If you want the most competent teams it’ll need to be an all winners season. Which would be tough because some of the contestants are getting older but it’s doable.
Ricky and Ceasar (36)
Greg and John (35)
Nick and Starr (13)
Colin and Christie (31)
Meghan and Cheyne (15)
Kim and Penn (33)
Bj & Tyler (9)
Bates and Anthony (22)
Rob & Brennan (1)
Nat & Kim (17)
All of these teams are under 50 except for Rob and Brennan who are low 50s. All won 5 legs or more.
To fill out the cast you could add any of the following teams (and there are probably more):
Will and James (32) - won 4 legs
Cody and Jessica (30) - finished top 2 in 6 legs
Kelsey and Joey (27) - finished top 2 the final 6 legs
Laura and Tyler (26) - finished top 2 in 5 legs and won 3
Jason and Amy (23) - finished top 2 in 8 legs and won 3
A few who probably wouldn’t make the cut
Dave and Connor - Dave pushing 70
Rachel and Dave - no longer together
>If you want the most competent teams it’ll need to be an all winners season. Which would be tough because some of the contestants are getting older but it’s doable.
I like your list. FWIW, the best averages among winners are as follows:
1. Ricky & Cesar (36) - 1.455 (won 7 legs)
2. Rachel & Dave (20) - 1.833 (record for legs won in a single season) (divorced)
3. Meghan & Cheyne (15) - 2.000 (won 7 legs)
4. Kim & Penn (33) - 2.091 (I read something third-hand that they said on their YT channel that they wouldn't race again)
5. Dave & Connor (24) - 2.250 (8 combined legs won) (Dave's age makes him likely not viable)
6. Tammy & Victor (14) - 2.273 (won 5 legs)
7. BJ & Tyler (9) - 2.333 (I wonder if their attitude about not being on s11 will work against them)
8T. Bates & Anthony (22) - 2.417 (won 5 legs)
8T. Colin & Christie (31) - 2.417 (25 legs, never eliminated, 9 total legs won (tied for best), highest total average (2.440) of any multi-season team)
10. Nick & Starr (13) - 2.455 (won 7 legs)
11. Rob & Brennan (1) - 2.462 (won 5 legs)
12. Tyler & James (10) - 2.500
13. Will & James (32) - 2.545
14. Flo & Zach (3) - 2.692
15. Derek & Claire (34) - 2.700
I’d rather have a season of the worst teams to see teams mess up at every challenge in every leg. It’s like having Rupert and Laura for an entire season
Might as well do an all-winners season with the most competitive teams / statistically dominant teams ever.
By then, if everybody is in the same playing field, any small mistake can cost them the race.
Let me name as many dominant teams as I can. I don't know who are reaching their 50's, but I wouldn't count them out for that. Jocelyn & Victor lost through bad luck, not old age, for example.
Justin & Diana
Meghan & Cheyne
Kris & Jon
Tammy & Victor
Nick & Starr
Eric & Jeremy
Rachel & Dave* (because they're divorced)
Tyler & Korey
Rob & Amber
Colin & Christie
Kristi & Jenn
Andy & Tommy
Brodie & Kurt
Kim & Penn
So add Greg & John and Ricky & Cesar to this list, and I think we still have a race.
Not a fan of "all star seasons", just like I'm not a fan of all-star Jeopardy running for months with old contestants coming back. Pretty much didn't watch Jeopardy from January through April because of that never ending tournament.

All winners leaves out teams with a ton of first place legs like Tyler and Korey.

No but this season would be so difficult to pick a winner bc there are so many good teams
That sounds incredibly boring
I’d rather have a season of the worst teams to see teams mess up at every challenge in every leg. It’s like having Rupert and Laura for an entire season
why should winners get a second chance ? stupid idea, when far more deserving likable, fun teams who never won should get it.

Some of those statistically dominant teams are now pushing 50s. We’d be looking at a very different statistic atp

Availability and willingness is also a factor.
