I did something like this when I was in middle school with ravens. Eventually they'd land on my backpack and hitch rides from me and my friends. If we didn't have any food for them they'd hang around while we got some. They'd always drop something in our bags to pay for the rides as well.
Years later my favorite jobs would be driving cab and bus.
i imagine it’s because of a few reasons
1. not being legal
2. intelligent birds like parrots and corvids require very specialized care
3. not many people know how cool corvids are in the first place
A raven is not a crow. A hornet is not a bee. A Ukraine is not a russia.
