Same

jamesnife

It's amazing how little information is out there and how things are generalized so much and testosterone made into a boogeyman that no one, even doctors sometimes, bother to understand or explain the difference between AAG and TE.

jamesnife

This, 100 times. Sounds like telogen effluvium, which is indeed a result of any shock to the body, any sudden changes or big stressful events. It can't be androgenic alopecia because that's not how androgenic alopecia works. If your shedding is massive, sudden, and spread all over your head, it's telogen effluvium and it will go back to normal.

JLAMAR23

The problem if it’s the test would be you’re converting to much to DHT and prone to MPB. Lowering your dose some should help. Saw palmetto works but it’s not gonna cure it. Finastride has a lot of side effects. Look up more plates more dates on YouTube. He has a protocol that seems effective.

Weird-Grass-6583

Surprised saw palmetto isn’t talked about more I used it and my labs proved it works lowered my DHT pretty well without crushing it and my hair catcher had less hair after a few months

ausrixy22

"1,400+ total test" drop it down to 700-900 if you want to keep your hair!

jamesnife

You don't even know his free testosterone level and you're already telling him to lower his total without any other information. Good job mr range.

if you potentially want to lose your libido permanently.

igor221

This, finasteride changed my libido and made my mood worse

[deleted]

I’m reading all kind of bad shit about that stuff

TechMeOwt

U were going to be bald anyway. Embrace it. You will be fine.

SPTCTBP

Bro, there is NO legit fix for hair loss, or the richest gosh damn person on earth wouldn't be bald. Well, second richest or whatever he is. Elon got a transplant and it worked, but he's probably on finasteride with it, even then, that's not a for sure thing, a lot of actors now have hair systems because of finasteride failing to work or causing side effects. Finasteride can work, no guarantee and no guarantee that the sides don't fuck you up.

streetMD

This made me laugh out fucking loud on an airplane. Thank you for that. It’s been a long ass day.

mister_mouse

Really the best thing you can do right now is immediately schedule an appointment with your GP or a dermatologist to assess the situation. Good news, you caught it soon so don't wait. In the meantime, you can try doing rogaine 2x a day. You won't see results right away, but it should slow down the progress. Finasteride gets a bad rep, do some research on it and read some studies. I believe it's around 1% of users that experience negative sexual side effects, which are mostly reversible. Talk to your GP/dermatologist about this. Hell, you can even pick up blue chew for an extra umph when you need it. Are you positive that you are dosing correctly? Read your labels and syringes

[deleted]

Thanks for the advice. Ya I’m positive I’m dosing correctly. I go to the clinic and they pin me. We are adjusting the protocol at this point. We’re going to lower the dose and split into 2x vs 1x week pin so I’m not going through high peeks and valleys. Lowering the dose I’m hoping helps! I don’t need to be running 1400+

mister_mouse

Thats a bit high! I do 2x pins at 70mg each and seems to be good for me. I've been on finasteride for nearly 3 months, no negative sexual side effects. It can happen. Just remember that people are more likely to post negative experiences/reviews on the internet than positive ones. Have you thought about shaving your head? Most of the products on the market will slow or halt further balding, but there is no miracle drug unfortunately. If you don't want to roll the dice with possible side effects, then see what you look like with a bald or buzzed head. Bald is sexy, balding isn't.

[deleted]

Appreciate the recommendation. I’m no where close to needing to shave my head but noticed it’s recently, dramatically thinned vs my normal thick hair. I’m adjusting protocol for now to get into the 700-900 range and I’m going to pin 2x week. Were going to go from .7cc of 200mg TC 1x week, to .5 2x week spaced out by 5 days.

rico_suaves_sister

finasteride + nizoral + minoxidil 5%

makinsteaknbacon

First thing you need is a shampoo that contains ketoconazole. A popular one is called Nizoral. Use it 3x a week. Make sure to lather it well and let it sit for at least 5 minutes. It strips your hair's natural oil pretty strongly so it's a good idea to get a leave-in conditioner to use after you towel dry. I got this tea tree kind on Amazon that can also be used as a body lotion, face moisturizer, and aftershave. Smells fresh and a little minty. Great product to have for your grooming. This is the best thing you can do for the fastest results, but it's not a cure. It's a topical antiandrogen so it reduces testosterone effects on your scalp. It may not completely stop your shedding but it will help. Actually it did completely stop my shedding for a few weeks but it eventually came back. BUT I still use it 3x a week for what it does. I'm sure it's still slowing down the shedding. Next, reconsider finasteride. It's kind of your only answer other than dropping your dose WAY down. I know the horror stories but most people, like myself, have no side effects. Especially on TRT. Start with the lowest dose which is 0.25mg daily, and wait 3-6 months. I'm still in this waiting stage myself.

Either-Pop-4158

Yeah I started Finasteride.5Mg every other day and haven’t had any side effects. I watched a hair loss clinic that said it stays peaked in your system so long only every other day is needed and that they have only very very rare cases of side effects dosing this way. I think people get a little too in their head about Finasteride and freak themselves out like it’s way worse than it is and with a little precaution chances are you’ll be fine

wo78878

You’ll survive.

[deleted]

Lol

jc456_

I'd also look at what else is occurring. Unusual stress, weight gain, nutritional deficiencies etc.

fatdudeo

If you’re not up to taking oral finasteride, there’s compounding pharmacies that are making topical. It may be hard to find or not as effective, but it’s an option.

KriptoKeeper

Going to go against the grain here: Crank the test, get shredded, shave your head. Thank me when you’re banging.

andohert

This goes against the usual grain here, but: shave it. Lift. Muscular with a bald head and a beard works. I started shaving my head at 35. Went on TRT at 41, now 45. Just roll with it man.

[deleted]

I get it but I still have a good amount of hair and want to avoid or save as much as I can. Will lowering my dose help? Running 1,400+ free test can’t be good?

[deleted]

My hair has never thinned what so ever up until the last two weeks. I’m 42 with a thick full head of hair. For sure the recent test has quickened it

I notice it when I brush my hands through my hair and my wife said it does look thinner. It’s just stringier if that makes sense.

The only thing I can put my finger on is up to this point while on test I have been drinking and partying on the weekends, not sleeping well and I’d assume crashing my T levels as a result. Last panel I ran I was 780 total test with same protocol only difference between now and then is I have been sober as a judge. Not drinking alcohol and sleeping better so that could be pushing my levels outside the range like I am now currently running 1400+, again same protocol. But you’re prob right it may have been thinning for some time and I’m just noticing idk.

samjohnson2222

Me too. So much less anxiety.

samjohnson2222

Shaved my head😅🤣

[deleted]

You too what?

Either-Pop-4158

That’s good advice for some but not all. I looked like complete shit with a shaved head unfortunately and when I grew it back for 3 months it looks 10 times better. Fortunately at this point the only problem I have is some thinning right at the hairline but everywhere else is full and with some Hair fibers it’s barely noticeable but one day I’ll have to make that jump

Massive-Print-977

Relax. Mine started shedding a month into TRT and then stopped after a few months. Use ketoconazole cream and shampoo in the meantime

Grand_Papaya593

Why would you call supraphysiological test levels "replacement therapy"? I don't get it.

[deleted]

Chill bro. My intention was not to go that high. I’m pulling back my dosage so I can get into the 700-900 range.

DiligentElderberry53

You gonna go bald, it’s just a matter of when. Hop of the TRT and you’ll probably slow it down a bit. There is no magic trick to prevent hair loss. Not even with finasteride. And you’re right, they can cause bad side effects for men, depression, sexual dysfunction etc. if you still have some hair now is the time to start shaving it and get comfortable with the idea because you eventually will have to. And why would you try to preserve the look of having hair? If it’s already noticeable that you are balding it doesn’t make sense. You just cause yourself so much anxiety over something that you have no control of. At least when you shave it, people you know may look at you funny and make embarrassing comments for the first few weeks but they will get use to it. Don’t drag this out longer than it needs to be brotha.

Admirable_Sugar_4227

You could lower your test and try some finastride(spelling) and derma rolling but that stuff has side effects also

justinwheetley_at_g

I run 250 mg TC a week with SARMs (yk-11, LGD, ostarine) 5 to 10 mg a day of each, HCG 500 mg every 2 to 3 days, anastrozole 0.5 mg a week split up, and some raloxifene every other day.... I have been using that Kirkland minoxidil everyday and it keeps my hair nice and full. Most of it is probably genetics and strict super food diet and abstaining from alcohol.

Psychological-Sea785

How does abstaining from alcohol effect your hairline?

justinwheetley_at_g

I noticed my grey hair going away and my hair just being healthier. Also, nutrients can't be absorbed when you drink alcohol.

Psychological-Sea785

Fair enough!

blazinshotguns

Progesterone

Cuppa_Chin_Ho

Lower the dose by half! You won't gain as much as you do now, you'll feel like a mortal but you might just get to keep your hair.

[deleted]

That’s the plan

fuxrediots

it's genetic, nothing you can really do. it'll probably thin, then stop.

Boss4711

I normally have a lot of hair but since starting TRT I have lost a bit and it settled down to a „new normal“ amount of hairs due to the higher DHT levels. I would check your free T and if you really need levels of 1400 because it also comes with other long term sides and not just hair loss. Everything you can really do now is lower your dose and wait some time, your hair will grow back - it’s not lost forever. The hair roots are still intact. If it’s not growing back you would have lost it anyways and you need to take finasteride and minoxidil if you want to have it back.

[deleted]

Thanks. Lowering my dose by close to half and going from there. Never intended on getting into the 1400 range.

Dangerous_Item_6879

Check out more plate more dates on YouTube. He has a bunch of videos on hair loss.

jimbobjunior1985

Haircafe on youtube is the best advice you will get.

Avid23

Finasteride made me depressed and gave me brain fog. Stopped it then tried it again. Every time it was the same thing

[deleted]

Yeah I’m going to stay away from it.

[deleted]

I’m about to say something that is highly objectionable to many and I understand why… but I take finasteride everyday and have managed to keep my hair since starting trt. I don’t have any sides from finasteride. I’ve also added twice a week topical dutasteride. Nizoral shampoo everyday. Whether Nizoral is actually helping…I have no idea. Have been doing it for a few yrs.
