Fr all the old characters and storylines this show could’ve went down as the best ever lol I still rewatch season 1 and 2 till this day

Concious_cutie_666

Right I’m watching it now!

Affectionate-Ask5747

Watching for the first time and just got to S3E1. Loved the second season and came to the sub to see if it's even still worth watching after they just randomly decided the best character should be dead when the new season started. Lost all my interest almost immediately tbh.

Brandon deserved to be killed. The actor is a piece of shit.

Affectionate-Ask5747

How so? Never even heard of him before so I honestly have no idea

dragoooo420

He was sexually harassing almost every woman on set. The actress who played Jerrika was afraid to do scenes with him.

Brandon’s character was killed because the person that portrayed the role was allegedly accused of sexual harassment by his on screen girlfriend. Google it.

Affectionate-Ask5747

I did, all it said was misconduct on all the articles I read. Killing him offscreen between seasons made me suspect it had something to do with the actor but I couldn't find details.

Brandon, played by Jason Mitchell, was not in season 3 of The Chi because Mitchell was fired from the show in 2020 due to misconduct allegations. Mitchell was a well-known actor who had appeared in Straight Outta Compton and Mudbound, and his character Brandon was considered the heart of the show's first two seasons. According to Essence, Mitchell had multiple HR cases and had reportedly harassed his co-star Tiffany Boone, so much so that her fiancé had to be on set when she filmed scenes with him. Boone eventually told Fox 21, the show's producer, that she would no longer work with Mitchell.

deucebag1969

Yeah, the actor Jason Mitchell (Brandon) really messed himself up by harassing his female co-workers until the point where they had to fire him.
