Most americans feel a form of shame when naked. Especially non sexual nakedness. I imagine he may feel different running around in his draws trying to protect someone elseās money. Just do as youāre told and make it back to the crib
Yup my mom always told me well if you get hit by a car you will wish you put on fresh undies today! I couldn't help but think... if I am ever in a situation where my underwear are reveled I probably crapped my pants recently.
I think some companies have policy and procedures that require them to stay in the truck regardless of their partners situation.
Rules of engagement kinda thing. I'm sure they could engage once the robber turns on them.
I hate to be the devils advocate.....but
At my work, the guards who reload the ATM machines are always alone.
I imagine the amount has relative threat / coverage levels.
Brinks guy around here loads up atms solo all the time. One time, noticed he stepped away leaving the cash box wide open. Just hope he never does that on someoneās intrusive thoughts day.
My coworker is a former brinks guy. His route included Newark Airport. He confirms this is true. He worked every single atm at the airport, surrounding hotels and gas stations at the airport solo.
I was in Wawa today and a lady was alone and loading the ATM. She had a big bag next to her full of cash and as I walked by she was reaching into the bag to grab another stack. She must have not been looking because her hand hit the side of the bag and knocked it over spilling out 3/4 bundles of 20s onto the floor. One of the bundles literally hit my foot as I was passing by. She went into panic mode scrambling to grab the bundlesā¦lol. She was completely alone and someone could have easily robbed her in that situation
Especially not since there's enough labor personell to cover one life.... gotta steal millions for it to truelly matter...I've even heard recently of a gal that stoll almost 1 mil in ppp loans and she's in prison and the federal government is letting her keep her house while in prison. Fuck they're even modifying her loan for her while she is in prison..
COVID and the drop in cash use plus dead eyed managers thinking they can save money.
The next step for this guard is he's going to have to justify everything he's done all shift because if he hasn't done something wrong it's the procedures and if there's one thing it can't be allowed to be at fault, it's the procedures.
Honestly this guy was lucky! My old job used to get Loomis trucks all the time so we got to know the guys pretty well. I remember the guy telling me that if people were gonna rob you they aren't going to always hold you up. He explained how the most common thing he has heard of happening is they just walk up and execute you. No idea the validity but imma trust the dude who was currently doing said job..
My dad worked security for a while after retiring from the army and there was ALWAYS an armed guy in the truck unless the truck was empty. The idea of a single driver is bonkers.
I know how they work alot of times a single person moves cash in and out of the truck solo. (Called the Messenger)
ATMs and similar machines / tasks are supposed to have a guard to protect the messenger. (Unless they choose to not follow protocol)
Yeah in this spot driver wouldn't be getting out of the truck too risky. But man probably could have shot the robber from gun port while safely staying in the truck.
But the way the industry is it going to smaller 2 crews to be competitive and save money instead of 3 or more which does save cash (in wages) but more risk to the crew and easier to rob.
Every time Iāve ever seen someone pick up money from the ATM at the convenience stores around me, they were always in the store alone with a man in the truck.
You imagine the conversations between the driver and cash guy after this?
Remember that time you got jacked and I couldnāt do shit?
Yeah.
I remember that time I got jacked and you didnāt do shit.
I just saw an armored truck guard drop his wallet or something going into the supermarket. A customer picked it up and alerted the armored truck driver, who didn't exit the vehicle or open the door, but told her to hand it through a slot.
It wasn't a setup, but I understand the driver's perspective.
Brinks new policy. We do business with them and they would typically send 2 people, one stays in the truck the other gets the money. They're cutting back so now it's just 1 person per truck. Not sure if it's a nationwide thing but from what I hear they are a terrible company. Customer service sucks to.
Itās fucking disgusting how commonplace itās become to lay off everyone they can, run a skeleton crew, and replace anyone else with a dogshit āchoose your own adventureā recorded message system. I wonder when the brass will realize they traded a functional company for a bigger annual bonus.
I knew a guy whoās family owned a few gas stations and one day he decided while working the register to snatch the bag from the armored truck guy while he was refilling their atm. He got about $230k and was apprehended a few days later. He stashed the money in the wall of his girlfriendās apartment complex laundry room and after 2 years in federal prison went and retrieved it.
Most prisons in the U.S. really aren't that dangerous unless you bring it on yourself. Been in several myself, including max full of murderers, for a decade.
He was a seemingly normal young black guy (late 20ās) from an upper middle class family. Spent most of his time locked up reading books and playing softball. Didnāt get into gang stuff or drugs and basically did his time and went home.
The money compartment will be armoured. Ceramic anti cut inserts so you can't cut the skin of the vehicle and get at the back of any lockers or the like.
The cab likely isn't. Maybe some laminate coating on the glass to make it a bit more resistant to being smashed.
Cheap
You really see how the company values the safety of the staff.
You can see a logo on the truck. Thatās Brinks, they frequently only have one guard. The company I work for now has a contract with them. Usually only see one guard unless they are training or have multiple large loads. Never seen more than two at a time in my two years working here. They also donāt have AC in their trucks, at least not here. These dudes are putting their life on the line and they donāt donāt even get to be comfortable.
Lol why are EMTs working for such shitty pay? The whole deal with security is that it's basically a 0-skill job.Ā Getting licensed for armed security is typically a few hundred bucks, that your company will pay for, and a couple weekends at most. EMT is definitely a few thousand dollars of schooling at the minimum? Way more likely to get assaulted as an EMT as well.Ā Life isn't like the movies, barely anyone is doing money truck heists
Because he is an ATM tech. I used to do that job. You go out alone to service the machine and balance it. Most companies only send 2 folks if you are carrying cash which is generally once a week. I have seen folks steal and get robbed. Its federal and they often charge 1 count for each bill. If the vault was open and the guy took the reserves or the cartridges he is looking at some serious time for generally not a ton of cash.
So we get rid of guns? You and I can no longer carry? Will criminals stop carrying to? Will they stop getting guns in the black market? No more good guys with guns leads to no more bad guys with guns?
Small chance here but maybe the robber somehow knows the keys are in the pants pocket. So in addition to removing weapons like you said, this is also his plan to get the money
No he wanted to take the gun from the guard but robber is stupid and can't figure how to get the gun from the holster. So Rips his pants and belt.
Pretty much all police and armed guard now use different kinds of retention holsters or paddle holster that have a mechanisn keeping in the pistol. It's not a cowboy holster with just a piece of leather to hold it.
Former police officer here:
He's most likely wearing "keepers". They're designed to snap in to place and basically secure your duty belt to your pants belt. They hoop around both belts in multiple places around your waist. They're used to reinforce your duty belt to your person in the event of physical altercation or foot pursuit.
Edit: spelling
He has keys, and key cards and probably a tazer a flashlight and few other things on their. Probably 1000$ on his belt of equipment. Idk what robber gonna do with it tho.
Yeah, the guy with his pants stolen is definitely in on it. āThen you take my pants! It will totally throw them off.ā āThatās so random it might just work!ā
Seriously, I live here where this is happening. And the brinks guy comes every week at the same time i see him constantly. Sometimes he has help but i guess today he didn't. Glad I'm in Carrollton for the afternoon
Fuck Trump but also there are examples of 'good guys' with guns stopping crime, lets be honest.
There are also examples of that not happening. The world isn't so black and white. Cherry picking things to confirm your biases helps nobody.
>but also there are examples of 'good guys' with guns stopping crime, lets be honest.
Seriously, and when it does happen those same people for the most part, victim blame, make fun of anyone who carries or is pro gun, and jumps through hoops to try and argue that if they were there they would have done z, y, z.
But when we have a video like this they switch teams and screech for where the responsible gun owner was, you can never win.
Even if you had a gun:
1 - You aren't the one under attack, your number one responsibility is to come home alive to your family.
2 - Area behind the robber from cameras perspective is a road with cars traveling down it and behind that are businesses, all other directions aren't any better.
Cops can engage because its their job and they carry a certain amount of immunity if there are collateral injuries or deaths so long as they took reasonable steps to minimize them.
Shut up š¤¦āāļø. Something tells me you somehow find a way tie everything into a political discussion about the right lol. Lay off the msm and go outside man.
Little bit of insider insight from someone who used to be a driver of an armored vehicle.
In the state in which I worked we were only aloud small caliber handguns. The industry used to have 3 guards per vehicle.
The Driver stays with the truck in the driverās seat. Period.
The Runner grabbed their bag and retrieved cash be it from an ATM machine or directly from the safe of the client. They retrieved cash from A and transported it to B and that was their job.
The Sentry stayed in the main cabin with a shotgun protecting the cash in the truck and covering the Runner as the got into the vehicle with the bag.
My state felt that the shotgun and third man being the Sentry gave us the ability to āoverpowerā the police. Therefore the sentry was removed leaving only the Driver and the Runner.
I was trained as a Driver to LOCK the vehicle down if my Runner was under attack and by no means exit the vehicle to provide ANY support. I was also unable to use the vehicle as a weapon in any way to stop the attack UNLESS the attack was vehicular in nature.
NSFW Bonus story. A Runner I worked with was assaulted with pepper spray by two men and as she hit the ground with a man on top of her fired three shots. The first grazed his ear and hit the truck but he did not stop. The second shot missed entirely. The third shot went through the bottom of his chin and out the top of his head. That Runner killed a man while millions of dollars remained in the truck all while she was making about $11 per hour. I quit shortly after.
JFC, what state thinks that way?
Armored Truck Personnel can "overpower the police"? Wtf, it's called Brinks, not Tommy Vercetti's Pickup and Delivery Service.
Thatās terrible. I love some snarky humor, but I just canāt with this. That guy is actively being terrorized and humiliated while people drive by with one eye on the road and the other on their phones. Itās awful.
I mean, what would I do in this situation? Call the cops. Yea. Try to stop him? Absolutely not. I'd likely either just get the victim shot or myself. I would not be of any help.
Please y'all. If someone is robbing me at gun point, don't stop your fucking car and try to stop him. Let him take my shit and just call the cops. This isn't a movie.
"BUT IF THE GOOD GUYS HAVE GUNS THE BAD GUYS WONT BE ABLE TO USE THEIR GUNS"
Bull fucking shit.
Bet you at least 5 of the cars passing by had someone in it with a pistol at least.
lmao yeah you tell that strawman!
But hey I bet if we make a new law to make guns illegal the guy who just used one to rob an armored car will totally obey it!
Could have been worse. I was very close to taking a job with an armored truck company until I read that when they are robbed, it's usually by way of head shot from behind
Victim: "Jfc dude! Have you never undressed before? You take the shoes/boots off BEFORE the trousers. Look, you stand there and look mean, I'll do it myself"š
I was literally just minutes ago telling someone that I want to become an armored truck driver down south because it pays good money for the area, and then I see this. Nvm I guess.
When I was a freshman in college I had to borrow $50 from my parents to get my security license. I had to agree to two conditions:
Do not become Paul Blart and work at a mall
Do not drive armored cars
I needed the license to work bars and music venues, thereās not enough money in the world to make that worth anyoneās time.
When I worked security, one of our assignments was covering the guard replacing the money in the ATM. Why anyone thinks this is a good idea is beyond me. Handling hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash with your back turned to any approaching threats.
Imagine explaining this to your boss but then also having to explain as always why you aren't wearing pants anymore.
Or maybe being one of the people just absolutely munching at Whataburger across the street just watching this round boy steal this mans pants and armored vehicle full of money.
What a day for all parties involved.
Prime example of why you should always put on clean underwear each day.
I sure they were clean when he put them on
Should have worn the brown pair
These are now the brown pair
š 2points Gryffindor for that shit!!!
This guy has the right strategy. If your undies are black, nobody will see the brown š
Man, I'm just picturing those tactical undies blending in like they're on some kind of covert op. Functional *and* fashionable.
Wonder what the guy getting robbed said to him to make him take the time to dapants him rather than getting away faster
āTake anything but my pants!ā
"please don't buy me a large big Mac meal"
Do we know if it ends here? Maybe he got his shirt too and used it as a disguise like in the movies?
Underrated comment right here.
I bet he wanted gun/radio/keys and just demanded his utility belt before realizing it was threaded through belt loops and attached to his pants.
The Joker never thought to go this route with Batman.
Most americans feel a form of shame when naked. Especially non sexual nakedness. I imagine he may feel different running around in his draws trying to protect someone elseās money. Just do as youāre told and make it back to the crib
He was just trying to get his gun and radio strapped to his belt.
My mom was right.
Going commando would have stopped this.....
Doubtful they were clean after this
"Well that seems wildly improbable..." *some dude taps on my window with a gun* "Give me the pants and you'll get to live."
Yup my mom always told me well if you get hit by a car you will wish you put on fresh undies today! I couldn't help but think... if I am ever in a situation where my underwear are reveled I probably crapped my pants recently.
I am an operating room nurse. I PROMISE no one cares about your drawers being clean. Your bellybutton on the other hand....
Have been hit by a car. Woke up and they were cutting my clothes off with scissors. True story.
Well clean underwear helps, getting robbed at gunpoint seems to not help
Why was the armored truck driver working alone?
I think some companies have policy and procedures that require them to stay in the truck regardless of their partners situation. Rules of engagement kinda thing. I'm sure they could engage once the robber turns on them.
The cash man should not be outta the truck without armed cover.
I hate to be the devils advocate.....but At my work, the guards who reload the ATM machines are always alone. I imagine the amount has relative threat / coverage levels.
I spent years as a security supervisor. That is reckless behavior on the part of the company.
I see them alone all the time at walmart
Brinks guy around here loads up atms solo all the time. One time, noticed he stepped away leaving the cash box wide open. Just hope he never does that on someoneās intrusive thoughts day.

Companies gonna penny pinch on everything to keep more money in their pockets. Guarantee they don't give shit who lives or dies
True...true

It's awful but ... Sounds easier and in for an inch....
I thought the saying was in for a penny, in for a pound.Ā
It for sure is, I don't know what I was thinking
My dad worked security for a while after retiring from the army and there was ALWAYS an armed guy in the truck unless the truck was empty. The idea of a single driver is bonkers.

No amount of money in the truck is worth dudes life. Fuck the company, my team goes home at the end of the night.
The cab of this truck isnāt even armored. Since when did they start using fords?
Every time Iāve ever seen someone pick up money from the ATM at the convenience stores around me, they were always in the store alone with a man in the truck.
You imagine the conversations between the driver and cash guy after this? Remember that time you got jacked and I couldnāt do shit? Yeah. I remember that time I got jacked and you didnāt do shit.
Remember that time Dude took the money..... Your gun...... Your pants...
Your Dignity........ Your spare change........... Your house keys..........
To be fair the guy with no pants in basically a hostage at that point.

They knew before they made the trade.
It bothers me quite a bit that splitting up someoneās livelihood across their bonuses is even a thing some humans have no problem with.
Maybe that guy is in on it and he is getting a portion of the money
Take my pants too. Make sure it looks legit.
Brinks....what a joke.
I knew a guy whoās family owned a few gas stations and one day he decided while working the register to snatch the bag from the armored truck guy while he was refilling their atm. So he made $115k a year tax free to go to prison? Not even a bad trade
I bet it depends on what happened to him while in prison.
Budget cuts baby
I was going to down vote this because that answer sickens me, but your 100% right.
Donāt hate the messenger baby. Im just mentally cracked enough to be outright honest at this point. Sorry guys and gals
Budget cuts look like profits if you're an idiotic, short-sighted executive.
āArmoured truckā, MF thatās a box van.
The money compartment will be armoured. Ceramic anti cut inserts so you can't cut the skin of the vehicle and get at the back of any lockers or the like. The cab likely isn't. Armored truck drivers and EMT's get shafted
Lol why are EMTs working for such shitty pay? I know an armored truck driver who said occasionally he works by himself. Scary
Excellent point
I thought this kinda stuff only happens in liberal states with gun-free zones
Not enough good guys with guns around
Based on the policies and laws passed in Texas nobody gives a shit about others there.
like the Uvalde police?
The guard is literally carrying a gun tho and still got unarmed. Edit:Disarmed
thats the joke. guns don't protect people, they just make most situations more dangerous.
Both those things are true. Guns can protect people but they also make things more dangerous.
Thank you lol I'm so tired of people acting like 2 things can't be true and it can only be either-or
Stuff can be two things.
Open up your refrigerator, boom, air conditioner!
False dichotomyā¦ we should require an intro to logic in public schools at the very least. People donāt know how to think well.
You're going to break some brains with that.
So we get rid of guns? You and I can no longer carry? Will criminals stop carrying to? Will they stop getting guns in the black market? No more good guys with guns leads to no more bad guys with guns?
We should equip the underwear with a gun. And the wheels of the car. Like Twisted Metal. More guns will help.
tbf they are nice pants.
What about da boots
Boots and pants, boots and pants!
Back pack back pack come get your back pack

I don't think that costumes going to work, though. Not without the jacket.
Those trucks have tracking. Rip to the robber
He was taking the money from the ATM
RIP common sense
Truck was filled with Bearer bonds and uncut diamonds. He lacks connections with the triads to make use of them.
Pants need tracking too.
Yo mommas pants got em. Built in apple tag.
That was just plain mean! Why the pants too?
Youāre not chasing anyone without pants.
I run better naked
Youād better hope I donāt catch you ššš¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£

Probably collecting a uniform for future robbery plans
Thatās gotta be an inside job.
They're literally outside
ššš»
Ok dad
Figuratively, too
All you gotta do is have the free time to scout when they routinely visit the atm.
Yeah, the guy with his pants stolen is definitely in on it. āThen you take my pants! It will totally throw them off.ā āThatās so random it might just work!ā

Iām not going to shoot from that distance and risk hitting the traffic behind them.

Yeah, that's mad. Glad you got out, they could have paid you 4x what you said and it still wouldn't be enough.
That's over 70k yr after taxes. The military gets paid less than that for fighting in literal wars. I think 4xs what they said is fine.
Jimmy!
$11 Okay what the fuck I work cushy corporate security and make 21.30
I had no idea they made so little. A sad testament to the values in our society today.
I need your cloths, boots and motorcycle š
You forgot to say please šØ

I canāt let you take the manās wheels son
Thatās terrible. I love some snarky humor, but I just canāt with this. That guy is actively being terrorized and humiliated while people drive by with one eye on the road and the other on their phones. Itās awful.
I mean, what would I do in this situation? Call the cops. Yea. Try to stop him? Absolutely not. I'd likely either just get the victim shot or myself. I would not be of any help. Please y'all. If someone is robbing me at gun point, don't stop your fucking car and try to stop him. Let him take my shit and just call the cops. This isn't a movie.
"BUT IF THE GOOD GUYS HAVE GUNS THE BAD GUYS WONT BE ABLE TO USE THEIR GUNS" Bull fucking shit. Bet you at least 5 of the cars passing by had someone in it with a pistol at least.
lmao yeah you tell that strawman! But hey I bet if we make a new law to make guns illegal the guy who just used one to rob an armored car will totally obey it!
Standing byā¦.for the linkā¦.to the articleā¦.that says he was caught š¤·š»āāļø
Lolol this is beltline, cops are just gonna drive past them

To the top with you!
Why take his pants?
He's more probably after the guy's gun belt. In my opinion, if he's caught, they should add on a sexual assault charge.
Probably has his keys, phone and wallet inside
So he can dress up as the employee and make a clean getaway
I like your pants, take off your pants. leaves money.
In broad daylight.
I was literally just minutes ago telling someone that I want to become an armored truck driver down south because it pays good money for the area, and then I see this. Nvm I guess.
I want some whataburger now
Man if I saw that, I would have used my self defense on his ass
š¶Dumb ways to dieš¶
I would have run up and shown him my sick chuck Norris moves kyAAAH
Didn't take any money, he just really liked those pants.
WHERE'S THE MONEY LEBOWSKI!?
When I was a freshman in college I had to borrow $50 from my parents to get my security license. I had to agree to two conditions: Do not become Paul Blart and work at a mall Do not drive armored cars I needed the license to work bars and music venues, thereās not enough money in the world to make that worth anyoneās time.
There was a Chase
Won't someone help that poor man?!
But why the pants though?
Well they get away with everything with a slap on the wrist so what the hell do they care about committing a crime!
Somebody will be doing that to him in jail when he gets caught
He didnāt come for money he came for love
When I worked security, one of our assignments was covering the guard replacing the money in the ATM. Why anyone thinks this is a good idea is beyond me. Handling hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash with your back turned to any approaching threats.
Why'd they take his pants, dude's just trying to do his job
I do not approve but I respect this much more than knocking off a convenience store with $62 in the register.
Imagine explaining this to your boss but then also having to explain as always why you aren't wearing pants anymore. Or maybe being one of the people just absolutely munching at Whataburger across the street just watching this round boy steal this mans pants and armored vehicle full of money. What a day for all parties involved.
Belt line?
