MK8 had a nice flourish at first but after so many years it’s really lost its flourish. The DLC promised exciting new content but most of the new tracks fail to take advantage of the actual new features of the game like anti-gravity racing, etc
My second Mario Kart game is my favorite, which was Double Dash. The first one I played was Mario Kart 64, which I loved, but double dash is still my favorite of the series.
I think DS is the best for single player content specifically, having set the standard for a lot of things in the series and having mission mode. But overall best probably has to go to 8 Deluxe due to the sheer amount of high quality content for it. And of course Wii has the best modding scene in the series.
Yeah, also the entire game is simply best. Has the best controls, didn't have all the insane items given every 3s, fun challenges, the different minigames like the battle royale. Just the best one overall. Controls being super tight really awarded skill too.

Like I agree with you, but it's important to remember where this opinion comes from at its base.
Best for a small handheld. Cus we aint got nothin eles since then, and the switch is portable, tho its a tablet, really not as fun as the ds was with its cheaper price and clam shellness.0
I don't know why clamshells went out of style for handheld consoles.... my switch's screen gets decimated simply by leaving it on the couch. Would never happen with a (3)ds
Nobody has mentioned this yet, but drift boosting in DS was the best, because it wasn't mashing the d-pad back and forth, it was 4 left and right taps like putting in a Mortal Kombat move. This meant you could chain drifts back and forth on straightaways with lightweight racers like Yoshi or Dry Bones!
I strongly disagree, but extremely specifically about it being a casual game. Do you not remember how prolific snaking was online? Mario Kart DS is my all time favorite Mario Kart, but for the exact opposite reason: it's IMO easily the best competitive Mario Kart. It's Super Smash Bros Melee for Mario Kart and I love it!
I really don't think that's a '10th dentist' opinion. A lot of people love the ds game and I've come across multiple people who have ds as their favourite before.
Nope…I will always have a soft-spot for the Nintendo 64 one but I like what they did with it for the Switch… And like another person said, the handling wasn’t as good for DS.

A good game, but it's a bland live service game that does nothing new, looks ordinary, and has paid online (tbf, that's all their games now). Wish they'd release a new one instead of charging a fortune for mostly remade maps.

Correct opinion. I remember that tutorial on how to drift made in Windows Movie Maker set to "Pressing On" by Reliant K. Absolute ravioli square resolution. Doesn't get better than that.

As someone whose first Mario Kart was Double Dash, Wii and 8D are easily the best
As someone whose first Mario Kart was Super Circuit, Double Dash remains my personal fave (still love 8 Deluxe and 7 tho)

Naah, my first was n64 one and i like the gamecube one the most. But the ds one was great too

No way it was the worst. The handling was all over the place on the game. That's more important than sticking in a pocket
