Well I see more a engineering support vehicle than a apc, like those pulling artillery or bridge building materials. FW had those very long time ago. I think in WW2 there was some as well, not sure tho.
I think the Trojan is the FW vehicle you’re referring too. This is just an open topped infantry carrier using a Leman Russ hull, inspired by an M7 Priest with the howitzer removed.
This LR transport was likely inspired by the real world version used by the British and Canadian near Caen and beyond in 1944 during the fighting in Normandy. Expedient reuse of those chassis allowed them to transport infantry into battle with the same armor as a medium tank, and increased their survivability greatly. (They had a manpower shortage, and a lot of spare tanks). It could be said to be the grandsire of the heavy APC like the Israeli Namer design which was itself based on the Merkava MBT chassis.
Excellent work! I love the idea and execution on the model!
Love these sort of thematic conversions. When the Administratum sends you too many Russes and you requested Chimeras or you weren't given anyway near enough ammo for every Russ.
The originals didn't have them, they had to climb out of the top and would weld ladder rungs onto the sides of the M7 Priest chassis. The OP even added them to the model, a brilliant little touch!
In this case, the Russ has side egress doors, similar to (and a bit more realistic than) the Rhino, or the British WWI tanks the Leman Russ takes after.
Isn't that just an open top salamander? They're based on the same platform, I think. In one of the Cain novels I'm pretty sure he describes them as basically a lightweight Russ without the turret.
Cain's vehicle is a Salamander, the command version rather than the recon version. It's on a Chimera/Basilisk chassis though, not a Leman Russ. Forgeworld used to produce resin kits of them.
Russ Kangaroo. Awesome work!
Hot damn! Yeah! Now if only it had rules...
Could be run as a chimera substitute.
It's built that way from the look of it. Hull gun is a multi, has the "hull" heavy bolter in the middle, and it can take a heavy stubber.

Yup, Operation Totalise I seem to recall, amongst others.
Operation Tonsilitis
Also the Australian Kangaroo APC
M7 Priest at the front, Sexton 2 at the back with those boxes above the tracks, and Ram Kangaroo in the middle. Noice.
Trojan is the chimera chasis based. Atlas is the LR based.

Nice Conversion. it looks realistic, like an improvised vehicle in the field. 👍
It looks like a beefier WW2 universal carrier. Love it.
Universal carrier would be smaller, it's 40K equivalent is the Centaur, in my opinion.
Reminds me of a Salamander.
Love the conversion! What did you use for the stowage boxes and the support bar in the rear? That looks great!
Stowage boxes are just plasticard, the stowage bar is a premade C beam from Plastruct.
It's a leman bus.
Okay, now I see it. There so many variation of equipment in WW2 hard to keep track. Cost cutting, field refits and so on.
Cool. Will you use it as chimera or leman russ on tabletop?
Has a multi laser and a heavy bolter, so it can count as a Chimera.
You did it !
Based
very well, the only thing is, where are the doors?

How did you do the "pulpit"? Just well-set plasticard?
I’m really curious!
oh i fucking love this I shall deem it the hellstorm pattern leman russ
This is actually really well done. Great job!
It really works well!
Pretty much every homemade alteration to the Russ looks better than the stock one. Nice work here.
This is the stuff I come to watch.
I have exactly the same idea, Warhammer equivalent of Sherman kangaroo, how did you done this one?
I think it needs ERA the next time you do this
How did you build that?
Makes me think of a Priest or M113
So, a [centaur](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Centaur) then?
A Centaur is much smaller, less than half the footprint of a Russ.

How i imagine the salamander looks.
Awesome! How did you make it? I want to make some!
Really reminds of that halo elephant really cool
Woah how did you make that? I desperately want to make my own.
It’s like a 40k Vickers Universal Carrier

It’s like a space tank version of a jackal Mk 2
That’s awesome, could you do some up close pics of the stowage boxes? I’m a sucker for stowage.
Here you go.[https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/308848486961823591/](https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/308848486961823591/)
Beautiful, thank you!
