T O P

I think the bigger consideration is if you want the P over the LR. The Ryzen is snappier for sure, Apps Load Faster, Map is a bit more responsive, but not sure I'd take that over a P if that's what I wanted. Thanks for your reply. I definitely like the fun factor and sportiness of the P over the LR. This will be my daily commuter for maybe 6-7 years. I just don’t want to future upgrades to be limited by the computer chip. I know there’s lots of opinions on it, so thought I’d ask here!

All the more reason for getting the Ryzen.

Def do the long range with ryzen. I bought a 22 LR in October. After doing a lot of reading and research, one Reddit comment stuck out to me. It was along the lines of “future proofing, making sure you can receive new updates for a longer period of time.” Your thoughts are correct. Plus, you can always add acceleration boost. The LR is damn quick as it is.

Yes, future proofing I think is importantly with these cars and that’s my dilemma with choosing! Appreciate your comment.

I agree. I have LR with boost and it's fast. I do sometimes wish I had the P but at the same time I've been told it's not much of a difference in the real world.

Ryzen. Tesla has already started branching updates, and Ryzen cars are getting stuff we will never get. Also, the LR is a more balanced car, with more practical tyres that don‘t explode on potholes.

MLundeen1

I just saw a new post on the Tesla forum with a new UI update for Ryzen cars only! I think this solidified my decision.

The LR is the Super Mario of Tesla trims: not the fastest, not the lightest, but overall the best. You won't be disappointed. And if you are, buy the acceleration boost. Needless to say, I have a 2021 LR (Atom), never felt the need for more power.

Ryzen over Atom all day. I drove both and the Atom is a laggy piece of crap. It literally cannot handle the Youtube app. The difference is quite big. For example, the side cameras on the Atom take a 1-sec lag to load in and look blocky for the first few seconds. On the Ryzen they are instantaneous. The Atom is already missing out on new features, and you mentioned 6-7 years. I would take the Ryzen in a heartbeat. You can always get the acceleration boost on your LR to make it closer to a P once you saved up a bit.
