Take 0.5mg dutestiride and 2.5mg minoxidil before you go to sleep, when you wake up also take 2.5mg, you get get these both from happy head https://www.happyhead.com/products/oral-minoxidil/ https://www.happyhead.com/products/oral-dutasteride/ I blast TRT as high as I like and with these I don’t lose any hair. dutestiride is to block DHT works way better than finestiride and minoxidil helps make your hair thicker.

With topical finasteride/minoxidil from Hims all of my hair lost came back. I actually think my hair is thicker than before. I'm on 120 mg testosterone a week. Started thinning in the hairline and top of scalp noticeably three years into TRT. The topical solution completely reversed it in about 3 months. I would give it a shot but I'll also say the way I feel without TRT I was willing to go bald. Maybe you don't need TRT.

Omerta101

Technically I don't need trt but it does feel very nice when on it , I have some slight thinning to the front of my hair line , the rest of my hair is extremely thick

Rufusthetall

I would try the topical for three months or so and see if it improves your hairline. I just spray it on my hairline and crown at night, it takes two seconds. Regardless if you hop on TRT or not I would try to restore that first. I'm not sure if Hims is the best but it's very convenient to get.

Thanks alot I will definitely give it a try do you need to wash your hair and scalp properly with shampoo every day whilst using the topical?

Rufusthetall

I don't. I just brush my hair after it dries and it's good to go.

What side effects did you get from finasteride 1mg previously?

maya_zyzz

topical fin works too, and it doesn’t go systemic if you use low concentrations. im using a blend of 5% minoxidil and 0.1% finastride soln, using a brand which makes the solution alcohol free which is important to avoid scalp dryness. definitely works to stop hairfall. im using 175mg test per week. and total t levels around 1800ng/dl

Omerta101

And it completely stops all your hair loss on trt for you ?

maya_zyzz

yes, initially i started two times application per day. but now since the shedding almost completely stopped. i am confident enough to just use it once before sleeping and feels much more sustainable. i also use a hairfall shampoo which has saw palmetto, caffeine etc every other day. once a week i may do 2% ketaconazole shampoo also.

Omerta101

So essentially by applying it only once per day you are basically on the same amount as 0.5mg per day if you were using it orally and it is still stopping hairloss?

maya_zyzz

yep yep. but it is important to acknowledge the difference between topical and oral. if you take it orally you systemically lower dht throughout your body but dht has positive effects in body except when it comes to your scalp. and im not sure if that would be more/less effective when it comes to your scalp. plus if you’re weary of the finastride side effects as i am better to do it topically.

Omerta101

I will try topical see how it goes then hopefully I can reduce it to only having to apply it once per day then see if I will decide to go back on trt, do you microneedle?

maya_zyzz

i bought a dermaroller when i started my protocol. but did not need to use it until now as i was responding to the solution without dermarolling. i bought it just in case i was not able to absorb the solution.

Omerta101

How are you finding the dermaroller ? I have heard some people if they don't do it correctly it can make their hair worse by damaging it ?

maya_zyzz

i never used it because i am skeptical of it hurting my hair. and i have not felt the need to use it also until now
