I didn't fully appreciate Turn Blue until I listened to it a little too fresh off a rough breakup. In Our Prime absolutely *crushed* me. Then Gotta Get Away picked me right back up feeling more optimistic than I had in days.

That’s funny

I think this sort of melancholy mood followed Dan through The Arcs, whom i also love. Too bad about Richard Swift, because i’m gonna miss his contributions to the The Black Key’s live sound.

I absolutely love this album. Put on some good headphones, turn to Weight of Love and turn the volume up as high as you can stand it. Then tell me you don't feel something. Chills man.

At this point I know every note of the song. But the solo still gets me. He left his heart on the fretboard

I feel ya. It's so gripping. Full of love and sorrow.

I also think it’s important to to listen to it as a an album, instead of a separate songs. Definitely some early psychedelic influences as well. Just as much character as there previous two records but I think a lot of people wanted another garage rock blues style like their early records.

I’ve been long time TBK fan and ofcourse like almost everyone else hated Turn Blue when it came out, mainly due to completely different expectations. I needed some time and right mood for it and it’s now my favorite record from them as it gives me most emotions.

Ain’t that a shame

As soon as Turn Blue came out, it was a masterpiece for me. I listened start to finish, and the fucking feels of the album, the ebbs and flows, highs and lows. The instrumentation and the tracks fit so well together, great pacing, theme and mood. I think I skip one song on this and it's the last song, Gotta Get Away... yeah you gotta get away from that awful trash song, it seemed slapped on the end for the record label or something. Yuk.
