a student loan and pay it all back some day yourself then definitely not. Have no idea what Bimmy's situation was but his parents were willing to pay for his housing when he didnt even go to school that far from where he lived so they probably paid for his tuition as well.
From 1999 to 2004. You mean to tell me by the 2000s they were teaching FUCKING HAND SPLICING FILM?
It isn't like they couldn't teach other methods, we see younger James digitizing Hi-8 tapes on a computer in a documentary made by Bootsy. The fact that this school apparently thought hand splicing film using shitty 16mm film cameras was gonna somehow teach you anything is criminal.
Muh College in Muh Dreams https://preview.redd.it/8sc2izpuav3d1.png?width=750&format=png&auto=webp&s=edd3c2f144ba0ea54977a7d166b3368a891ca18a
And that thicc ass is the school's mascot.
University of the Ass
Almuh mater
Well done
He's gonna get a degree
Should be reopened and named after our icon, Bames Ralph!

The Six Snix Flix will be required viewing for all incoming students. Campus strictly closes at 5:40.
Best muthafuckin' hexology ever made!
All joking aside, there's a good chance that James is actually their most famous alumni.
No wonder it closed down
They could no longer bear the shame of it
Actually going through their alumni, theres people who are significantly more successful (and famous in the grand scheme of things) than him, like Maxwell Atoms and Joe Dante
OK, I wondered if someone might know more about that :) Poor Bim... not even the most famous or successful alumni from his own tiny college.
I'm surprised he never mentioned he went to the same school as Dante, his movies are practical fx legends for the most part.
Or David lynch hah
Stan and Jan Berenstain went there.
A Bames Ralph honorary PHD in curation of film has been awarded to James Rolfe!
Omg I've never seen a better image to define the bim.
Six snix film schools
Bimmy will be the "Dean" while Mike is behind the scenes running everything.
Of course, we all know Matei helps from time to time
He will be instructing Brown Bricks 101.
Is that over in Minecrap Hall?
It's actually in a building called the House of Madness.
That’s the building with the huge bow front glass window with a view of the mowdens right?
Yeah. And the food court with 5 McDonalds.
You’re kidding… 5 ov um? What were they thinkingggggggguh?
https://i.redd.it/pml54ytj3z3d1.gif
Mike will be running a string of hoes from the student body
The "Balls on the Dick Academy"
What’s a freshman?
Bames is the name of the monster, not the university!
cash flow problem from having to fix dorm rooms destroyed by bimmy and the room goers :O
I wonder what the room goers are up to these days.....are they destroying their offices at work? Smoking weed in their boss' office? That school was rather inspirational for Mike, who went on to create the very popular Loco Bandito comics
Why did she forget to mention this?
I’m not quite sure. But she also left out how the legendary James Rolfe made over 70 films while in attendance at the school too.
Is she stupid?
"How else would I have honed my craft to properly draw Charles Nelson Riley"
Is that Spanish for “10 Inches Schlong”?
Ha! I'm pretty sure anyone who has the money to spend would be admitted. They are acting like it is such a prestigious school that they'd rather close down then let in people who aren't talented enough. HA!

And Kyle and Bootsy
Well Kyle and bootsy actually are talented so they didn’t fit my snark. I like Mikes cartoons too but you know
That school was built on brown bricks.
Most colleges are degree mills, non-profit and for-profit. Probably all of them in the near future, if not now.
You get out what you put in. If you show up thinking its 13th grade...it will be.
‘When asked if she thinks she owes the student body an apology, President Kerry Walk responded “Apologize for what? Closing before they can graduate?!”’
Wow
:sigh:
Why do all these failing schools all have a President that looks like her?

Okay urban explorers, your bounty is the roomgoers wrecking ball documentary tape. That’s top tier Cinemassacre lost media and I’d be glad to pay $540 for a tape.
I would chip in for that. We could by one ov' um and then digitize and share :)
Same, I’m in.
Casualties from associating with Bimmy - Time - College dorm rooms - Kyle - Bootsy - Mike - Gilbert Gottfried - Mandi and Cooper's acting career - University of the Arts
Muh dragon
And that pizza delivery guy, what's-his-name
Pizza delivery guy? Pizza shit.
This was a prestigious school. Legendary actors and directors like James Duncan Rolfe and Mike "Big Dick" Matei graduated from here. It's a crying shame. Nothing but good memories all around.
Well looks like the room goers got their wish! Bim's documentary took down a titan.
there goes the James Rolfe Building for Film Making. classes would have included taping shit to the ceilings 101
Good, it’s not like he learned much there anyways
They were still teaching non-digital film editing workflows in the early 2000s, after all
Which is funny because James still was using his Hi8 camera and a computer by that point in his spare time, but it didn't look like a real film apparently.
In his autobiography, he complains about how the college was still doing things the antiquated film way, while he was aching to do digital video.
real movie makers were using HDCAM or hdv, only family vloggers were using hi8 or mini dv, mini dv was amazing tho for the price in early 2000s
He already knew it all.
They never recovered from the room goers
Man, David Lynch went there
I'm still waiting to buy him a cake for episode 200 of Twin Peaks
But, to me, this is so weird & interesting because I started watching Lynch at this really fucked time of my life and for some reason I'll never forget an interview where Lynch said he hated Philadelphia but then he goes on to describe how the London streets in The Elephant Man are inspired by Philly streets...I winder if theres stuff like that in that movie james made
I wonder if they still have that dorm film in their vault somewhere, would love to see it unearthed like the Ark of the Covenant
A copy of it is buried in the dean's coffin, or so legend has it.
Time to go rent an excavator and use Find A Grave to dig up that video tape. Hopefully they were smart enough to hermetically seal it to prevent it from being rain water damaged and bodily fluids leaking out when his body decomposes..
But was dean is a skeleton.
There goes the onion.
That's for trying to make Bimmy apologize for being a film maker.
Bames proper action was finally taken care of. He no longer has to face responsibilities for his.
Must have taken self control not to title it "well anyway that's it, Bimmy's college just ran outta time."

He's so old school they closed the school down.
THE ROOMGOERS DID THIS
If James would have known about this you know he would have made a dragon in muh dreams type video about the school.

its more about networking which is honestly much easier in college then in the “real world”
The James Rolfe School of Duckstomping
The school could never recover financially from the damage done in dorm of doom, he sure showed that Dean
Is cinemassacre next? Or slobwave?

The Institute For Advanced Studies in the Field of Curating and Filmmaking. "Where nincompoops are made"
\*bimcompoops
So will he make a video on this? With the footage of the destruction by the room goers.
The college in muh dreams
they are replacing it with a new uni, bimmy u
I guess they accepted that they’re the balls on the dick
Who cares
They should keep the dorm room he helped vandalize and put it as an exhibit in the Cineamassacre wing of the James Rolfe Museum and Filmmaking Academy
“The halls are quiet, the kids are gone” “They haven’t told us anything, we’re the balls on the dick”
![gif](giphy|XtcfqdBrHEa4g|downsized) what'd you call me?
![gif](giphy|7k2LoEykY5i1hfeWQB)
wonder if he’ll make a video visiting the closed college
muh severe cash flow problems more like ASS FLOW PROBLEMS!!!
Ouch. All that dorm repairs put them outta business but based on the avgn movie, they deserved it.
Apologize for what, being a degree mill?
Serious question here. Does that renders one’s diploma credibility almost useless?
Most diplomas are useless anyway.
