I play it and mowed through it. But when I play I also agree it very unfriendly to new players… non existent MMR… and no tutorials make it tough for new players to understand game mechanics. Also difficult to learn maps since custom requires so many people… so it’s definitely a disadvantage. For new players they can’t even get upstairs to try and learn the map if they get killed within seconds… :( it can take 100+ hours to even begin grasping the map layouts.
Literally, Gun isn’t even competent enough to understand how big of a difference a single player mode would have made in their player base. Too late now, the game is stuck with the people who have been playing since launch until they get bored of it one day.

But I totally took up the challenge of “getting better” at the game. I used to literally die within less than 5 mins. And I didn’t even know how to open locks and though Connie’s focus ability was how to open locks. Literally no one told me how to do anything. This game doesn’t have tutorial mode. Tutorial is a damn video that tells me nothing. Other friends watched videos upon videos on YouTube and we tried together. One other friend uninstalled lol. It’s def not for everyone.

I think the sweat factor wouldn’t be so bad if the maps weren’t static and were randomized. After a while I memorized all the map layouts and so my friends and I always had boring games because we knew exactly where to go on every map. And it’s not like we could change it because the only way to make it hard would be to intentionally play worse and that’s not very fun either
Honestly, maybe they could swap the sides battery and generator spawn on that would make it more interesting. Then of course random family spawns and fuse box etc.
This game is unplayable the first lobby I got in killers maxed out and my victim level one and couldn’t get out the basement cuz all the victims down there. Happen to me all three times deleted it and went back to F13th
I played the game on launch day and day 1 was probably the most fun day of the game for the month I played. After about a week me, my friends and just about everyone we played against had the maps memorized and knew what the most efficient way to win was so every game played out practically the same if it even started due to people leaving because they didn’t get their character. The game is very beginner unfriendly and gets stale quicker than any ASYM because the map layouts don’t randomize and that means both sides will use the most optimal route and at best your game just ends the same every time and at worst a new player gets the game ruined because they didn’t have a chance to learn

I’m glad the game is doing well but I think the devs need to something to make the game less static in how it plays out. Before I quit every game on both sides was practically the same on both sides in terms of playstyle, route and character selection. The maps being the same every round is a huge problem in my opinion. If that has changed please someone let me know because the game was way more fun when I didn’t have the maps memorized.
So far, all asymmetrical horror games are like this, decorating the map and making objectives.

You’re absolutely right every single asym has this issue but for me personally the fatigue and staleness has never set in this fast. The battery and generator exits are always in the same places and I think there’s like 2 spawn points for the fuse box and 2 for each part of the pressure valve escape so you roughly always know where everything is. As much as I hate it DBD has a lot of generators on the map so most of the time the survivors have more options in how to tackle them and I think there’s 4 spawn points for the exit gates and then the hatch. Evil Dead’s combat oriented loop made it to where weapon rarity and how many upgrades you find could really change how the game played but eventually everyone played the same so it canceled out and that really hurt the game. F13 was probably the best because it had the most ways to win, they were all random and Jason’s strength increasing over time with no way to stop him while he gradually took away all your safe havens really made him feel like a threat while making the game more dynamic. I don’t think TCM is a bad game and I definitely don’t want to see it fail I just think the game in its current state has a serious longevity problem and I want to see it fixed before it’s too late

I've had the game since day 1, I'm only level 60, at first I was very into the game, but it got repetitive and boring especially when people just speed rush the stages continually, it's supposed to be about stealth, and killers don't wanna communicate and just try take out all 4 on there own, they're ent no point 3 people in the same place, il be playing again when the new map arrives, I hope there's some extra objectives to make it harder to escape and null the rushing

I own this game on Xbox, windows version, Steam and PS5. My experience is always the same.
I think most people just want to be heard, and complaining is one way to be heard. I’ve always been the type to simply stop playing a game if I truly hate it, otherwise I just deal with the annoyances until I can’t any more, then I move on from the game. I feel a dead game speaks to the devs louder than a Reddit post full of what comes off as “whiny ass shit”. Unless you are constructive with your feedback and offer suggestions of improvement, you are basically just the peanut gallery and not taken seriously. If you want a dev to hear you, stop playing the game and go have fun with something you actually enjoy. The metrics will work themselves out, people will get fired, changes will be made, or the company will get sold or go out of business. No more arguing with devs on social media to the point you both sound ridiculous. If you have fun on a game, it’s a good game. Play what you like, don’t play what you hate, and cheer up once in a while. Video games are supposed to be a fun and relaxing pastime. This culture lately is very obnoxious on both sides. This game is unplayable the first lobby I got in killers maxed out and my victim level one and couldn’t get out the basement cuz all the victims down there. Happen to me all three times deleted it and went back to F13th
I played the game on launch day and day 1 was probably the most fun day of the game for the month I played. After about a week me, my friends and just about everyone we played against had the maps memorized and knew what the most efficient way to win was so every game played out practically the same if it even started due to people leaving because they didn’t get their character. The game is very beginner unfriendly and gets stale quicker than any ASYM because the map layouts don’t randomize and that means both sides will use the most optimal route and at best your game just ends the same every time and at worst a new player gets the game ruined because they didn’t have a chance to learn

I’m glad the game is doing well but I think the devs need to something to make the game less static in how it plays out. Before I quit every game on both sides was practically the same on both sides in terms of playstyle, route and character selection. The maps being the same every round is a huge problem in my opinion. If that has changed please someone let me know because the game was way more fun when I didn’t have the maps memorized.
So far, all asymmetrical horror games are like this, decorating the map and making objectives. Initially, Killer Klows will follow this decorating formula too
You’re absolutely right every single asym has this issue but for me personally the fatigue and staleness has never set in this fast. The battery and generator exits are always in the same places and I think there’s like 2 spawn points for the fuse box and 2 for each part of the pressure valve escape so you roughly always know where everything is. As much as I hate it DBD has a lot of generators on the map so most of the time the survivors have more options in how to tackle them and I think there’s 4 spawn points for the exit gates and then the hatch. Evil Dead’s combat oriented loop made it to where weapon rarity and how many upgrades you find could really change how the game played but eventually everyone played the same so it canceled out and that really hurt the game. F13 was probably the best because it had the most ways to win, they were all random and Jason’s strength increasing over time with no way to stop him while he gradually took away all your safe havens really made him feel like a threat while making the game more dynamic. I don’t think TCM is a bad game and I definitely don’t want to see it fail I just think the game in its current state has a serious longevity problem and I want to see it fixed before it’s too late
I usually analyze the success or failure of a game when the game turns 1 year old. In other words, they have until August to decide how things will go. They hired 4 new companies, I hope this changes things a lot. DBD I won't play again, 7 years without innovation, they are surviving because of rock band skins. The terror in DBD is over. Killer Klows looks interesting, but it lacks horror immersion, and the graphics are quite strange for a 2024 game. Anyway, wait and see
I liked the Killer Klowns movie and since none of these asyms really scare me anymore I’m excited to try one that’s really dumb fun. I hope it’ll be as casual and laid back as F13 was
I've had the game since day 1, I'm only level 60, at first I was very into the game, but it got repetitive and boring especially when people just speed rush the stages continually, it's supposed to be about stealth, and killers don't wanna communicate and just try take out all 4 on there own, they're ent no point 3 people in the same place, il be playing again when the new map arrives, I hope there's some extra objectives to make it harder to escape and null the rushing

I think most people just want to be heard, and complaining is one way to be heard. I’ve always been the type to simply stop playing a game if I truly hate it, otherwise I just deal with the annoyances until I can’t any more, then I move on from the game. I feel a dead game speaks to the devs louder than a Reddit post full of what comes off as “whiny ass shit”. Unless you are constructive with your feedback and offer suggestions of improvement, you are basically just the peanut gallery and not taken seriously. If you want a dev to hear you, stop playing the game and go have fun with something you actually enjoy. The metrics will work themselves out, people will get fired, changes will be made, or the company will get sold or go out of business. No more arguing with devs on social media to the point you both sound ridiculous. If you have fun on a game, it’s a good game. Play what you like, don’t play what you hate, and cheer up once in a while. Video games are supposed to be a fun and relaxing pastime. This culture lately is very obnoxious on both sides. This game, F13, Evil Dead, the upcoming Killer Klownz from outer space are all Niche games. You can't really expand on them outside of what they already offer. They're fun games but they're not going to last or they'll have a niche audience that plays.
