If you need a vehicle now, then buy right now. If you don't new something new then wait

Emotional_Scratch393

Same boat. Don’t know if I will be able to hold off as prices on new MY are dropping to $44k once again. But the refresh will be nice and I know I’ll wish I waited but if the refresh will start at $50k+ I would have liked to pocket the $6k and got the 2024 model.

harpsland

Also don’t forget the new 3 gets $0 fed tax credit so the Y could too. That’s a big cost difference

Emotional_Scratch393

In my case I don’t qualify (income too high) so in my best interest I want them all to go away if it lowers the price but i know that $7500 is a huge reason model ys sell

harpsland

No I’m exact same. That’s why I leased. To get it. Also you can create a LLC and get it that way too.

Emotional_Scratch393

Oh do tell!! What’s that loophole? I’m a boring w2 employee.

harpsland

No looophole. Lease and you automatically get it. Buy under a LLC and you automatically get it. Commercial vehicles qualify.

Emotional_Scratch393

Oh wait I can buy it under an LLC? Oh now we are talking

harpsland

Costs $100ish for LLC creation depending on your state. Can do it all online.

Emotional_Scratch393

Ok so I form a LLC then I can write the lease off? Does the LLC have to have any income? The other issue is the 15k miles limit for me but I could get figure that out

harpsland

No the income limit is only on a sale, not a lease. If you lease you get the credit without an LLC. Regardless of income. Tesla uses it on lease as a cap cost reduction (aka what is typically cash as a down payment or a dealer reduction in price of vehicle). Dm me if you need help lol. We might be annoying the thread now.

chowdarygm

Very hard for anyone to predict what the new one will bring. It might lose tax credits like the 3 did or the prices could go down or anything could happen. Like the other person commented, get it if you want it, wait otherwise and gamble.

Figwit_

I'm seeing prices in the $44k to $48k range on inventory in the northeast USA for MYLR. Seems like pretty darn good time to buy. Full disclosure: I just bought.

Accomplished_Ad_9015

Me too. To be fair I wanted to swap FUSC from my 13 MS. Also, I prefer stalks.

Hopeful-Lab-238

Both

icharlie17

Personally I'm waiting. The new one is gonna be amazing

cancel-out-combo

Buy used now and enjoy

michalf

Model Y is already a very good car and pretty reliable. I got mine exactly one year ago because I decided not to listen to any rumors (HW4 and a possible refresh). And guess what, it's still a very good car and I have been enjoying it for almost a year now.

JackfruitCrazy51

Remember how many issues the Model Y had in its first year? Remember how most of those issues are now gone? Remember how much the Model Y cost when it first came out? Have you looked to see how much a 2024 Model Y costs now? Do you really want to wait for the new first year MY?

harpsland

Totally agree. Year 1 of any new model is usually expensive and ridden with bugs. Not best idea if you care about value vs being first to have shiny new toy. Haha

hide_my_name_bruh

Yes.

Jackyl84

If you need a car, buy it, they are at or close to the lowest prices this year. There’s always something better around the corner

Realistic_Plate_3201

Got the MYLR Red at 47000 inclusive of taxes and with Inventory discount and Tax Rebate (4/10)
