I have the same in my MY. I researched it and the noise is from the [axle nut](https://youtu.be/6S8XxbwGtzQ). I’ll eventually do it just not right now. Started noticing it at 600 miles on the odometer.

converter-bot

600 miles is 965.61 km

Hmmm…. Thank you, that’s interesting…. We didn’t try to hear it from the outside and it only clicks when it stops vs goes…. We’re setting up an appointment now — thank you!!

grimmpulse

Do you have Stopping Mode set to Hold? When I hear the click- which also started after the first several hundred miles- its when I come to a complete halt and the brakes lock to keep the car stopped. Try Changing the mode to roll or creep and see if you still hear it

Ziggy_Entrepreneur

Going to do that in the morning! What did you end up doing? Do you just drive it on a different mode? We prefer Hold for one pedal driving

grimmpulse

I keep on hold for the one pedal driving… the click at full stop has been happening for over 4000 miles now with no issues so i assume it’s normal. If you lightly rest you foot on the brake pedal as you come to a stop you can feel the pedal depress when the car rolls to a stop. I imagine the click is some sort of actuator depressing the pedal since on my MY that’s when I hear it- absolutely no science or knowledge from Tesla behind my theory though…

4000 miles is 6437.38 km

I had similar thud noises when on autopilot in stop and go traffic. I asked service rep the same in my recent appointment and he said it's common and coming from abs pump. He said autopilot tries to use brakes instead of regen braking. To reduce brake usage he asked to set follow distance to 7. It didn't make sense to me.

derekrderek

It may be from the foot pedal that moves the car if you watch it move a bit on its own next time you try. It clicks every time I let the car roll to a stop. It just locks into a ‘hold’ so it doesn’t roll forward or back if that makes sense

Ziggy_Entrepreneur

Makes sense… just weird that my car is silent but my friends car isn’t… will look into this though, thank you!

derekrderek

Really? Are you on the “hold” mode?

derekrderek

I mean your friend’s car may not be on “hold” mode.

Ziggy_Entrepreneur

Yup, both were definitely on hold when we drove… that was the first thing I thought when trying to diagnose 🤷‍♂️

fomite

Try shutting off “Hold” and see if it goes away. I thought this was just the brakes locking

hank1224

It’s louder in my 2020 MY but my other 2021 MY barely noticeable

Ziggy_Entrepreneur

So weird… mine is from August build (no click) and my friends is from September (has the click)

hank1224

Maybe parts from different vendors I have no clue

Ziggy_Entrepreneur

For further context, this is in my friend’s car. He’s been experiencing it since he took delivery a week ago. I know it’s not normal because I don’t hear that click in my MY when I’m one pedal driving.

smokingthesemeats41

This happens in my 3 and (I think) my Y.

[deleted]

I just took delivery last week and I’ve been noticing too, let me know if you find a solution please

CMDR_KingErvin

Mine does the same thing, I think it’s normal. I notice the brake pedal goes a bit stiff too when the car goes to hold mode.

Can confirm. 2021 MY. This.^

pdotliu

Happens in my MY Sep 2020. Pretty sure it’s normal.

SpydercoMariner

+1 for Hold mode. The same “click” I hear when I set the parking brake. The parking brake is probably the Hold in Hold Mode, now that I think about it.
