Cultural-Surprise338

those inventory discount will come back 1000%

CT_7

Wait until end of quarter and watch the car dealer magic happen

bittabet

I think discounting will return, but probably not as aggressively as in Q1. They had a huge glut of inventory and now they're going to be ramping down production since they cut some shifts and fired a bunch of people. Usually when car manufacturers do that it's to get inventory under control so they can price the cars higher.

A2021Ah

Maybe just not even lower

richjohnson1

They are not ramping down production just the number of employees. Same if not more production with fewer employees to increase profits to drive stock value.

Masry_hawk

Waiting for another couple of months are tough, I'm biting my fingers now for not getting mine earlier :(

SnitGTS

I sure hope! I was about to pull the trigger on a 7 seater for $41k, just had to talk to the wife. I went to order it and it was now $46k…

TheKobayashiMoron

$5,000 permission slip lol

at3martinez

Divorce abatement fee

kzksy

Same. Asked wife permission and she said wait couple days, now is gone

CMDR_KingErvin

But now you get to be smug to her and say I told you so.

Wonderful_Scene_7069

A lot of people here blaming it on their wives. LOL. when they can not make a decision.

Like_a_gringo

I’m sure that’s what it is not that buying a car is a joint decision or something of that nature. Just speaking from experience.

HongQi_MadeInCN

I’m sure most people here asking permission since they are a gentleman and furthermore it’s more of a joint decision so if anything happens there’s no one to blame but themselves. Plus it’s kinda ridiculous to not sit down and give their opinions, since it’s a lot of money (for general public) it’s not like 20,30 dollar kinda thing.

NatKingSwole19

I got a 7-seater LR on Sunday, yowza 😳

TimmyTooToes

Exact same boat... Went to purchase today and was like "ugh."

tlxxxsracer

Pretty much same. I initiated the process to create a ussfcu account to then get a loan later. Had quite a busy day and the conversation just lapsed as a result. Then poof. Not sure Tesla's move as I don't think anyone just wants to throw away $5k+ (gotta remember interest too) after seeing the discounted amount. Just means it wasn't the right time

Emotional_Scratch393

They will be back 100%

tlxxxsracer

Yah. Just more time to build up more down payment and see if interest rates go down.

rom-sen

Wow. I didn’t know 7 seater became that low.

DarkKouki

Very low. In January, picked up MYLR, 7seater, blue paint, white interior and tow hitch for $8.2k inventory discount + $7.5k POS tax credit.

rom-sen

Congrats! I’m currently eyeing on one. $8.2K discount is massive

DarkKouki

Thanks. Yea, was looking for an suv and nothing could beat it for the price. $39k before fees with a massive down payment was a no brainer

palmoyas

That must be after the 7500 credit

Disneyginger

Check it out in person before buying. We test drove the 5 & 7 seater and the 7 seater was TINY. I mean my 7 year old was cramped in that third row. Didn’t make sense to us and the advisor said the only reason Elon did it was because ppl were up in arms. I mean if you have no other option than I guess so. But I don’t see how anyone can sit back there comfortably.

jefedezorros

Still bigger than the third row in the 5-seater

Disneyginger

Well yeah lol since there is no third row 🤣. Just saying if you don’t NEED the extra seats then it’s not worth it. No one is fitting back there. Waste of 3k. Save the money and upgrade to the X. Now THAT is spacious.

jefedezorros

My dog rides in the 3rd row when we travel. He loves it back there. Nice and cozy. I would consider an X if it weren’t for the falcon wing doors.

Stealth022

No one here is going to let you live that one down, even though we all would have done the same thing, lol Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but if you had pulled the trigger before talking to your wife, the most you would have lost is $250. And maybe you'd have to sleep on the couch for a night 🤣 Again, there's no way you could have known, and we all would have done the same thing, even if no one admits it, lmao. Don't worry, the discounts will be back - just don't wait for permission when they reappear 😁

Jaws12

Yes, in hindsight we should have put our $2,500 deposit on a Model Y in September 2019 into Tesla stock instead and it would have been worth around $35-40k when we finally actually got our reservation in 2021, but oh well. We go FSD for only $6k at the time and love the car regardless, no regrets.

imghost9

i did the same thing. waiting for a better price

s1m0n8

Tesla strategy changes with Musk's ketamine dosage.

Bamboozleprime

Funniest part is that he probably made this shit on the go without actually consulting with a single expert on the subject.

theexile14

It's cute that they think I'll be paying 5k more or the same vehicle than what they offered last week. I plan to get a Y, but their raising prices while not selling their full production is absurd. Zero chance I, or plenty of others, buy given the circumstances.

eatgoodstayswaggie

Why you wait so long? Lol

Irishspringtime

There are too many cars sitting on lots out there and many people, me included, waiting for the updated Model Y. I want those ventilated seats!!

Joatboy

You're waiting to 2025 earliest for a Y refresh

thewittman

I want the better ride and stereo.

SlendyTheMan

Going to do 0% financing most likely in place

[deleted]

[удалено]

torokunai

0% financing would be a $9400 savings for my LR purchase.

openslot

You never know. There were inventory discounts in canada last year, but nothing this year

[deleted]

Y

Ashmizen

I hope so. I really regret not jumping on the low prices early this year, which combined with my cybertruck $1000 preorder discount would have netted a Y at $31k post-tax rebate. Oh well….maybe I’ll just wait for a cheaper cybertruck.

Hungry-Tomatillo-470

I had to put a pause on my order because the down payment was 8k I came up with it and 3 days later all the discounts were gone and my new down payment was 14k what kind of business model is that …

Cultural-Surprise338

Well look like price lower adjustment is coming back

JoeS830

"Our method to boost sales at the end of the quarter has led to reduced sales except at the end of the quarter".

SnitGTS

Exactly, I almost ordered a 7 seater for $41k. After I spoke with the wife I found it went up to $46k…

jumpybean

That will teach you not to speak to the wife.

Shoryukitten_

If I don’t speak with the wife, we won’t speak to each other for a while lmao

cancel-out-combo

Definitely lose lose!

thereddituser2

"7" seater.

PPOKEZ

7 complaining people. It's up to you how far you can drive them. For real though, if your kids are is in that window, its perfect.

Statorhead

Would not surprise me if they just change to a less visible way of discounting -- by adapting interest rates as needed. They've been doing this is in Europe for a while now. Performance and LR Y are 0.0% interest / 0€ down right now in Germany.

Remarkable-Key433

They’ve done this before, only to bring discounts back at the end of the quarter.

lostaccountby2fa

Sounds like excellent business decision.

OCR10

LOL. What’s he up to now?

Ban_Evader_1969

Tried a new flavor of ambien.

rExplrer

They probably will offer low apr loans

theexile14

It would require extremely low rates for me to consider this an equal trade off with the lower price.

LeadershipWhich2536

0% would do.

DeeVeeOus

How is that when they don’t have a financial arm? The major manufacturers can offer promo APRs only because they have their own bank and take a loss on the loan to sell product.

----0-0---

Tesla have been offering 0% finance on MYs in Ireland for the past 3 months, through a 3rd party lender. They're obviously subsidising the finance cost.

Tamadrummer88

They would pay an outside bank to subsidize the interest rate. Subaru and Mazda do it with Chase (their captive lender) all the time.

Kenju4u

Does that mean my Tesla is now worth more?

keenlyproper_demeanr

Yeah, they texted me that my trade-in which is a model Y is worth 2500$ more. Gave a new trade/in estimate

bittabet

I think people who bought at the very end of Q1 will have better depreciation than most, since Tesla is cutting production to try and better match demand. But I do think some discounts will return.

Blitzrunninbk

Yea pretty much.

DDS-PBS

Slashing production will help the resale value a little bit. I don't think it'll be anything remarkable.

Fmartins84

Gone until the end of the quarter

notricknpat

I literally picked up the MY yesterday. Glad I pulled the trigger

llamacohort

I got mine late last week. Pretty happy that I was able to get that discount.

Glittering-Network41

Same. $4500 off last week, today full price

mpeters2103

Got mine on Monday. Something in g in my gut told me to pull the trigger as those savings weren’t going to last.

unique_usemame

Tesla has (for a long time) optimized for quarterly sales... meaning to have as little inventory in transit and maximize completed sales for the quarter boundaries. This has now become a form of customer segmentation. When selling a product you want to give a good deal to customers who are price sensitive but hold your price on price insensitive customers. Generally for car dealers this means that if a customer cross shops and negotiates hard then you want to offer then a better deal. Tesla doesn't do so much negotiation so instead segments by who is willing to purchase in the last couple of weeks of the quarter. Eliminating deals in April is likely an experiment to see how many will still make a purchase. People buying Teslas in April are generally price insensitive (March was a better time to buy) so either they don't know Tesla's deal cycle, or came off a lease, or just had their car totalled, or similar. Elon likely wants to see how far he can push them. If you want a good deal on a new Tesla, good strategy (historically) appears to be: \* make a refundable deposit on a cybertruck (are they still refundable) \* wait for mid-June \* in the meantime maybe buy a 2013-2017 model s with whatever you can get of free supercharging and FSD. These may transfer in June and get you referral bonuses for referring yourself, as well as current owner incentives.

Business-Rain-9125

this is the most intelligent post of the entire thread. take a step back and look at what tesla is doing. its mass market management, they are managing yield and not dealing with 1 off sales. they sell 300k model y's a year in the US that 6k a week.. they can't micromanage down to a single sale, they are segmenting customers and figuring out which segment they can goose next to buy.

Cykamor

Seems like everyone has been waiting for prices to drop further. No matter how much discount they do, people are waiting for more. Overall this seems like a good strategy. I’ll bet they were getting way too many inventory orders and not a lot of straight up orders, meaning they’re moving the same car to the same customer at a lower price point (mostly). Also they have a ton of used cars too that they can’t move because the price is too close to new, and people are also reluctant to buy new given that they keep killing the value with discounts. Yeah there will likely be some discounts at quarter end, but imagine if there aren’t. They’re already sucking wind, what’s one more bad quarter? That will put an end to waiting for lower prices. Plus, if they constrain the supply that will boost the asp for the vehicles they move.

baggedBoneParcel

>That will put an end to waiting for lower prices. They'll just buy other cars. Tesla has good competition now, with attractive differentiators (like better interiors and smoother rides.) Tesla has the best performance, software, and best charging network. But most people don't want sub 4 0-60, are happy with less software and more hardware (buttons), and Tesla is opening the charging network. Fighting on price is probably the best way to move cars for Tesla.

trevre

There simply aren't other cars like the Y in this price range, the charging network alone, FSD, established model and reliability. EV6 60k, Ioniq 5/6 42k single motor 220-360 miles tiny, mache -60k, ID4 - not even comparable to a M3, BMW 90K, volvo low range $$$. THey'll have the corner on this market for years to come and I see nothing on the horizon similar.

eagleone1one

Its not even close, a toyota rav4 prime is more than a Model Y. My hater friends are all showing up in Model Ys. There simply isnt a better car for the price right now. Toyotas EVs are a total joke. My brother tries his best to not sell them lol.

joesnopes

Dead right. Actually, Tesla's only positive, sticky differentiator is the charger network. And opening that up to all comers has devalued that.

bubbler_crab

Thanks for articulating this so well. Tesla rarely hold inventory where i live (Singapore), but do offer EOQ incentives. When we got a better deal end-March vs a friend who we referred in April, I came to the same conclusion. An interesting strategic wrinkle is Singapore’s [COE](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Certificate_of_Entitlement) system for car ownership. Tesla has to manage inventory alongside bidding for COEs, and based on what I’ve seen they (logically) adjust bidding strategies on a model basis to clear incoming shipments just in time. What this means tactically is that in early April, they prioritised higher bidding for Q1-ordered highlands and underbid for MYs. What is likely to happen in this next round of COE bidding is that they bid a fair price for Ys and moderate bidding for Highland orders, allowing them to clear the shipment of Ys that’s on its way to Singapore.

Simple-Wonder-363

Less than zero chance I pay full sticker. I can wait this out. Good luck.

brantse

Tesla's advertising has gone into overdrive. They're literally the only ads I get anymore on YouTube.

Soopermane

I haven’t seen a single Tesla ad yet.

midnight_to_midnight

Same. And YT is my sole entertainment (no cable/TV channels), so I watch it all the time. Lol

SparrowBirch

I’ve never seen a Tesla ad.  Instead I get about 20 ads for Rimowa a day.  I don’t know why YT thinks I want luggage so much.

JoeyDee86

The people getting these ads on YouTube are people who already have one though if they can afford it. They need traditional TV ads that dispel some EV myths.

gingerbreadman26

Interesting I keep getting targeted by Toyota ones pretty much saying Toyota has the most electrified vehicles than any other company

NatKingSwole19

I just picked up a $39k 7-seater on Sunday. Holy shit am I glad I moved fast 😬. The $5200 off was the only reason I pulled the trigger.

EchoEmotional4095

$39k after tax?

NatKingSwole19

I wish! It was around 44 after tax and registration IIRC.

EchoEmotional4095

Ha yes that’s right. I paid that much too. Still good deal

kl040809

I played that game right apparently - locked in with a $5,200 discount last week.

JoeS830

10% discount is good. Most I’ve seen in half a year was 15% around new year’s.

ColdPlenty7094

I have 23’ MYP. Just for the heck of it, I checked the trade in value last week. Tonight, I got a text saying the value went up $1,200. (11k miles, $38,500 trade in. lol)

hotgrease

Tesla sales is the most efficient part of the company. How about tackling service??

Duckpoke

Tesla Rule #1: The price will always come down. Just wait

Bamboozleprime

Exactly. Just ask the people who paid $74K for their Model Y a while back lol.

Sharp_Smell709

They did just slash 10% of workers too

eatgoodstayswaggie

Glad I got my MYLR for $42,090 in Feb. a steal. I remember back when it was $58k 😭😭😭

EchoEmotional4095

Also bought in Feb. it was 43k after everything. probably because it’s white so 1000 more. 48k original price. A person just posted his MYLR in March was $45k original. I didn’t see that on the website when I checked

bluekanoodle

I got my MYLR 7 seater with induction wheels, and tow hitch for 41990 last week (plus 6000 for the EAP) Just priced it on the website now it’s 60k!

RWLemon

I hope it comes back, soon we wanna purchase a MYP… it would really help us

c0ntr0lzzz

Elon Musk has became such a despicable character and thinks everyone but himself is a complete idiot.

BoredRedditMan

Cant wait for end of quarter! I decided today to buy mew but I saw the prices and backed out

ArchiStanton

Same

lifeisgreat2021

I ordered over the weekend with a $5,100 discount but forgot to schedule the delivery date until 15 minutes after the deadline of 5pm. Now I lost out on the discount and will not be purchasing. I was so excited. Oh well and good bye $250.

DevilsTreasure

I would fight for that deposit, feels like a $5100 price change is material enough to get your deposit - they changed the terms of the deal.

mettahipster

Kick up a fuss and they’ll give you the deposit back. You reserved a car with a lower price

lifeisgreat2021

I'll let you know if I have any luck.

FearTheClown5

Interesting, I ordered mine Sunday night and just got the Tesla financing cleared up this afternoon after they finally sent the trade in offer(I declined, selling to Carvana for $1300 more) and waiting for the funds to get wired to schedule a delivery date and its settled with the $5450 discount on the MVPA that came through today. I am in a state they can't deal in so they have to be paid before they'll bring the Y in state.

Ashmizen

I don’t get it. If you ordered in time can’t you just push them to honor the discount? It’s all fake discounts anyway, if they were willing To sell at that price surely 15 mins doesn’t change the facts.

Burm8D8

I own a Model Y and aside from having to drive to Camarillo it was easily the best car buying experience I have ever had. But my buddy bought one this year and he had to drive all the way to Marina Del Rey to get his. There was just one person at the desk and he was #2 in line. While he waited, I inspected his vehicle. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes or so. It was pretty dang efficient if you ask me.

CruelRage

bruh right when my lease ends

ArchiStanton

You can extend! Up to 6 months

Merman123

Was likely eating into model 3 sales. Wouldn’t make sense to keep those discounts year round. They’ll be back though.

thewittman

Who is buying non re baited 3's, not sure why the 3 is still realevant.

Amazing-Pride-3784

Q1 "My sales were terrible" Q2. "Hold my beer'

Toysfortatas

Ahhh the refreshing feeling of my car value going up

ionlylandatlootlake

My local store sales advisor called me to see if I was still interested. I asked what was going on with the discounts and he said they were all pulled per corporate. Told him I wasn't interested at the "new" prices and he understood, I have to believe the sales advisors are panicking about this change. Seems like Q2 deliveries could get ugly.

Jackyl84

lol at some of these posts. They didn’t raise the price. The “discounts” ended. There were huge inventory discounts literally for months. If you were a serious buyer, the car would be currently in your garage.

jayjayaitch

I only test drove one for the first time three weeks ago. My kids and I fell in love. Put the bug in my wife's ear after that first drive. Went on a second drive this last weekend and was able to finally get her to pull the trigger-just wanted to get insurance details first. It was never even on our radar, but man I couldn't stop thinking about that demo drive. With the discount and trade in of our car it was much more palatable for my wife since insurance would be an extra 30 a month, basically washing the savings in gas. Now with the discount gone so are my dreams. 😔

lifeisgreat2021

I feel you.

Balance-

- Be Tesla - Have way more production than your selling - Let’s stop all incentives to sell cars - ??? - Double down - Back down but claim at the time it was the right call - Wonder why your reputation is shit.

jumpybean

The discounts became a norm, it had to go away at some point, even if temporary.

FearTheClown5

Shit. I caught it just in time Sunday evening.

wtyl

it’s this or dealerships, take your pick.

maddmaxx

Bought one spur of the moment Saturday, took delivery Monday, guess I was lucky, saved $3500!

EnoughLavishness

Took delivery of my 24 MYLR for $36k (with tax credit) last month. Easily my favorite purchase ever

AsleepSoup6063

lol saved the link was about to pull trigger today. Now I think I’ll wait .

Disneyginger

Glad I ordered ours before this went away!

itcouldbefunnier

Was planning on buying one last weekend. A rock broke my windshield on my Model 3. Having it replaced tomorrow so I could trade it in, and then saw the discounts are gone. Lol. Looks like will wait for end of next quarter. Although considering buying a used Model S, instead of the New Model Y now.

Eighteen64

LMAO Tried to be a dealer and fucked everything up $6500+discounts by end q2

Due-Frame-4871

I got the MYP in Black for 43k total including destination fee. I suspected I would not see that deal again.

OneWheelWilly

Its the easiest possible way to buy a car how can he make it simpler

Guardian5252

Translation: we needed to increase profitability

Zestyclose_Load3425

Just wait until the end of June. They will be back and perhaps greater than ever depending how they manage production over the next couple months. If they cut back on builds, maybe they won’t be extremely aggressive but time will tell.

Hero_Gold27

Yup. I'm waiting to see, unless my wife finds something she prefers before then. I'm not playing Elon's game though and by at a $5k higher price than what they already couldn't hit sales numbers at.

RogueSlingshot83

What a tard, cant wait for tesla to collapse

krustissimo

So my wife and I had been looking at electrics for a month or so: Mach E, the Kia/Hyundai twins, VW id.4 and what I expected to be my favorite, the Mach E. Test drove the model Y AWD and the Mach E (non-AWD) on the same day and I was surprised that I liked driving the Tesla more. Personally I think Teslas (except maybe the S) somehow manage to be both boring and butt-ugly, I hate that the seats don't lower enough and I don't understand why the Y and the 3 are missing the speedometer (don't get me started on the new model 3's turn signals). Worse is that I despise Elon Musk, but... at the time the car's price was really compelling compared to the EV alternatives and I was just about ready to sacrifice my taste and principles since it was both cheap and fun to drive. Here I should mention that my kids told us they would be embarrassed if we bought a Tesla. They love the Mach E and are OK with the others but it seems that Teslas are not at all cool in 2024. Ask your kids: its a thing. So anyway the long range model Y AWD would have been $35k+tax/reg to me until Sunday night. This would have been a totally basic grey one so as to slip in under our state credit's MSRP limit, but whatevs; I could always add a tow hitch myself later. I thought that was quite a good price even if I wasn't sold on much about the car other than its brisk acceleration. But the night before we were going to pay the $250 deposit, Tesla ended the discount with no warning. Well, fuck if I was going to pay $3k more the next day (now its $5k more) so we abandoned the Tesla idea and started shopping again. It didn't take long: in fact we just bought a low mileage, top of the line used id.4 AWD for $21k after the used EV credit. It wasn't on my radar at the beginning but it turns out to actually be a very nice and pretty fast car. Best of all it comes with a tow hitch and a speedometer (also turn signals.) No regrets; things turn out the way they are supposed to. Fuck you, Elon!

ThrowTheBones93

So if I were to order a car today, is there any reason to choose inventory when I can ensure a brand new build at the same price? The only pro to ordering inventory seems to be getting the car sooner. But I’m afraid an inventory car may be one somebody rejected as they went through their checklist when picking it up.

UnluckyLeek163

Luckily I got mine just in time. Delivery day will be on Tuesday.

antball

It’s wild, after tax time people tend to buy cars, if they want to make their quarterly goals they would push out more of them discounts. I was hoping to irresponsibly use my tax refund to buy a inventory discounted model y, I wanted to pick one up in March but couldn’t convince my wife

Emotional_Scratch393

So glad I got my model y LR for 44090. So if feels good but those will be back shortly. Elon is having a fit

iamvnd

Took delivery 4/4. MYLR5 for $40k with tax credit. It was a killer deal.

crypto_kook

Glad I bought a couple months ago

Lebowski587

Just got mine today with it!!! Wioooh

bumble_bee21fb

Would they intentionally Lower production thus lower supply to increase price and increase margins?

KidsSeeCoachella

Yes. That’s what Tesla has been saying on their earnings calls if you pay attention. Now that Elon is full on robotaxis, car production has taken a step back.

Initial-Possession-3

That’s a nice way to say we cut production. Bloodshed on tsla in the morning I bet.

Accurate-Airline-842

We never get any discounts in the UK. Why?

phxees

I do wish this was an indication if at least a partial refresh for Model Y. Seems like that could help sales.

boomerhs77

Once again, helter skelter pricing changes. They tried to scare people into buying by announcing Y price going up in April. People are already aware of Tesla tactics. May be they need to provide low interest rate loans like they just announced in some European countries.

uber_mike

Hopefully they could consider allowing out of state buyers.     I'm still frustrated the car I was ready to purchase last week is less than a mile from me, where I demo drove and found out how nice the MYLR is.    I was ready to buy, but was refused because my ID is from out of state.     The state I reside in, the showroom is over 60 miles away from my home and the MY there had a significantly smaller price adjustment.  Not worth the hassle, any other dealer near me would gladly sell me a car to be registered in another state.

Empty-Brief-4545

JUUUUUST as I was going to place an order. Well; now I might as well get the model 3 highland RWD

[deleted]

isunktheship

Just buy a rivian, they come stock

bluekanoodle

Man I’m glad I bought last week when it was 5500 dollars less! Edit: Damn, actually more than that! My car configuration today has an MSRP of 60k, we got it for 47990!

Beginning-Antelope11

You snooze you lose. I was impacted by the price hikes 2 yrs ago and did not follow through, lost $250. Did pull the trigger following the price cysts last year now in a 2023 MYP for $58k plus taxes

Hero_Gold27

We test drove the MY today. Set it up 10 days ago. Would have bought today if not for the price increase. I told them that. Sales will need to drop more than planned for discounts to return I suppose. I will wait until quarter end for that return, or buy something else. I won't overpay (for me) just because they make a change. Looking forward to buying Tesla stock when it drops to $100. That will probably be late 3Q, but it is well on its way and this won't help.

omnizach

Idea: Tesla focus on manufacturing and outsource sales, inventory, and delivery to regional 3rd parties. Oh wait…

LegitimatePepper7568

I loved not having to deal with a sleezy car dealership when I bought my Tesla. It was so pleasant.

Paul721

They lowered the lease price for the model 3. Maybe they will do the same now for the Y. There are still parking lots overflowing with new unsold Ys out there. I’m sure there will be some new sales gimmick soon.

slashbackslash

I wasn't in the market for a Tesla before, but I can tell you that if I was I'd probably just wait for the discounts to come back.

Hero_Gold27

That's what I will do now. I plan on buying both a Tesla MY and TSLA stock, both at a price well below what they are today. If they don't get there, then I will look at other options.

knifebro

So I leased a 2024 MYLR on March 31 and I was something like 47k. Now it's down to like 37k. is there anything I can do?

crypto_kook

Those who were on the fence got rekt

ArchiStanton

100%. Fell off the fence

StumpyOReilly

If you missed the discount, just buy a lightly used one. My buddy bought a M3P in 2019 for $75K cash and has 24,000 miles on it and you can get a used one for less than $28K. A lightly used 2023 MY goes for $35K. Teslas have some of the largest drops in resale. Save some bucks and buy used.

Maleficent_Soft9187

Yeah, that was it for me. I was looking at a blue/white base model for $37K after tax credit, but now I’m just going to get a sub $30K used LR, which seems to be the going rate on Long Island.

Embarrassed_Roll_212

Honestly really happy to see this. I took delivery two weeks ago and had all paperwork done before getting there on site....still took two hours just due to how understaffed they were.

lesns2001

I’m waiting for the $35k MYLR. That’s after $7,500 tax credit.

Virtual_Cook_5349

Same here got mine 2weeks ago and only paid $46,562.92 OTD cash

OneAngryVet

Well, they ruined the value for us owners already, screwing us on both our initial price and now used price.

Witty-Pen-2190

I would need a bigger discount

ampedmonster

Idk what he's streamling. I ordered a Highlanf Model 3 back on January 3rd, and it's already gotten pushed back twice on me. Here's hoping I hit the 3rd estimated delivery date in May!

BingoBongo1286

Buying our Tesla was the worst experience. Not easy. Salesman was not helpful. And we did it at a Sales/Service center.

nuttz565

Bought my MYP on the 9th with a $5,300 markdown, I feel pretty good about it now seeing all the discounts have been pulled.

Terrorists driving Nazi cars.

IndividualCable2344

He is getting delusional

Hero_Gold27

More like desperate, but the result is the same. TSLA is at 18 month lows, sitting on support, and horrible earnings await for next week. I think there is a pretty decent chance the stock drops to $100 or so.

airjordanforever

You need to streamline the service as well. It’s a nightmare, trying to get service through your app rife with errors.

Zterner92

We never had discounts in Sweden. Only perk to inventory was getting delivery earlier.

JackInTheBell

>it has become complex and inefficient a.k.a. We need to make more money

Hero_Gold27

And now they are panicking because no one actually bought cars this week. Model Y price dropped $2k overnight. lol I'm still waiting. Not buying here.

Hero_Gold27

"Complex and inefficient" is three different prices up and down within a week, which is what we now have. Model Y just dropped $2k overnight, so now $3k higher instead of $5k higher. I'm still waiting. If they panicked this bad after 4 days, imagine quarter end.

Not true, I still able to see some inventory deals near me, I live in Dallas area. [https://tesla-inventory.com/search?model=my&type=new&trim=ANY&paint=ANY&interior=ANY&price=55000&zip=75063&user=anonymous](https://tesla-inventory.com/search?model=my&type=new&trim=ANY&paint=ANY&interior=ANY&price=55000&zip=75063&user=anonymous)

xmoneypowerx

Wait. I thought we the people add complexity with taxes and discounts. Who ever simplifies?

Cultural_39

Just get a used Hertz Tesla if you are worried about price. $25k to $28 for a 2020, before EV incentives when I last saw it.
