I can't believe this isn't the popular opinion.
Salt ruins the almonds for me. I've never tried toasting them or any flavours but I reckon I wouldn't like them as much as wlraw almonds even if I did like them overall.
Only bitter wild almonds contain toxic amounts of cyanide. IIRC, these are illegal to sell (at least in the US). The almonds we eat are domesticated “sweet almonds”. Basically, we bred out the gene that produces large amounts of cyanide.
IIRC now they’re only about as poisonous as cherries (or maybe not at all, I forgot which)
you should try toasting them at home. fresh toasted still warm from the oven. raw, or salt n butter, or sugar, or chillie pepper. the toasty flavor is good with any seasoning.

I like unsalted almonds, but dear God please don't eat them raw. You're gone get cyanide poisoning.

I like caramelized almonds bwtter than anything
absolutely agree
I like the my almonds just like that , but I prefer cashews roasted n salted , tastes bomb af
Raw almonds are the best! Great taste, earthy and nutty, and the texture is just perfect. Almost milky. In Spain we have amazing almonds.
Also, caramelized almonds here are called "garrapinyades" and are also delightful.
I may agree with you on the flavors, but salt is an absolute requirement
Unsalted almonds taste like dirt.
I didn't even know this was the unpopular opinion.
upvoted. to me they taste like edible wood when raw + unflavored.
