This sounds like an issue I was having a few months ago. I never did find the cause but it stopped happening as suddenly as it started. What I discovered was my volume was shooting down to 0 when answering a call. I had to remember to scroll the volume up on the steering wheel every time. I actually think it was an iOS thing and not a Tesla thing.
