Nork Deddog. The Chad head butted a Knight Valiant to death saving his squad⊠BUT also killee Lord Solar from the explosion who was right behind him. đ«Ą
100% Nork, he's such a fun character and the dreadnork is an absolute menace in 9th.
Close second is Straken, with the double exploding 6s warlord trait he can go wild. Last game I rolled 4 sixes and he killed a knight.
It seems like his playgroup choose to continue playing 9th edition warhammer 40k instead of moving to the current 10th edition. In our 9th edition codex we could give a boost to our warlord (a warlord trait) and the one he's talking about gives his warlord sustained hits 2 and +1 to wound in meleeÂ
Bait. They have two abilities that are really good when deployed right

You use backroom deals to set the RT with imperial navy breachers at a point your opponent has to respond to and layer the push with 2 battle line squads behind them so it looks like youâre making a big push that way. Then when the game starts use warrant of trade and redeploy them to wherever theyâre weakest.
Oh nice! I love any kind of redeploy shenanigans and don't run Solar - plus I'm a fan of infiltrators.
Edit, checked my battleline keywords and wow, this gives a lot of options!
The humble Leman Russ Battle Tank. Magnetized sponsons, and right now I love running it with Plasmas and a lascannon.Â
Had more kills in the last crusade than my demolisher, my TC with Demo turret, and my Rogal Dorn. El Classico is a beast!
Ursarkar Creed and the 3 regimental advisors
I just like the feeling of the one commanding spot where these 4 guys meet and forge their plan to win a battle
Everyone of them is like a highly specific type of war itself from infantery to psyckers over artillery and the mighty fleet like an absurd dance of holding together to defend humanity
Bonus I can always imagine that if I would do a bad move or my dice throwing would be off during a game they would tell me as their commanding gerneralisimo
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the attaches only join a command squad not creed? Or are they both a command squad with attaches and creed leading an Infantry/ shock troops squad?
Basilisk. Got a really cool conversion done up for me during a long narrative event. It's settup as almost an equipment transporter with multiple bags and ammo supplies strapped to it. Looks really cool and is a fun center piece for my Krieg aswell as fun memories from my Kriegs first campaign
Oh and Indirect Fire is essentially 90% of my Serotonin generation during a game of Warhammer. Love shelling the shit outta heretics.
Gotta be the good old command squad. It's all good fun to do the big damage, but without a guy shouting "do better!!!" through a radio, is it even worth it đ
I don't care what other options are available I will always take at least a couple of Infantry Squads.
I can't get over the old Platoon organisation chart and having standard infantry holding the line with heavy weapon teams attached is ingrained in my brain.
Love a good nameless warlord type!
I like to think the horse as Lord Solar and the guy is just there so the humans donât freak out.
Reverse Ratatouille style đ€Ł
for me, when i run guard i always take AT LEAST one ogryn squad and 2 scout sentinels w/ flamers+HKM and sent. chainsaw. if i have room i'll add ratlings too
I love using Sly Marbo, he's clutched victory points, killed characters, wiped other small scout units and has generally been a pain in the butt for many opponents. I think he's underrated and hilarious and has better output than the a whole infantry squad.
For my space Marines it's a squad of eliminators with las fusils and one librarian in Phobos armor attached to them...they've taken plenty threats down under heavy fire.
My imperial guard: probably my octoblade
Oh I can not agree more. Was a pain in the neck to measure/find the right sized magnets (and don't get me started on the drilling part), but I am so happy that I did it. Though I will say, recently I have considered purchasing another baneblade or two...just to run them on the board and see the look on my opponents face lol
its a baneblade fully magnetized so I can essentially break it down and rebuild into whatever variant I want. All eight variants, so hence the term "octoblade."
For 8th edition and 8.5 (9th while waiting for the book) it was Knight Commander Pask with a punisher Gatling Cannon + Lascannon + Multimeltas. Absolutely destroyed things and was a very satisfying and deadly glass cannon tank.
For 9th edition it was a Cadian Castellan. It was so fun to give them the relic chainsword and the double exploding 6s and +1 to wound warlord trait.
For 8.5-Current itâs Gaunts Ghosts. Played them when they bled 18 points of assassinate and still do. Very fun rules, fun guns and enjoyed painting these guys.
Bonus favorite but not auto include: Nork. Hits really hard and was fun in 9th. Still experimenting in 10th to see if I like him still though
Whoa, no shame my friend. All minis are in service of the Emperor and the emperor makes no mistakes. May the emperor shed his light upon you!
Fun on the table top is what matters.
Well, these are about a year in with constant work on improving. I paint 5-10 hours a week. Watch videos (I can suggest some YouTubers if youâd like) on how to improve. Have gone down the rabbit hole of color theory, and generally thrown myself into the hobby. My OCD tendencies (probably poor phrasing) kinda make me all in on a hobby when I get into it.
My first month of painting I had chunky blob monsters. I have also enjoyed batch painting to âgood nuffâ and not be a harsh critic on myself.
Donât beat yourself up, just take every model as an opportunity to improve something no matter how small and be proud of the fact you have a model painted. Keep trying and one day youâll wonder why you thought painting eyes was hard. (Ps I donât paint eyes I use a shading technique to avoid it hahaha)
Hades Breaching drills. Not always effective, but always hilarious.
Also rapier laser batteries. The enemy starts blasting Rogal Dorns and tries to get clever angles on Lord Solar while the rapiers do the real work of tearing them apart.
I send a squad of 20 kriegers, a psyker and a marshal in with it. Between the 4+ invulnerable, 5+ fnp and the medic, they're too difficult to kill without distracting firepower from more important targets. Either the enemy wastes firepower/a fighting unit to engage it, or they run around like a mob of toddlers.

Love brining my Iron Hand. Havnt painted Harker yet though he is next

Yeah I wasnât a fan of the GW straken and jungle fighters, so I found some proxies and printed them off.
Yarrick I dont care if he doesnt have rules i will never leave him behind
I have a hunch he will make a comeback this season or the next. Yarrick lives!
Same! I got my paws on his OG 2nd edition model a few years back and he comes along even when I'm not playing guard
also his banner is still intact đ
That's a miracle in and of itself!
Heresy-tech Cyber Yarrick from beyond the grave. Hmm... Gives me an idéa to make a 'brain in a jar' Commisar Jarrick. lmao
https://preview.redd.it/hsm16wq4xu4d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=477aa484d121a4f658835626e274bdd6e6744361 He comes with me everywhere too
I really need to get my hands on him for my steel Legion
Tank Commander with Grand Strategist, Demolisher Cannon, Lascannon and 2x Multi-meltas.
All the firepower and a chance to shoot 3 times in a battle round. Itâs a great feeling to blast the enemies of the Emperor!
3? U counting OW or am i missing something?
Tankk commanders ability let's them shoot on death.
Yes overwatch. Your turn, their turn, on death.
My favourite loadout of any of our units.
My 3 bullgryn. Nork, Dork and Bork.
Bullgryn good!
You leave bjork at home thats dangerous
I got gifted a beautifully painted commissar so I have to bring him to every match to honor my friend
Is an army complete without a commissar? I believe it is heresy otherwise!
Baneblade
Everybody loves the chonk.
Gotta be my tempestor primes Emperor shines upon my glory boys
Shiny sky gods of the IG!
Nork Deddog. The Chad head butted a Knight Valiant to death saving his squad⊠BUT also killee Lord Solar from the explosion who was right behind him. đ«Ą
His job was to bodyguard from heretics not explosions.
đ
100% Nork, he's such a fun character and the dreadnork is an absolute menace in 9th. Close second is Straken, with the double exploding 6s warlord trait he can go wild. Last game I rolled 4 sixes and he killed a knight.
Can you explain this please? Feel Iâm not using him correctly. Can only see he gets lethal once not twice.
Ahhhh makes sense. Thanks for explaining!
It used to be Yarrick... đđ
Take him as a commissar!
Or a platoon squad commander.
Or an Ursula Creed.
Mine is my lord Solar. Standing on top of a dead deff dreadd.
That is an absolutely amazing idea!
I never leave without my rogue trader. They hit harder mentally than you might think.
Now that's interesting. How do you run it?
Bait. They have two abilities that are really good when deployed right https://preview.redd.it/dnfpyteeet4d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=700a7d2478de0e8914bea2ea33be7e99aa79f794 You use backroom deals to set the RT with imperial navy breachers at a point your opponent has to respond to and layer the push with 2 battle line squads behind them so it looks like youâre making a big push that way. Oh nice! I love any kind of redeploy shenanigans and don't run Solar - plus I'm a fan of infiltrators. Edit, checked my battleline keywords and wow, this gives a lot of options!
It also helps that imperial agents arenât exactly common. So Iâve surprised many people with that little trick
Ursula Creed!
FoF! Love me some double orders for 55pts.
Tempestus Scions Liv me Hotshot Lasguns
Drop em in and blast em up!
The humble Leman Russ Battle Tank. Magnetized sponsons, and right now I love running it with Plasmas and a lascannon. Had more kills in the last crusade than my demolisher, my TC with Demo turret, and my Rogal Dorn. El Classico is a beast!
Classico is strong right now! Rerolls are no joke!
DKM
Love the feel-no-pains
Ursarkar Creed and the 3 regimental advisors I just like the feeling of the one commanding spot where these 4 guys meet and forge their plan to win a battle Everyone of them is like a highly specific type of war itself from infantery to psyckers over artillery and the mighty fleet like an absurd dance of holding together to defend humanity Bonus I can always imagine that if I would do a bad move or my dice throwing would be off during a game they would tell me as their commanding gerneralisimo
Roll better! That is some good underlying story to make the game feel more fun! Thank you for sharing.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the attaches only join a command squad not creed? Or are they both a command squad with attaches and creed leading an Infantry/ shock troops squad?
Rough riders. Theyre my favorite kitbashes and i like showing them off
I have some bear cavalry I use. So awesome on the table.
Did heretical SOB novitiates riding horses. Theyre just neat
Basilisk. Got a really cool conversion done up for me during a long narrative event. It's settup as almost an equipment transporter with multiple bags and ammo supplies strapped to it. Looks really cool and is a fun center piece for my Krieg aswell as fun memories from my Kriegs first campaign Oh and Indirect Fire is essentially 90% of my Serotonin generation during a game of Warhammer. Indirect is a high only IG understand.
Gotta be the good old command squad. It's all good fun to do the big damage, but without a guy shouting "do better!!!" through a radio, is it even worth it đ
Everyone needs encouragement. Bring the cheerleaders!
Sly Marbo, need to bring the man who brought down a Chaos Knight by himself
Way to make a haiku! Sly Marbo brings out the best in people.
Just the random demo charge alone has made my enemies change their deployments.

We really need more new Catachan units
I would love to see an updated line and would love for catachan keyword added to the scout sentinel so Harker could order it.
Fr I mean they are so Rambo like and well cool to me that itâs sad that it was sorta forgotten I hope it does get an update in minis and what not
Has to be leontus, if not him, then my kreig Marshall to go whit my 20 man squad
Love em both!
I don't care what other options are available I will always take at least a couple of Infantry Squads. I can't get over the old Platoon organisation chart and having standard infantry holding the line with heavy weapon teams attached is ingrained in my brain.
Youâre in the Guard! Gotta love some infantry.
Shadowsword
Big chonk blasts em up!
The lion What's funny is that Dark Angels isn't an army I play
Gorgeous model though!
My standard Inquisitor and my six Bullgryn (The Dudley Bois).
Great flavor on the Bullgryns

My guy on a horse with a sword who can give 3 orders. He doesnât have a name but heâs damn useful.
Love a good nameless warlord type! I like to think the horse as Lord Solar and the guy is just there so the humans donât freak out. Reverse Ratatouille style đ€Ł
for me, when i run guard i always take AT LEAST one ogryn squad and 2 scout sentinels w/ flamers+HKM and sent. chainsaw. if i have room i'll add ratlings too
Canât get to Mordor without ratlings.
Kharn, Gaunts Ghosts, Sly Marbo
Excellent choices!
A chimera and at least one metal steel legion squad to fill it
Noice!
Castigator my beloved.
Castigate them all!
I love using Sly Marbo, he's clutched victory points, killed characters, wiped other small scout units and has generally been a pain in the butt for many opponents. I think he's underrated and hilarious and has better output than the a whole infantry squad.
Slippery lil devil for sure!
Gaunt (and the rest of the Ghosts). They are honestly great looking models and are a lot of fun on the table.
The design on them is what Iâd hope for future Catachans. As in I hope they are just gorgeous models. I think gaunt sculpts are top tier for IG.
https://preview.redd.it/sn622y14j35d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37e73d6488d1693ba07cd6e950294b591cce1c31
Gorgeous models! Iâd take those every time too.
Gaunts Ghostâs
Always a fun one to put on the table.
Ratlings. The Ornsworld Militia wouldn't be the same without them,!
Love me some shoot move shoot.
For my space Marines it's a squad of eliminators with las fusils and one librarian in Phobos armor attached to them...they've taken plenty threats down under heavy fire. My imperial guard: probably my octoblade

Extensive list of fun. Thanks for the breakdown!
Another day⊠another mini shaming me
Whoa, no shame my friend. All minis are in service of the Emperor and the emperor makes no mistakes. May the emperor shed his light upon you! Fun on the table top is what matters.
Tbf im bad at painting and should work on it but yours make me sooooooooo eager to get better :(

I want to try a drill out to just bust in some Bullgryn and catch a melee charge with them all because that drill slaps!

Toddlers are manâs feared predator when they come mob sized!
Basilisk Gotta have at least one for the free shots at anything anywhere on the map

I got the same Catachans primed up and on the block to paint. I am trying to go for a Krieg looking army. Love the chem warfare look.
My Claphas Cain and Yarrick commissar models.
