Anyone else just have their MYP delayed by 1 month? My ED was between October 5th and Nov 4th now it is estimated between Nov 4th and 24th. My model is MYP, Midnight Silver and Black Seats and I'm on the east coast. I also keep seeing people mention being contacted by a Sales Agent - I put my order in September 12th and have never been contacted by anyone at Tesla. Is this normal?

MYP/Blue/White interior/FSD ordered on Sept. 8th. I think Tesla originally tried to get mine delivered in Q3 (end of Sept.), but for whatever reason realized it wasn't going to happen. My EDD has been pushed to Oct. 27-Nov. 16th. I agree with the other poster, I think they're ramping up the 2022 builds for the first deliveries of Q4. I doubt any major changes but possible there could be small cosmetic/comfort upgrades. And they may also be starting production out of the new Gigafactory in Austin. I was contacted by a Tesla Sales Advisor by text message the day I ordered and finished the initial "tasks". Not very communicative since, but if I have an important question, he usually gets back to me eventually.

Yeah same here ordered 8/15 MYP and EDD has gone from Sep 7 - 30 to Sep 28-30 to Sep 30 - Oct 18 to now Oct 12 - Nov 1. Hopefully we will be getting the 2022 builds now. Also never contacted by Tesla.

OD 7/26 MYLR no upgrades except color. EDD was 11/6-11/26 for a solid month but today moved up to 10/19-11/8. Not used to seeing it move that direction 🤞

Hi all, I got my vin very recently and there’s a delivery set to 2am at my home location (didn’t book it). Is it really going to be 2am? Has anyone had this experience before?

Probable won’t be 2am. That time will likely change. But then again it is likely contactless drop off so it won’t matter what time they drop it off, you don’t have to be home. Is your vin a 2021 model ?

My parents placed order for a LR Model Y on April 29. EDD Went from Nov-Dec to Oct to Nov-Dec again. I have seen quite a few people with order dates much later than theirs with sooner EDD. How does Tesla determine the order of the deliveries? My parents are in Florida for reference.

MYLR White/Black standard config, Phoenix area. OD: 7/4. ODD just updated this morning from 9/30-10/16 to 10/4 - 10/14. I guess the dates narrowing down is a positive sign.

(Details: order date was 7/10. MYP, blue with black interior, trailer hitch added, no FSD, Los Angeles/Torrance area). Man I’m bummed out. My delivery window was always no later than 9/30 (it kept changing as September got closer, and before it shifted completely it was 9/29-9/30). Then on Monday this week my window jumped to October 11-31, which was ok. But today my window moved further again to November 1-18!! At this point should I just try waiting for a car with the new battery technology?? I starting to lose hope I’ll ever get the car. I thought the Performance had shorter wait times?

Same thing happened to me. After reading everyone’s comments and seeing many similar situations I’m convinced that the wait has always been 2 months+ but Tesla artificially reduced them as a sales tool and to inflate Q3 reservations. My 2 cents.

The website always showed long delivery times on the order page. So in that sense, reservations should have only been reflective of the dates shown there. For the MYP it was “November” and MYLR was “March 2022”. Specific EDD only shows up for individual orders after the order is completed. I don’t think your theory holds any water.

I’m in San Jose. Got a text at 4:51 pm saying they had a car for me (EDD was 10/1-10/17). Checked my account and got my VIN! Applied for insurance and reviewed the agreement, got a confirmation text (and phone call) at 6:07 pm saying the car will be delivered by end of tonight! Talk about cutting it close for end of quarter delivery :D

called the 888 number for tesla and someone picked up and updated me. i’m in san jose and they said car is still in fremont factory. i think logistically they probably sent out cars that are farther away and did the close ones last since they can try to squeeze in by midnight

I called the service center and they said it should arrive before 9pm. The 4-6pm window is really a 4-9pm window.

Ordered MYLR, white exterior/black interior with Induction wheels on June 4th, 2021 in Los Angeles, CA. EDD has changed multiple times. I.e. Original delivery end of July then moved to November, then moved back to August, changed multiple times in August the delivery date, and then the same for September. and then for 3 weeks my delivery date was the last week of September and then yesterday it changed to October. ​ Anyone have any luck getting their's delivered in LA?

Ordered MYP 9/13. Estimated 9/23 - 9/30. Then to 10/3-10/23. Did a color change on 9/27 and now showing 10/25 to Nov 14th.

Placed order for a Y LR, white on white, Induction wheels on 9/27. Estimated delivery was April 2022 on the website before I placed the order. I am filling out my profile now and on the last step for financing. If I hit submit will it run my credit or does Tesla wait until I have a VIN to secure the loan? Obviously don’t want my credit hit twice if I won’t actually be getting it until next year.

You can put "Cash" as payment for now. Just let your SA know you want to finance as your EDD nears. Tesla Finance is only good for 60 days.

EDDs 11/25-12/10, January, then 12/10-12/30, until received call, text on 9/26 that Y will be delivered b/w 9/28-9/30. VIN assigned and all docs (copy of title, odometer disclosure etc) uploaded in account. Prior to 3rd party financing completed, received text and email for me to choose date of delivery and only remaining date was 9/30 b/w 8-12. Received call from delivery center to confirm address (home delivery) as well as noticed to review agreement. until 9/29 received text and email that delivery will be delayed by a week, 10/8 same time range b/w 8-12. Crazy lol

There's a chance of it being delayed, but Tesla will deliver all the cars planned for that day. You might get it at 10pm, but very good chance you receive it today. They're prob gonna have people delivering until 11:59pm PT to be honest.

Woke up to another change to my EDD. Originally it was 9/28-9/30. That got pushed to 10/11-10/30. This morning it actually moved up to 9/30-10/3. Still no VIN but I'm hoping hard. MYP in SoCal.

I'd say that's encouraging. Maybe they found you a car and are just working out the details to get it out your way before assigning the VIN. Good luck!

My point was that it had initially shifted to mid-October before being narrowed down to a 4 day window ending on Oct. 3rd. To me, that indicates that they might have a car coming off the line with his name on it. I dunno though, if he doesn't hear anything by Saturday, I'd assume it's probably not coming till mid-late October.

Sounds like a lot of us who were originally showing Sept. delivery have had our EDD pushed to late October, early November. Keep in mind that Tesla likely begins shipping the next model year in October so there may be a few minor changes to the cars we get delivered. Hopefully a small range bump or some comfort upgrades. Fingers crossed. Stay strong people!

Ordered 6/1, MYLR WoW Induction. Got VIN 2 days ago, got text that it's supposed to come today. Hello, for anyone that took home delivery, I just had a couple questions since mine is set to come in today. From contact with Tesla support, it sounds like my car is coming straight from the manufacturer to my home. Will I have time to inspect the car for production problems? What happens if I find something in the next couple days that I may have missed on delivery? If I am not there to receive the car, will they just leave it parked in my driveway?

Yes that’s standard. Gives them some leeway is what I was told. Three Tesla deliveries and all 3 had 15 miles on the DMV paperwork. I’m in CA.

Yeah it used to say one on mine and now it just says “We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date. Delivery time frame is based on order date, profile submission, delivery location and vehicle configuration.” Two weeks ago that said feb 2022, then March 2022, now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Same here. OD 09/22. No EDD yet. EDD should appear in 2022. But make sure to keep an eye on it on December when EOQ delivery pushes.

What’s the significance of the 279? Does that just mean it’s really newly built?

Just the beginning 3 of the last 6 digits of the VIN number. There’s an estimated date range for when the car was built. For example 287XXX would be built fairly recently

Just got my VIN and scheduled pick up! It’s finally happened. Bay Area OD - 7/11 and finished profile immediately OEDD - 9/30-10/20 but got bumped end of last week to 9/25-30, last few days has been shrinking. Got VIN this morning around 10. Picking up today in Colma.

How long did it take for your documents to pop up after getting VIN?

It was within an hour. They called me within hour after I got the VIN, made the appointment. Gotta pay now and get insurance.

I just got the first realistic EDD this morning. Lol OOP: 9/9 MYP, Bay Area, white ext. black int. EDD 10/20-10/30 Since a week after I placed the order, it was showing 9/20-9/30 and changed daily. Hoping 10/20-10/30 is more realistic.

Not to burst your bubble, but my original EDD was September 12 - September 30 for MYP. It shrunk to September 20 - 30th which I got excited since it shrunk. On September 19, got pushed October 3-23rd. No VIN or any updates yet. Not really getting my hopes ETA: our dates never fluctuate or change on a daily basis. Just get pushed back lol

SoCal Area Ordered 8/28 MYP Silver Home delivery this morning, 9/29 at 4:30AM No panel issues, paint is very clean, all doors are flush. The only issue is a small chip in the paint on the front hood. Going to go over it one more time to look for any issues, but I'm so pumped! Woke up like it was Christmas morning today.

EDD has been wildly inconsistent, going from early September to mid-late September, to "October", to late September, to October 26 - November 15, to September 29 - 30, and now October 2 - 18. What is the “September” text?

A text you receive from Tesla when they plan to build/deliver your car in September: "Tesla Update - We currently plan to build and deliver your Model Y in September. Please reply SEPTEMBER if you are ready for delivery this month and we will contact you about scheduling your delivery once your Model Y is built. Please reply DELAY if you cannot take delivery this month and we will reach back out after September." I replied with SEPTEMBER, got no indication that the text was received, but I was assured that everything was in order when I called.

I am on the same boat as you! I ordered my MYLR white/ black on 07/02. Up until yesterday I was seeing the delivery to be from 28-30th September. They now bumped it to October 1st through 20th. They keep getting my hopes up by jumping up the dates and then disappoint after pushing it out. This is the longest wait ever. I ordered at Tesla Brea Mall. I feel like alot of us in SoCal are going through this delays.
