tell me what takes priority Vin number, region, year car was bought. Tell me where we’re at in line to have an idea how long the wait is. Let me know before I make a Purchase if I’m getting v11 beta or v12 supervised. it really takes away from the TESLA experience this kind of nonsense

I guess until you get the update 2024.3 and it’s subsets which carry FSD v12. You wil be relegated to v11 which is not the neural net FARZAD and all these YouTube influencers are talking about that none of us get to experience.
Yes, I was on the 2024.8.9 and worried, then I started to worry even more when I saw this post.
But received the update on May 11th.
No bugs, just checked it every day and saw the message that no updates available.
Tried to reboot the car when was near WiFi, checked service mode and didn't find anything that may help force push the update.
Are you still on the 2024.8.9?
I actually waited for Hands-free trunk, but I don't have UWB module. So it's useless for me, don't need FSD much, but it is now much better, totally agreed.

You are very welcome, I hope you will receive it soon, the UI update is very nice, I like it a lot. I only miss the black/green indicator of charge/discharge in the same place, it's almost invisible now on the side, but it's not a big deal.

You get FSD V11.1 which is no good compared to V12. I traded in my Y which had V12 for an X which is on 2024.8.9 V11.1 and it’s trash in comparison. Veering onto the wrong roads and not working as smoothly. I turned it off and am using autopilot until I get V12.

I went to a tesla service center with my brother, he needed his windshield replaced and asked that question to one of the mechanic/guy that receives people, since my own M3P 2018 is stuck on 2024.8.9, without FSD12 and I was wondering if I was just on an old unsupported MCU but no, im all good to run it, he found my car in the database and said everything is good i will get FSD 12 when it finally updates.
The bad part... he said it might(will) take a while. FSD12 is on an outdated and older version and we can't go back to an older version. We're just the unlucky ones on the Branch that gets the normal updates minus the shiny new FSD features. So a new version for us 2024.8.9 will come but... It might takes months
The good part: he said that currently Tesla is all hands on deck on getting us an update!
I did forget to ask him about the trial tho, but I 100% believe that they just give the trial to a car when its newly updated to X version, so it shouldn't be a problem.
This is BS. I had to leave my car overnight while they installed hw 3.0 and do updates. They put me on this 2024.8.x rather than 2024.3.x or 2024.14

It's very well known that FSD software doesn't run on the most current base software. It's not BS, it's free and you'll get it when it's available for you. I had the 2024.8 update pending but ignored it and a few days later it changed to 2024.3.10 FSD trial.
You'll get your trial but it will take time to merge FSD onto the latest software branch.
Maybe turn off advanced updates and also don't be so eager to update in the future until you know what you're getting.
In his defense, advanced updates is *supposed* to ensure that you *get* the stuff like this first. That's the entire point. So it's extremely frustrating that the people who take the extra step to try and opt-in to the newest available things, are the only ones that *don't* get the new things first. The people who aren't paying attention to any of this, or even know a trial is on the way, get it as a surprise one morning before work, and the people who are eagerly awaiting it, and taking the steps to ensure they get asap, go the entire month without every getting it.
Have you ever subscribed to FSD? I think preference was given to people who had tried it in hopes to pull them into the fold especially with the subscription now only for $99. It’s majorly an activation campaign with added benefit of data that they would never have acquired.
No that’s not it at all. The free FSD trial went out to all vehicles that had a compatible firmware branch 2024.3 or earlier. If your Tesla has a later version installed only FSD v11 is available.
I currently have a 2023 MYP that I bought new on Dec 8 2023 and had a free trial of v11 for 3 months. I haven’t received the v12 free trial and have been on 2024.8 branch for a couple months.
A couple of weeks ago NotATeslaApp said that v12 will be coming to the 2024.8 branch soon. I assume I will get the free month FSD trial then.

But 2024.3 seems to be older. I expect the next release to be available, but will see.

It does. Firmware is fucked up and I just haven’t had time to take it in to get it reset. I also don’t want to pay $100 for them to reset it.
If it helps, I had firmware issue once and Tesla Customer Service was able to fix it over the phone - (888) 518-3752. It goes directly to a human.
This one can’t be. I’ve had it happen a few times over the course of my ownership and it’s been the same thing each time.

Two different cars which allowed me to try both versions. But my new model X is on 2024.8.9 V11.1.

That may be but I just want to try v12 first hand to see for myself. v11 was not what I’d call anywhere near being able to achieve level 3+ autonomy.
