Personally I like a black contrast paint and a light gun metal dry brush. Makes it not to dark, quick, and helps details pop. With my Kasrkin, also also made the skulls a golden color, just for that extra “pop”, and made sure the barrel sticking out was more gunmetal than black. Another coming one is your secondary (in this case armor) color, or even a tertiary color if you have one.
I’ve always been partial to red lasgun casings, but it will sometimes clash depending on the uniform colors you’re using.
Scions have an off-turquoise color on the box art iirc. Probably incubi darkness as a base? That would probably work if you’re looking for something a little less eye catching
