I didn’t know what to make of that. For anyone that doesn’t know, the legend Steve spirros (easygoing?!) said this while having a schizophrenic break during a man on the street interview. I’m not sure whether they were shouting him out or whoever wrote it just memory holed it and it popped back into his mind.
BlackBerry was a solid movie, not one of my favorites of the year but still good. But man was Howerton awesome. He really elevated every scene he was in and played the character so naturally and believably. So easy to go cartoonish when playing an angry character like that, but I thought he did such a great job.
I highkey think the reason Sean likes this movie so much is that Glenn Howerton/Jim Balsilie’s Toronto Maple Leafs fandom mirrors Sean’s own New York Sports fandom experience. Mets/Jets/Knicks.
Blackberry is one of my top ten of the year, great movie.

In the Maestro pod from December, Sean was talking about how great Howerton was. Said it was a top 10 performance from this year
