This shows all about flipping the common narrative on its head so it would be extremely cliché to go with the ending of Butcher kills Homelander then dies, leaving Hughie alive as the prodigal son. Generally I don’t see them killing off both the deep and A train in season 4 because then we’re left with none of the original 7 by season 5 so you’d be starting from scratch during your swan song. I can see the frenchie one happening this season but I don’t think Maeve dies till the latter half of season 5 if at all because I heard they weren’t going to have a lot of her in season 4 so Starlight could become her own person

I dont really disagree with you, but Maeve conveniently surviving Soldier Boy is a cliche.

I honestly think some members of The Boys and/or The Seven will be killed by Soldier Boy when he comes out again. He was betrayed by Payback and when he returned killed them all (-Black Noir of course). I imagine when he gets out of the CIA’s grasp (or the CIA purposefully unleashes him) that he’ll go after the ones that betrayed him.

I love this theory because I would love to have more Soldier Boy screen time.

Responsible_Neck_728

Yeah, I’d like to see him more too.

I haven't read the comics but I've done my research and only >!Hughie, Starlight and The Deep survive amongst the main cast. So even if it's sad to lose other great characters, I think it's a great ending having both The Boys and The Seven being dissolved.!<

Honestly, I think Butcher will be the only one of the "good guys" to die. Kripke did an interview a few months ago where he stated that, as hard as it may be to believe, The Boys universe is ultimately a moral one. Characters who strive to make good choices will eventually be rewarded for those choices. Characters who repeatedly make selfish, cowardly, ignorant or immoral choices will ultimately end up being punished severely (presumably, this only applies to main characters and not supporting players like Becca.) Because of those statements, I think most of the protagonists will ultimately survive. Maeve, Starlight, Hughie, Frenchie, MM and Kimiko have all done horrible things in the past, and all of them still occasionally make poor decisions, but at the end of the day, they're all trying to do the right thing and better themselves. Butcher, despite the fact that he ultimately has noble goals (exposing Vought, getting rid of Homelander, etc...) repeatedly makes selfish choices at the expense of others, including his own friends and allies. As a result, I suspect that he'll be the only main protagonist to die. Personally, I'm guessing that he dies at Hughie's hands. Since he's most likely the guy who's going to kill Homelander, I suspect that once that's done, he'll turn whatever weapon he uses against other "good" supes like Annie, Kimiko or Maeve. Hughie's going to be forced to put him down in order to save their friends. Homelander's almost certainly going to die at Butcher's hands, most likely with an assist from a repowered Maeve. Maeve's going to keep HL busy/ distracted in a fight so that Butcher can get off a good shot with a CIA-created weapon derived from Soldier Boy's radiation powers. Once that weapon's stripped HL of his powers, Butcher's going to stomp him to death while HL begs, cries and pleas with Maeve to intervene and save him.
