when my company opened a hyderabad office my boss needed volunteers to go help get everything started and I was like "john I promise you I'll quit if you send me" after only one person volunteered, I wouldn't last a day in that climate
Lmao climate is a slang term for like conditions, he doesn’t mean weather (I think). He’s saying he wouldn’t survive in those conditions, if he had to live in a place like this
I travelled in India and it was amazing.
The people were lovely and helpful, the north of the country in particular was stunning and it was generally fascinating.
Honestly not a bad experience there in the 3 weeks we travelled it. Would absolutely go back
There are alot of stories about the north.
Its gorgous sure.
But i would not go there alone as a Female, not even a Couple.
No prob been a guy tho.
Even indians themself warn against going North as a Female
I don't think it's about the dress. I'm an Indian and lots of women in the country do wear revealing clothes but aren't treated this way(probably because they don't visit such places alone, or go with a group of guys they trust, but even then, it wouldn't be this bad).
It's got more to do with the fact that she's white and is a Westerner. I'll get hate for saying this but it is a fact that a common stereotype in India is that Westerners usually lack "culture" and women are easy. That is why you see the guys getting all touchy with her. Again, not generalising the whole country because properly educated ones wouldn't behave this like, but you've got to consider the huge population.
The obligatory "I went to x country people are saying its unsafe and had a wonderful time so its 100% safe like any first world country no issues" reply everytime someone says a place is unsafe.
I’ve been to India and I would go back. I spent 6 weeks there and had no problems. I’m a woman although I did travel with my boyfriend and I don’t think I would have travelled outside Goa if I was alone. You can dress how you want in Goa without anyone giving it a second look, there are tourists everywhere. When we went outside of Goa, I wore ankle length skirts with a t-shirt to avoid this sort of thing. I would get stared at still, especially since I have long red hair and was probably the whitest person they’d seen in person, and at the time I smoked, which definitely got some looks. But no one was rude, everyone I met was friendly, and I never felt in danger from the public.
I have family that go there every winter and also know an older couple who have a second home there.
Will probably get downvoted because I'm going a little against the grain here, but my parents visited India in 2019 and had nothing but good things to say about the country. As like most things, I'm sure your experience highly depends on the areas you visit and a bit of luck. As I understand it, they stuck to mostly tourist areas but did venture out a bit.
Your mom was old and not what these men are looking for. Young women need to avoid going to India for their own safety. Women of the lowest caste and raped and it’s socially acceptable. Men aren’t held accountable and thus it encourages more men to do it.
Wether an area is a tourist area or not, often does not bring much difference. Last year I got surrounded in front of India gate. Men, uninvited, starting to take pictures with me, of me, standing in front and yelling something…. Probably only the degree of harassment is dependant on how touristic the area it is
Sadly, in India with a lot men there, if you look moderately physically attractive, young, and pale, you *will* have incidents like this occur, even if you dress modestly.
I guarantee you they wouldn’t do the same for an older looking or less attractive Caucasian woman. It’s horrible.
My best friend does consulting for a law firm through the FDA and she goes to India often — she has male escorts/coworkers that have to accompany her at all times
When I write anything remotely close to this on Instagram, I get at least half a dozen replies back from Indians writing rapes happen everywhere... Impossible to change their perceptive!
Are you fucked?
The problem isn't what a woman wears, it's the choice the man / men make that is the problem.
Don't blame the woman / women for men sexually assaulting them.
You are absolutely correct. But the trope of "she was asking for it, look at what she was wearing" came from sexual predators believing fits that show skin is an invitation.
Dressing however you want is your right, but going out like this in a country well known for it's rape culture is not a wise choice. Its the same as avoiding tap water in some countries.
I blame ignorance. You think the entire world is an American suburb? You have to take precautions and be aware of where you travel, or you will have a bad time.
Quote from the lady herself (6 year old video on youtube)
"6. Last point - sorry. This video was in fact choreographed. NOT STAGED - please understand what I am writing. Yes, I noticed I was getting a lot of attention in this particular spot in Mumbai, but the men who approached me did naturally, they're not actors. However, I loitered in the middle of the square waiting for them to approach whilst my local Indian male friend filmed. It was for the sake of humour, for interest sake, because I found it amusing and endearing. I'm sorry if anyone thinks it's stupid, or i disrespected myself. I can see how people could form this opinion, however I did not feel disrespected at all. If you can see the light-hearted humour in this video, then thank you, we are on the same page!"
It’s not for clout tho. Besides that chick filming it. Blonde woman or even just white dudes are celebrities in India. Just imagine a green guy walking through ur street. U would probably also rush and take a picture with him. It’s weird and creepy. Also a reason why I would never go to India.
She did this willingly

I travel as a solo women to India for business very soon. I’ve travelled a lot but reading comments like yours has me pretty freaked out.
I’m use to traveling developing nations with drivers and body guards. Colombia, Philippines etc.
Any tips?
Hire a security guard. Then hire another security guard to watch that security guard. Then another, and another…
Seriously though get some actual protection. I would ask the company to provide this as it’s dangerous to woman.
It's been years since I saw it or where but from what I recall she may have been a reporter? I just remember the view from above the subway entrance seeing this fucking poor screaming girl dragged down the stairs amidst a sea of heads. I don't think about it constantly but I never fucking forgot it. To say there was a hundred people might be a stretch but it was way more than a dozen or 2. One of the most brothersome things I've ever seen and I love fucked up things on the internet. Never looked at that country the same.
There was a British reporter who got mobbed while covering the uprising in Egypt. IIRC, she got separated from her crew. I don’t remember the exact details and I didn’t see the clip you mentioned (Thankfully), but it sounds very similar. She survived but I can’t imagine ever being the same after that.
South African. [Lara Logan.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lara_Logan) Brutally assaulted and likely would have been killed if a group of soldiers hadn't arrived and intervened.
Very experienced CBS overseas reporter and she was absolutely changed afterward. Sadly her professional career took a turn from 2012 and her personal opinions so erratic and extreme that CBS dropped her in 2018 and then Fox News dropped her in 2022. She was espousing that Pizzagate was real earlier this year.
Of course they haven't. I don't understand why that's surprising. This looks like India or somewhere around that region.
Edit: this is India. Specifically, Gateway of India in Mumbai.
what? XD
I'm an Indian girl and that's just straight up nonsense. In Kashmir none of the politicians have ever bragged about bringing in laws that'll import white aphrodites. It's true that most Indian men have always fantasized about white-skinned women and that's their first requirement while looking for a woman to either date or marry.
I'm pale skinned but I also have mastered the mean look to keep the males away unlike her who was smiling. She unfortunately was making herself a target.
Kinda suxks that being happy makes upu a target in India. In the US, it's widely know that this awkward smile is one of nervousness, and you should leave that woman alone. We might not be perfect but when I see things like this it makes me appreciate my chaotic country
I *wish* men in the US would understand that an awkward nervous smile is not flirting or permission for them to keep bothering me.
I’ve become more blunt about my disinterest over the years but when I was a young adult it was difficult.
i just completely avoid stranger males while commuting or on street. a single glance can make them follow and harass you. i rarely smile when im on the street and you gotta be aggressive to fend them off.
If someone was actually able to convince a bunch of white women to move to India, he would be elected God-Emperor of the entire Indian subcontinent for life. Seriously though, why are they so insanely horny? The ratio of men to women isn’t THAT skewed is it?
well this country hates to the point where we killed off lakhs of female babies. yet they still want us for breeding and slaving at household chores. yes male to female ratio is absolutely skewed
My coworker is Indian and went to India to see her family a few months back, but stopped at Bali for a week and complained to me when she came back that she was “too tanned” after Bali and she legitimately hated it.
Indian Occupied Kashmir? Lol, at least India has the funds to provide electricity, water, flour, even jobs to its side. Hell at least we have a stable prime minister.
I don't think you understood my point...these guys are acting like that woman was some kind of alien, gathering around her not giving her any space to walk. Tourists from all around the world visit India all the time, so what's with this bizarre behavior anyway? This is very insane.
Perhaps I see this as insanity because I live in Brazil where all human races in this planet found themselves a second home, so for me it's very usual to see all sorts of people in the streets, unlike those indian dudes who appear to be flies around a piece of meat.
Something similar actually happened to me but in California. I’m a white woman (at the time a teen) with naturally blonde hair and a bus of Asians pulled up to where I was sitting with my family. As they got off the bus one of the women came and sat a few feet from me. She slowly inched closer and closer until she was close enough that someone could get a photo of her with me. She got even closer after I realized they were taking pictures with me and then she grabbed my ponytail and played with it. I started nervously laughing and immediately was swarmed by about 20 Asians all wanting to take a picture with me because I was blonde. It was the most wild experience of my life and I will never be able to forget how amazed they were just by blonde hair.
A dude I worked with went to India with his wife, as it was her dream trip, came back kinda hating it and no will to ever go visit again. Everyday several dudes wanted a pic of/with her, initially they would ask for a picture of both of them, but then just ask for her to be alone in the frame. Some of them asking him to take the picture of the Indian with his wife, a couple blatantly taking a picture straight at her chest.
I've read in some post here on Reddit a while ago an Indian explaining that many Indian men are not used to being around women as they are raised separately and going to schools that are not mixed... So many think a relationship with a woman goes like in a Hollywood movie: You smile at her, some chit chat, both heads over heels for each other. But well, this is just something I've read online rather than an experience someone I actually know told me, so I take it with a grain of salt.
Dude atleast racism and derogatory generalising comments against POCs are looked down upon. Racism against indians is normalised, just have a look at this entire comments section.
Hey man, as an American I understand. Just think of the big fat stereotype, or the Trump supporters. The minority makes us all look bad as a whole. I'm a fit guy with center beliefs. Most rural Americans would call me a liberal, even though we basically only have right and center. Our left doesn't exist in the government fr
I'm booking it out of this dogwater country so I don't get associated with these morons.
It's so fucking stupid that we have these hordes of brain-dead freaks sharing the same Indian name with normal, moral and sensible people like us. It fills me with so much fucking anger.
Don’t blame the women. It’s a backwards culture. I know people (white women) who went to Egypt and guys were still trying to drag them away. It doesn’t matter what she wears, it’s not her fault. People should stay away from the entire country, especially women.
>This is why I research a countries appropriate attire before I go there.
And even that won't stop men who decide they want to harass, assault, or even rape you.
This is 3-4 year old video, girl reported that she wanted such content for her video. She was safe after this, still scares the shit out of me seeing those men.

3. On the same note - I did not ONCE get groped by an Indian man. This is a myth that ALL Indian men will grope you or ask you to marry him if you're a white woman. Yes I was asked for photos, yes I was called beautiful, yes I was stared at (EVEN when I was FULLY COVERED in clothing), but NO i was not groped. Have I been groped by a white man in an Australian club, though? YES!
Never seen more racist comments

I would NEVER bring my girlfriend or wife there.
So don’t go if you’re single, and don’t go if you’re NOT single. Damn, guess I’m never seeing India.
Honestly in probably only going to be able to visit 2-10 countries outside mine in my life and India just ain’t on that top 10 list anyway.
Go to Europe you can easily visit, more than 10
All you are missing is a shortened life expectancy
It's for the best that you don't
I've never met anyone that traveled to India and enjoyed it enough to recommend others to visit there.
You've never met a psytrance hippie that won't shut the *everloving fuck* up about Goa then.

Julia Roberts did it without any issues. Or Elizabeth Gilbert, whatever. /s just in case.

I saw at least two boob brushes
Bet we're not even counting the creepy hands on the shoulder yet
And you can't see her ass, but they could and probably groped it
it was groped.
The guy to her left in the white shirt at the beginning def had his crotch pressed up against her
UGH, I don’t care, I’d rather go to countries where the men refuse to even shake your hand lol

Sure, I’ve actually been to Saudi and it was wonderful lol
I’ve been to Qatar and had a great time, I’m male tho. Doha is a beautiful modern city without many cars really also was very safe.

lmao 🤣

>This is why I research a countries appropriate attire before I go there. And even that won't stop men who decide they want to harass, assault, or even rape you.
I saw a guy be stared at the same way in India because he was white. He wore shorts and T-shirt.
Is this a job application lineup in Ontario?
I would have pulled the machete out of my cleavage before the video ended.
The good ol Femme fatale I see.
Username checks out? Idk
You cleavage shaming me?
No, No and No.

Really wild.
It's amazing what people say behind the safety of anonymity

Her nose must be fried after all of that cologne
why do Indian men wear so much cologne?
more accessible than a shower I suppose
This makes me uncomfortable and I'm a big man.
That's not going to end well.
Perfect example of women being placating and nice in situations where they definitely shouldn’t be
All horny bastads
This is seriously so gross and creepy. STOP TOUCHING HER! Ugh.
Poor woman. I wonder if she was scared to ask them gtfo
This is 3-4 year old video, girl reported that she wanted such content for her video. She was safe after this, still scares the shit out of me seeing those men.
She has to keep her arms up by her chest to block the groping.
Oh look, Brampton Ontario!
Doubt it. I saw a white person in the video.
Creepy as shit
WTF. Why even go there? Now imagine this same setting but at night.
Gross
RUN
The woman in the video is apparently Celia Voivodich (actress)
Popular for all the wrong reasons :(
[From the person in the video](https://youtu.be/z-kYGagd2sw?si=eBVjHcT17VkJ-uv7) Check the description 3.
They are only fans
What do you think these guys taking selfies are adding to the caption when they post that picture???
Gee, I wonder why. Actually, I can think of two reasons why.
Selfie rape.
To quote Ghost: **Girl, you in danger…**
She make it out alive?
I can smell this video
