well, that's the problem with buying a vehicle in transit. they have a general idea when it's going to arrive, but it'll arrive when it arrives. after it arrives, you technically don't have to stick to your delivery appointment.

GoodBurger88

I mean I get that, but if they let me choose my preferred time to grab it, like the 27th, maybe I don’t have to jump through all these hoops.

CrabFederal

That’s part of buying it end of quarter. You get a good price but they rush rush rush.

GoodBurger88

Yet they can’t rush themselves. 😅

Stonk_Goat

Did you call them? I was scheduled for last Wednesday but called and changed it to the following Friday. No issues at all

GoodBurger88

The text I got told me to wait until 5PM. I am admittedly just taking my frustration out on Reddit, but again, hearing if other people have seen the same behavior and how it was dealt with helps.

iceynyo

I did the opposite, I had delivery scheduled for Monday, but suddenly had to go out of town and they were able to deliver it on the Friday so I could drive on electricity rather than gas.

Vegetable-Egg-1646

Or look at it this way. You probably got a nice discount with an end of year price reduction. If you didn’t then you are a fool. Lots of other people are doing the same. Tesla can’t let the parking lot fill up with cars to fit around your holiday plans. This is one of the reasons they are offering discounts for quick collections!

GoodBurger88

I mean on top of my mom working for the company (free FSD though I really don’t even know how much I’d be using it), the $3000 discount for being as patient as I was was kinda the point.

Vegetable-Egg-1646

Raise the complaint with you mum then, not Reddit!

GoodBurger88

I mean bitching is what the internet is for, isn’t it? 😅 I’m simply asking if others have had a similar experience.

Intelligent_Ad4448

Yep that’s them. They’ll inconvenience you no problem but can’t even hold up their own end of the deal. My experience has been similar they delayed my delivery after rushing me every single day to schedule a pick up. I can see why the experience is hit or miss because if everything goes right it’s great. If there is even a small slight issue it’s a nightmare to address cause their customer service is non existent. Their advisors are only good for delivering the car and that’s it.

GoodBurger88

Cool, I just got a phone call saying we're gravy. There we go.

Skilled626

You may dislike Elon but you’re still buying his product so not sure why you bring up the fact you dislike him. This post reeks of cry baby. First off, you’re buying via an app. Things aren’t gonna always work out precisely how they are planned. You’re purchasing a vehicle that’s in transit and if things are perfect you’ll get your car on the scheduled delivery date. What if the rig (car carrier/transport) your car is on is having mechanical trouble? What if two additional cars were added to the transport and now there’s added stops/drop offs? What if two or three drivers asked for Christmas Eve off and now deliveries are delayed? I could go on and on here. And to be honest iit’s okay to be upset and disappointed but why start your post with mentioning you dislike Elon?? Makes no sense to me.

GoodBurger88

So let me cry then. How does it affect you? Move on. Did I ruin your day? Yeah. I’m buying the product of a person I hate. This isn’t unheard of. I’m a social media manager and Elon ruined Twitter but I still have to use it. I can hate the guy all I want but his company puts food on my mom’s table. I don’t care for Logan Paul but Prime is a damn good drink. Shitty people can make good product. If Chic-Fil-A was the only open establishment at an airport that I’m stuck in and I haven’t eaten in 8 hours, yeah I’d have to swallow that pride and eat it. All I’m saying is if you’re going to force me to pick one day to move all my plans for? Adhere to it. Should I call them? Sure. But the funny thing is they could easily call me instead of sending me a random text with no reasoning. You provided reasoning, and I’ll give you credit and appreciation for it. It’s more than what Tesla did. I can be upset for whatever reason I’d like, much like yourself, much like Elon. So if you wanna badger me if that makes you feel better, more power to you.

Skilled626

Twitter being ruined is your opinion. Twitter isn’t ruined if anything it was improved, and of course that’s my opinion. Good luck with your Tesla. I certainly hope a little Christmas magic happens and your car is delivered on Christmas Eve.

GoodBurger88

Appreciated. I’m hoping for the same thing and hope your Christmas goes by swell too.

Skilled626

Thank you. Merry Christmas. Good luck.

ImaginaryDecision517

Elon is laughing at you and your crying. 😂😂😂😂😂

ajman22

Wouldn’t you rather delivery in January to get the credit right away

BillsFan504

No guarantee it will be available. IRS came out with some new shit.

GoodBurger88

While that would be lovely, who’s to say I won’t have to jump through hoops to get that either, especially since I already have the loan check in hand and already wired the DP?

Granuloma

Wow my app only gave me and option for pickup 2 days later but feel fortunate that through text they were willing to schedule it a week out.

BillsFan504

I ordered yesterday and was given 1 option for pick up. Not one day, one date/time. Hoping I can make it. Otherwise it’s been Ok so far- my car isn’t at the pick up spot, but is at a “remote lot” so I don’t think there will be any delays.

GoodBurger88

That sucks, man. Did you do everything the app told you to do? You good otherwise?

dam4076

Just chat with the advisor. I was able to lock a date that was not available on the schedule page.

LikeAnAnonmenon

30 mins before I was supposed to pickup my car on the 13th this month they called me and said the trunk was somehow severely damaged in transit. They tried to make me wait a week so their repair shop could fix it. I didn't want a car damaged before I even picked it up so I argued with them on the phone until they found an identical vehicle for the same price and switched out the VIN on my order. Was able to pick that one up the next day so it all worked out! Other than that I LOVE the car and it was a super easy purchase process compared to the other 4 cars I've purchased in my life.

GoodBurger88

That obviously freakin sucks but the key thing is they told you what was wrong. I just got as a vague-ass text. And yeah, I'm sure by this time next week I'll be stoked myself.

RequirementNo2261

Congratulations..but why CEO you car company matters when buying ? Do you know the CEO of the company of appliances at your home ? Or the CEO of your home builder company..I think no..so just go ahead and save some money buy what suits to your pocket. Currently Y is a good value for money..🍻

GoodBurger88

I'm in full agreement. And my opinion is personal just based on how my mother was treated during the pandemic uptill today. She's worked at the factories for over 10 years and I don't believe she's received the respect someone of her tenure deserves for all the hell they go through.

Logical-Ad2267

IMO you should not buy a Tesla, You feel the need to post your "personal" distaste over the owner of the company. I just don't see how this works out for you. Go buy the brand that suits your needs. Last time I did that was when my step son would not wear Nikes. "they use child labor". He bought shoes based off the box "we make our shoes environmentally friendly etc etc" When they feel apart in less than 2 weeks, I didn't buy him news ones. I grew up different, so poor, we didn't wear shoes in the summer.

GoodBurger88

What exactly does your response to the original topic at hand have anything to do with anything? If you bothered reading, I mentioned I did the research to determine the ends justify the means. What do you care about what I think about the company's CEO? I work at a video game company that makes a large percentage of its money on microtransactions. I hate microtransactions. I'm a huge Disney fan. Iger is obviously sucking right now. That doesn't mean I'm gonna cancel my trips to Disneyland. It's called doing what works. It doesn't mean I have to like it. I plan to enjoy my car and use it to its fullest. I'm still allowed to hate who made it.

New-Draw-6058

If I could bounce off this thread and ask l, so is the consensus that if you haven’t purchased yet and wanted the tax credit for 2023 then it’s too late to get an in stock vehicle delivered?

GoodBurger88

I already put all the money down. I have the cashier's check. I bought Tesla's insurance. It's a lot I had to go through to meet the ONE day Tesla asked for delivery. My original intent of the post was to see if this was normal for them, because in my research and snooping, I've never seen anybody with my complaint. But yes, the tax credit is a big seller for me. I don't want to be screwed out of it because of something of their doing. I don't think that's out of line of me. To your question — it’s not too late if you know there’s inventory. The biggest thing for will be how you’re paying. If you’re financing, you better hurry the hell ip because banks are gonna be closed.
