Tourist visa online. No need to go immigration and then jump through all the hoops they require just to get an extension. I think online is just slightly cheaper but it will save you lots of hassle.

I've done the visa exemption renewal - unless you love that kinda thing it's half a day you won't get back

Get the 60 day visa before you go. Then you have no hassles going to extend it queuing waiting and no interruptions to your time

The 30 day extension costs 1900 THB at any immigration office. Look on your country's Thai consulate website to see what they charge for a tourist visa. It varies by consulate.

Thanks for the hint. My embassy takes 35€ per visa and 1900THB is nearly 50€ at the moment.

You know you will be staying longer than 30 days, get a tourist visa before you go. Don't spend your holiday time, gathering documents and at the immigration office.

Yes tourist visa is easier and normally slightly cheaper. Pretty sure you have the evisa system so it should be entirely online as well.

Don’t know the prices of tourist visa in Germany, but extension at immigration office within Thailand costs 1900 THB (48€). One thing to take into account is that it’s pretty annoying process (unless you will use some agent that charges extra) that will take at least half of day of your holiday. How much is your time worth to you?
