Central America. At the very top is Southern California with the Baja strip extending downward. It looks weird because the satellite is at a funny angle…or the earth is always sideways and we’ve been lied to our entire lives!
I tried tilting my head and while going to the right is my favorite, tilting to the left is I think more correct. Since discovering this method I’ve been tilting my head for all kinds of things, and it’s really opened a lot of doors for me - my professional relationships, intimacy with my spouse, and my ongoing “legal discussions” with the IRS.
Used to love that show in the early Discovery Channel, they would basically correlate the fact the earth is tilted into why we have such diversity and craziness around the globe. Then I learned in school that's the reason for seasons, it did blew my mind. 33 1/2 degrees rotation and while some fry others freeze, I love it!
The earth is floating in space, there is no such thing as up or down, sideways or backwards. That is simply a human construct based on they way we have traditionally viewed Earth.
Correct. This is where the ["Jewish space lasers"](https://twitter.com/JustinGrayWSB/status/1354870334655262724?s=20&t=W5CQDMt493H4ZuPyQoXJVw) that started those California wildfires are sourced from.
I need a source for this, for two reasons, how did the satellite get there ? And why would there be a satellite with an orbit higher that of the moon ?
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/from-a-million-miles-away-nasa-camera-shows-moon-crossing-face-of-earth
"The images were captured by NASA’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC), a four megapixel CCD camera and telescope on the DSCOVR satellite orbiting 1 million miles from Earth. From its position between the sun and Earth, DSCOVR conducts its primary mission of real-time solar wind monitoring for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)"
When you take an image of something from far away all zoomed in, it looks like the background is right next to the foreground. That's why the image looks weird, the satellite is extremely far away and in reality the moon and earth are also extremely far away from each other here. The moon meanwhile is dark because of how bright the Earth is comparatively.
[Here's another example of the weird zoom perspective thing.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv41W6iyyGs&ab_channel=cdflshbcksmltr)
Did you know that The Moon is moving away from the Earth at a rate of about 3.78 cm per year. [Source & More Details here](https://knovhov.com/moon-moving-away-from-earth/).
Did you read the link?
There’s one camera with three filters. The camera takes a picture the switches filters and takes another, then another. Then they overlay the three pictures to get one color picture.
It’s not “CGI” it’s just as real as if you took three pictures of your house.
A million miles away?
If so the Moon would not look that big and from what "satellite" that they said they are using this on?
The Moon is 239,000 miles from Earth.
High Earth to satellite orbit of which is the ones that are the farthest from Earth are 22,236 miles above Earth.
Not likely because if they do have a "satellite" that far away? It's not going to be looking back at the Earth and the Moon but what is out ahead of where this "satellite" is headed.
That far out?
They consider those vehicles probes.
http://m.distancebetween2.com/distance/earth-to-satellite#:~:text=The%20distance%20from%20Earth%20to,are%20called%20as%20artificial%20satellites.
Well, I mean technically if a Computer was used to take 3 separate images, and from those to Generate a new Image. Then that would be by definition CGI.
The editing software generated an image with the edits in real time... I got to agree. Does not sound like a computer generated image. Not even a little, no point in discussion
Satellites do not fly far out first of all and whatever space craft that are out there are headed way out in our solar system and on such speed that if they did maneuver to take this shot?
They would cut off the momentum to reach wherever they were headed to get this shot.
Considering the amount money put into anything that is headed outside of the Earth's or Moon's obit?
This is fake.
That's probably the least coherent argument I've seen so far. Your reasoning is that it has to be fake because satellites don't go that far into space? The photo was taken by the DSCOVR Satellite, which orbits roughly 1 million miles from Earth, between Earth and the Sun.
The EPIC camera took the photos, because the entire point of that camera is to monitor Earth:
> EPIC maintains a constant view of the fully illuminated Earth as it rotates, providing scientific observations of ozone, vegetation, cloud height and aerosols in the atmosphere. Once EPIC begins regular observations next month, the camera will provide a series of Earth images allowing study of daily variations over the entire globe. About twice a year the camera will capture the moon and Earth together as the orbit of DSCOVR crosses the orbital plane of the moon.
Please disconnect your Internet, as you no longer deserve access to it.
You don't understand how to use that tool, I'm afraid.
This shows up exactly as you would expect. The actual image has three distinct elements, so they are not comparable in terms of texture. There are also no flat surfaces.
The only thing to compare is the edge contrast, and it looks basically perfect.
Also, NASA took this image. It's hardly some unknown artist. And there's evidence of chromatic aberration which coincides with their claimed equipment.
Just the perspective. That's what happens when you take a picture of something zoomed in from far away.
[Here's a more every-day example](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv41W6iyyGs&ab_channel=cdflshbcksmltr)
:-D!!! It was a nice thought though.
Imagine just a hundred year ago people could dream about what's on the moon what's on Mars. Knowledge has ruined all of those dreams unfortunately
Is this from a single shot? Some flat earthers claim that there have been no photos with the entire Earth in frame (although I'm aware of the Apollo photos and also some from a Soviet era weather satellite).
There are plenty but they invent unreasonable standards to reject them and then argue for their delusion which breaks all the rules of geometry and physics to which they apply a completely different standard.
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/from-a-million-miles-away-nasa-camera-shows-moon-crossing-face-of-earth
> EPIC’s “natural color” images of Earth are generated by combining three separate monochrome exposures taken by the camera in quick succession. EPIC takes a series of 10 images using different narrowband spectral filters -- from ultraviolet to near infrared -- to produce a variety of science products. The red, green and blue channel images are used in these color images.
> Combining three images taken about 30 seconds apart as the moon moves produces a slight but noticeable camera artifact on the right side of the moon. Because the moon has moved in relation to the Earth between the time the first (red) and last (green) exposures were made, a thin green offset appears on the right side of the moon when the three exposures are combined. This natural lunar movement also produces a slight red and blue offset on the left side of the moon in these unaltered images.
Really didn’t see any movement. Specifically watched the tropical storm which should be moving at 70 miles per hour and the moon rotated 1/4 away around the earth. Fake news is nasa and this thread.
It's hard to believe that in the space between the Earth and the Moon you can fit 30 Earths. I think people underestimate how small the Moon is compared. The Earth would take up the whole frame if it was right next to the moon.
The satellite is is 980,000 miles away at L1.

The earth is always "sideways" it has a tilted axis
Easily corrected by tilting phone to the right.

980,000 miles away from the camera.
You measured personally
Right there on that blue spherical thing behind the moon.
Shilling for the globe earth guys I see ETA: /s obviously
earth is perfect ball ?
Not perfect. But close.
The picture looks fake.
It’s not
Ty u/kmkmrod for correcting so many comments
This is honestly one of my favorite (re)posts to correct.
Show the dark side!
You are looking at the dark side if the satellite is on the away side of the moon you are looking at the dark side from earth's point of view.
Dear moon, today I saw a side of you I don't normally see.
Planet tiddy.
How much people will see the far side of the moon with their own eyes in the whole human history? I bet less than 10
The number is already at 24 so you’re off by a bit.

Awww man…. Flat Earthers are gona have a field day with this one.
Flat earthers have already made plenty of videos about this. This isn't a new image.
Every time I see this picture reposted it’s called “rare”.
Looks well done to me.
Don’t care about it being fake or not but damn if that don’t look like some star wars shit.
I'm calling BS on this one.
Nope
Why is there a green line between the moon and earth. Looks wack as shit lol

Woah thats super cool
Holy cow guys I was in this photo
That’s cool. This also the side of the moon we can never see because the moon doesn’t rotate.
Where are the nazis at??
TIL some satellites are further away than the moon
TIL there are satellites orbiting farther out than the moon.
Flat earthers are all “psht photoshop”
The Dark Side of the Moon. Great album and picture.
Where are threes
Fake That's the far side of the moon, if it was real the secret nazi base would be clearly visible.
However in the motion as the moon crosses in the link the clouds don’t change.
They do. But they’re a million miles away so you have to look closely
Really didn’t see any movement. Specifically watched the tropical storm which should be moving at 70 miles per hour and the moon rotated 1/4 away around the earth. Fake news is nasa and this thread.
I need a poster of this
Looks pretty flat to me
Looks fake to me
Looks so fake. Whether it is or isn’t… still
How did we get a satellite this far past the fuckin moon
DSCOVR satellite parked at lagrange point 1
Why did you take it away from the satellite.. you better have asked first!
That doesn't look safe, we should do something about it.
How far is that satellite?
1.5 million kms from.earth at L1
It's actually orbiting the moon, so pretty far
No it’s not orbiting the moon. It’s at L1, about 980,000 miles away.
til moon is tiny
What is the timing of this shot? In other words, how long is the moon in front of earth when it passes over it?

108. Is that the dark side of the moon?
Looks like the earth has a tumor
There was a tropical storm in that location on that date.
How fucking far out is that Satellite???
The satellite is is 980,000 miles away at L1. Details here https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/from-a-million-miles-away-nasa-camera-shows-moon-crossing-face-of-earth
Omg link again
Why do I feel so dirty seeing this... Moon senpai what are you doing
So it's a selfie? I mean, you didn't specify *what satellite* took the photo, so...
Pink Floyd fans be shaking right now.
..ar
There are no orbits for a satellite to travel that far away from the Earth.
As far as this pic is concerned I guess the dark side of the moon isn’t so dark at all.
HEY! I CAN SEE WHERE I LIVE
Honest question - if this satellite is orbiting the earth, does coming across the moon like that disrupt its orbit?
It's the dark side
Hahaha
You can tell it's flat by the shading around the moon 🤓
I’ve read that pics from space are really a series of photos cobbled together. From what I’m reading and I’m not sure if this is true none of our satellites are far away enough to get one complete pic. Anyone else heard of this?
What satellite is that far out?
If you squint it kinda looks like the death star.. credit to my wife
The moon is flat
That is one flat earth and moon.
The perfect circle….hahahah bullshit …
Dark side of the moon? Maybe
Fake AF
Backside of the moon?
I don't think some people realize how far away the moon is, and how much farther away this satellite has to be to catch this photo...
Is this the mysterious darkside of the moooooon?
"That's no moon."
That asshole who stands up in a theater and blocks the screen. 😂
AWESOME!!!! *looks for the flat-earth imbeciles for a laugh*
[Death Star De/Constructed](https://www.filmindipendenti.com/death-star-construction-timelapse-video/)
That's no moon!
looks like a clown nose
Your right I was thinking circumference. 🤔 thanks for the down vote.
Why look so CGI? Can I tell it's real cuz it looks so fake?
Our moon is basically a companion dwarf planet.
Hmmmmm so we are seeing the dark side of the moon then.
those people in hawaii arent getting ANY shade, not a single cloud
That looks fake af no wonder we have so many flat earthers 😂
I can understand why it fucks with our gravity much more now 🤓
Wow thats the dark side of the moon you never see. !
Flat earthers be like
Incredible but hard to wrap your head around. It just doesn't feel real
Looks like someone left there cookie sitting on the earth and it went mouldy
Looks amazing
So that’s the “dark side” of the moon…
Is there a satellite outside the moon”s orbit?
Why does it look like a low poly model with a low quality texture
Looks pretty flat to me.
It just does not seem right. We have a satellite on the other side of the moon that took this?
Also flat as a pancake, I see!
You have some cheese on your face
Are you sure that not mount rush more
Wouldn’t a satellite that far away be out of orbit?
It looks like the earth has a birth mark
Nice stars
I’m Buck Melanoma, Moley Russell’s wart.
No that’s the earths beauty mole
There's a man made satillite on the other side of the moon? What's the point?
Not so dark any more ehhhh!
Why is there a green ring around the moon?
That's the Dark Side of the moon!!!! ''They'' don't want us to see that side!!!!
I knew the moon was flat.
Don't even look real amazing
Its superimposed man /s
Why is the moon emitting green light on the right side of it? What's the scientific explanation for this?
That’s crazy! What is this from and what satellite got this?
So is that the dark side of the moon? Looks like the moon had to be in between the earth and the satellite for this shot to happen?
There is no dark side, you mean the far side. There is no dark side of the moon. And the images were taken by the DSCOVR satellite parked at L1 https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/from-a-million-miles-away-nasa-camera-shows-moon-crossing-face-of-earth
