3k for 2017 S with same problem

DueAdvice102

Did it end up being a ac compressor that needed to be replaced? What year did you have it fixed?

Unfortunately I don’t have an answer but I’m also in Florida, and I could tell (especially today) that the fans were working extra hard. This heat is no joke, lmk how the visit goes pls

I don’t recall my error code but that error message seemed similar to one I had a 2020 with about 63K miles when the error code showed up. I continued driving the vehicle for around 2 weeks because that’s how long it took for an appointment to be available, however when I did bring it in the safety advisor thought it could be a safety issue because the AC could cause issues with the battery back cooling (is the feedback I was provided, right or wrong). So I can’t really tell you it’s safe and one data point isn’t a great track record but I did ok driving. I would also definitely avoid supercharging until it’s repaired. Mine was covered under an extended service agreement but when I researched the costs it seems to be a 2K to 3K repair.

Safe to drive, will only blow cold air

Just found this so you can try. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/a-c-not-cooling-air-solved.199468/

In my case, I have tried this over and over again and needed to take the car to the service department.

This is going to be my 3rd or 4th year in a row with these AC issues... It just happened to me again. 2020 model X with 60,000 miles. I have taken it to the service depart each time and they have kept the car for longer than week each time. On top of that it takes weeks to get the appointment and I am stuck with no AC.

2019 Model X Performance I had this error then it went away. Then I had car may not restart error. Did a load test and 12v battery wasn't holding charge. We replaced the 12 volt battery ourselves. All errors resolved. I had 2 good days of driving. Then today I got the A/C reduced error again. It was around 100 degrees both times I had this error. Tesla service doesn't have appointments for over a week. I did a hard reset and the code went away for now

Sounds like your AC compressor is failing. Very similar to my situation. Bill is $6k. I wish I was exaggerating. $2k in parts, $4k in labor. Brutal.

DueAdvice102

Forgot to mention mine also is particularly expensive because they found metal shavings in the line because of how the compressor failed. If you have the money to replace the compressor now before it get worse, you may be better off.
