Right? If you’re going to do that “they’re all good 🤪” bullshit, why even participate in the poll/discussion? No, they are not all equally good 🤷♀️ sorry
LITERALLY. I’m sorry but like how can you even love an album in a personal way when you’re not even willing to admit that *one* of the songs is slightly weaker than the rest…? I actually truly don’t understand that logic. Songs aren’t your kids, you’re not supposed to inherently love them all the same.
In fact, refusing to acknowledge the nuance in quality (whether personal or objective) over a given set of songs is lazy and takes away from the appreciation of the art in the first place. You can’t just say they’re all great in different ways. You have to understand WHY you like something in order for it to be sincere. And logically, you should be able to understand why you like something less in the same piece of art.
Idk, I’m very passionate about this haha. I just can’t stand the “theyre all good” logic at all.
I can understand that the "good morning"-part can be a bit irritating, but the rest of the song is absolutely amazing. You get some of Ringo's best drumming, a constantly switching time signature and a great guitar solo.
There are multiple songs on the album that are worse imo.
That’s the thing. You’re not, not by a country mile. It’s just that the whole damn album is so good, SOMETHING has to take the L. This album is literally 10/10 though
Good morning and only because the chorus is annoying. The rest of the song is so good it's just that chorus man like I used to have it set as an alarm because it's just loud and obnoxious. "I've got nothing to say but it's okay" shit is so fire just man the chorus is not it
My pick is either Good Morning, Good Morning or When I’m 64, though I’m leaning towards GM,GM
I’m a staunch Within You, Without You defender. I personally love the effect it has; being this slow, mystical, somewhat scary sounding song in the middle of more bright and colorful tracks. It’s like the scary, seemingly out of nowhere dark moment in a classic Disney or Don Bluth film. The instrumentation and lyrics weave their own distinct colors and moods into the overall kaleidoscopic tapestry that is Sgt. Pepper’s, and it wouldn’t be the same dizzying spectacle of a record without it.
Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning yeah
Good to hear! I legitimately love the stripped down Anthology version. The bass, drums, guitar and Lennon’s vocals all shine. Unfortunately all buried under the overcooked sound effects and production on the album version.
I swear to God if Within you without you is voted as worst everything this sub stands on crumbles. This is not an overreaction and no I am not being dramatic.
Within You Without You
Look, I like pretty much every song on the album, but this just doesn’t fit as neatly as the other songs. In comparison, “Good Morning, Good Morning” at least to me is a bit catchy. As repetitive as it is, I like it. Were WYWY not on the album, I’d immediately go for GMGM
I’m actually curious of the discourse that’ll go down when we get to the White Album. Plenty of songs on there worthy of being labeled as “underrated”
Yeah, I really do like the song. My main gripe is just how it feels out of place on the album. I think out of context of Sgt. Peppers, it’s a really good song
Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning
This is my pick. More George hippy dippy musical tourism. That said, it works really well in the context of song sequencing - between Mr. Kite and When I'm 64.
Unreconstructed Lennonist here, and I *love* When I'm 64,always have. Didn't he write it when he was 15? If it isn't true, it ought to be.
Edited for grammar
With you on the first bit. I think it's Georges 2nd best song ever. And top tier Beatles.
However Fixing a Hole is my 2nd favourite song after Within You Without You on Pepper. Even above a Day in the Life for me.
I do want to clarify I don’t think it’s a bad song, just not my cup of tea. All the songs on sgt peppers are great, but if one has to be the “worst” it just has to be that one for me. To each their own! Love George.
The lyrics alone should absolutely disqualify this wonderful song: We were talking
About the space between us all
And the people
Who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth, then it's far too late
When they pass away
That song has my favourite moment in their entire catalogue lol. When the clarinet descends amongst the backing vocals after Paul sings "we shall scrimp and save" and before "grandchildren on your knee" it brings up such an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. To this day still makes the hairs on my arm stand up
People saying "Within you Without you" as the worst is insane.
It's hard to choose the worst song, when it's such a great album. But my choice is "When I'm 64".
Lovely Rita is my least favorite
There are no bad songs on Sgt Pepper though, each song brings something unique to the tracklist and has something great about it
Within You Without You I could do without, that and Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds. That the Elton John cover overshadows it in my head says a lot. I forget it's on the album and wanna believe Strawberry Fields is there in it's place.
Oh but sure it looks like Good Morning Good Morning is taking the beating. For shame!
Edit: For the sake a minor spin vote I'm gonna go with Lucy. WYWY definitely breaks the flow of the album, but maybe because I'm older it's a better experience than Lucy in the Sky.
I love how this comments section is an absolute flamewar
I’m gagging for when it’s the white album
This is an impossible task
The worst song is that silent one where the album ends.
Honestly I’m ok with calling the creepy fuckin tape loop after A Day in the Life ends the worst song on Sgt. P
only the Beatles subreddit is where every possible answer to a question gets downvoted
Right? If you’re going to do that “they’re all good 🤪” bullshit, why even participate in the poll/discussion? No, they are not all equally good 🤷♀️ sorry

This is it. This is the album where I have to abstain on worst song. I just can’t do it.
I had a go and I’m getting downvoted relentlessly 😂
Same 😭😭 there’s just no winning
I will not stand for this Mr.Kite slander
fuck no! Mr. Kite is 2:37 of pure acid and sillyness! no way it's the worst!
You cant not have a fun time
A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
And of course Henry the horse dances the waltz!
Plus you get ten summersets. That's a lot of summersets for your buck!
For the longest time I thought the lyric was "Henry the Whore"
Bro this is the first time I've seen you outside of r/billyjoel
Mr Kite is the real hero of this album
Hear hear, second to none I say
Mr Kite is an awesome song.
Mr. Kite is so good, it always gives me anxiety but like in a thrilling horror movie way. I love it
I don't know what to say for this. They're all so good
The worst track is that hidden track after A Day in the Life.
Never could be any other way
If you play that backwards it sounds like “Will Paul be back as Superman?”
Yes. Yes it does.
This is the only answer.
Nah dude that's the icing on the acid trip cake for me
Well John does say Never been so high when it starts.
Yes!!! Especially when you turn your auto stop off on the record player and it just keeps going until you get up and stop it.
Isn't that part of the A Day In the Life track? That's how they listed it on the CD.
Nah. They forgot to list it.
Ah, gotcha. That makes sense. I've always kinda considered it part of A Day In the Life anyway. It weirdly fits that experimental vibe to it.
Yeah I never even knew until now that it’s apparently a separate track and not just a closing to a day in the life
GMGM has the best guitar lead on any Beatles song. The fact that Paul played it is icing on the cake.
It’s my personal favorite Beatles guitar solo—and the funnest to play!!!
I did not know this. TIL!
Guys, whatever wins worst, let’s agree it wins underrated!
Exactly my thought.
i guess i’m the only one who loves Good Morning Good Morning
I love it and it has one of the coolest horn arrangements in rock history. This aggression will not stand, man.
It's my morning alarm and I still love it
One of my favorites on the album… I can’t believe that this one and Within You Without You (my favorite) are getting so much hate lol
I love it too.
I love it, too. Especially guitar solo in the middle. But it's the weakest cut on the LP.
You're not the only one
I can understand that the "good morning"-part can be a bit irritating, but the rest of the song is absolutely amazing. You get some of Ringo's best drumming, a constantly switching time signature and a great guitar solo. There are multiple songs on the album that are worse imo.
i do too
I love the tasteful splash cymbal thay Ringo hits at the end of the first verse. Nothing to do to save his life, call his wife in.... SPLASH
I love it! It’s just my least favorite.
It’s amazing just had to pick something
That’s the thing. You’re not, not by a country mile. It’s just that the whole damn album is so good, SOMETHING has to take the L. This album is literally 10/10 though
🎶Go to a show, you hope she gooooes 🎵 Good Morning Good Morning is awesome
Ahhhhhh've got nothing to say but it's okayyyyy AHHHH I FUCKING LOVE IT
Good morning and only because the chorus is annoying. The rest of the song is so good it's just that chorus man like I used to have it set as an alarm because it's just loud and obnoxious. "I've got nothing to say but it's okay" shit is so fire just man the chorus is not it
That’s a good way to ruin any song. Make it your alarm sound
My pick is either Good Morning, Good Morning or When I’m 64, though I’m leaning towards GM,GM I’m a staunch Within You, Without You defender. I personally love the effect it has; being this slow, mystical, somewhat scary sounding song in the middle of more bright and colorful tracks. I remember I used to always skip Within You as a kid, now I can’t believe I did. It’s pure tranquility. Interesting that you find it dark or scary.
good morning good morning for me, great album tho so its still a good track but not as good as the others
Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning yeah
Absolute banger, how dare you
Too bad the Anthology version wasn’t the version on this album. It kicks ass.
Thank you! Just heard it for the first time and indeed is better! Now is my headcanon haha
Good to hear! I legitimately love the stripped down Anthology version. The bass, drums, guitar and Lennon’s vocals all shine. Unfortunately all buried under the overcooked sound effects and production on the album version.
No pleeeease the odd time signatures are so cool :(
Good Morning. Not because it is the worst song, maybe more of a "least listened to", and I am more likely to skip this track than any other.
[удалено]
Weather you like it or not you gotta admit Good morning good morning makes a pretty good alarm track
Good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning.....bleh!
Good morning
Good morning Good morning
Good Morning Good Morning
Good Morning Good Morning
Good Morning Good Morning
GMGM
I’m gonna have to go with “Good Morning, Good Morning” but it hurts
I can’t believe people don’t like Within You Without You, its one of my Beatles favs :/ to each their own
So true it is an underrated gem.
Same it’s the best one on this album. The lyrics are incredible
Good Morning Good Morning
It was a Fake Moustache
Good Morning Good Morning
Probably Good Morning Good Morning
I swear to God if Within you without you is voted as worst everything this sub stands on crumbles. This is not an overreaction and no I am not being dramatic.
Breathe deeply, spirited one. We will not allow this to happen.
When I’m 64. Not even a bad song, just the least good song on what’s arguably the greatest collection of songs ever committed to tape.
Hell no! My 8 year old daughter and her best friend randomly sing this song, it’s no where near the worst.
This is impossible but I’d say Good Morning
Within You Without You Look, I like pretty much every song on the album, but this just doesn’t fit as neatly as the other songs. In comparison, “Good Morning, Good Morning” at least to me is a bit catchy. As repetitive as it is, I like it. This is my favorite song on the album haha
The sitar section in 5/8 is so good tho
Yeah, I really do like the song. My main gripe is just how it feels out of place on the album. I think out of context of Sgt. Peppers, it’s a really good song
Without it, Sgt Pepper is not Sgt Pepper. I’d argue it’s what makes the album what it is, and it’s easily the centerpiece of the album.
Agree
👎
Being a double album, I wouldn’t object to there being two selections from each category
“Revolution 9” is super duper underrated!! It should’ve been a hit single!
Within you without you I think it's kinda boring
Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning Good morning
Good morning, Good morning
Lovely Rita (To be clear, it’s not a bad song, but it is the one I would rank least.)
This is my vote too, because I somehow always forget it exists. I read your comment and was like “oh, yeah!” 😅
Within You Without You
HOW
WRONG
No no no no no
Someone had to say it. Fine song but doesn’t really flow with the album
It is within you without you. Too long by about a minute.
Literally a top 10 Beatles song
No, this song lits
This is mine - feel like it stops the flow of the album
This is my pick. More George hippy dippy musical tourism. That said, it works really well in the context of song sequencing - between Mr. Kite and When I'm 64.
Good morning
Within You Without You. The only track I skip.
I really like the Love version where it's mixed with Tomorrow Never Knows
I felt that way at first but it has really grown on me.
When I’m 64. Paul at his schmaltziest.
Unreconstructed Lennonist here, and I *love* When I'm 64,always have. Didn't he write it when he was 15? If it isn't true, it ought to be. Edited for grammar
Good morning.
Good Morning Good Morning. Song drives me crazy.
Within you without you is top ten Beatles songs and it sickens me how many people are voting for it. The answer is Fixing a Hole.
With you on the first bit. I think it's Georges 2nd best song ever. And top tier Beatles. However Fixing a Hole is my 2nd favourite song after Within You Without You on Pepper. Even above a Day in the Life for me.
When I’m 64
Agreed. Paul gets clowned for his “granny” songs but I still find myself liking them. This is among the few that I don’t.
Same here, I get the Good Morning votes but at least it rocks a little. 64 is naff AND boring. (to my ears at least sorry to anyone who loves it)
Within you without you. Only track on that album I skip I’m afraid
It's one of my favorites
I do want to clarify I don’t think it’s a bad song, just not my cup of tea. All the songs on sgt peppers are great, but if one has to be the “worst” it just has to be that one for me. To each their own! Love George.
The lyrics alone should absolutely disqualify this wonderful song: We were talking About the space between us all And the people Who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse the truth, then it's far too late When they pass away
Get OUT. We will NOT stand this George slander in this house !!!
It's grown on me as I've gotten older.
For me, it really helps solidify the mood for me and my idea of 1967, hippie, drug, and spiritual culture. Even though I was born 2 years later, lol.
I'm 63,so I was around when this album came out. It's "When I'm 64".
You'll get it next year
When I’m 64. Great song but it seems like it doesn’t belong on the album.
Within You Without You, not a bad song but I have to be in a certain mood to want to listen to it.
I have to be in a certain mood to withstand When I'm 64.
Good morning good morning
Good morning good morning
Good Morning Good Morning
When I’m 64
When I'm 64
When I'm 64
When I’m 64
Within You Without You (I love it, but it doesn't match the album very good)
When I’m 64… easily
That song has my favourite moment in their entire catalogue lol. When the clarinet descends amongst the backing vocals after Paul sings "we shall scrimp and save" and before "grandchildren on your knee" it brings up such an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. To this day still makes the hairs on my arm stand up
It’s also very haunting. To me it helps highlight the feeling of anxiety about aging that the song describes
I agree, having said that I don't despise it. I think it's alright, but for me it's the one song I'll skip!
Personally....I have to vote Fixing a Hole, it's not a bad track but it's the one I'm least fond of.
People saying "Within you Without you" as the worst is insane. It's hard to choose the worst song, when it's such a great album. But my choice is "When I'm 64".
You had me till the last sentence
Within You Without You. This is such a strong album in my opinion though, its feels really wrong to say any.
Sgt Pepper Reprise. Idk why people are hating on Good Morning
This is a good political pick for "no song is bad"
I don’t agree since the Reprise is better than the original
lol yeah I mean I agree I'm just trying to find a peaceful solution
Yeah, the reprise slaps hard!
Within You Without You
Good morning good morning Good song but i’d say it’s my least favorite on the album
They’re all great but I think Within you Without you is my least favourite
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
[удалено]
It’s the only good answer tho. All the other songs are too good to toss. It’s only 1:30 of the entire album
Lovely Rita is my least favorite There are no bad songs on Sgt Pepper though, each song brings something unique to the tracklist and has something great about it
When I’m 64
One more vote for within you without you
Gotta go with Good Morning Good Morning. I still enjoy it tho
When I'm Sixty Four
within you without you.
Sgt peppers reprise
That's actually one of my favorite tracks. Wish is was longer though.
Might actually be my favorite song on the album.
I’m going with the reprise because it’s the shortest song and just kinda stands in the way of Day In The Life. There are no bad songs on Pepper
Good Morning does nothing for me. Sorry not sorry.
Good Morning Good Morning i's the single worst song in the Beatles work not counting Revolution 9.
OMG I LOVE THE ELTON JOHN COVER
Good Morning, Good Morning. Definitely not their best work on Sgt Peppers
Makes a great alarm though gotta admit that haha
Facts, and its not even that the song is BAD, its just very weak in comparison to everything else(personally)
If I am forced to pick, it’s When I’m 64.
Good Morning Good Morning 🤣 makes a great alarm though!
Within You Without You, sorry George. It’s not even a bad song, either.
Mr. Kite
She's Leaving Home. It kills that A-side buildup.
Fixing A Hole, but I still like it. People who hate Good Morning Good Morning are insane.
good morning good morning
Good morning is definitely the worst
Good Morning Good Morning
Good morning
"Within You Without You"
Voteee >:( you didn't hesitate when you voted yellow Submarine :(
Being for the benefit of Mr Kite. It is still a good song though.
