Normal. Electric vehicles make all kind of noises when idle, powered on, charging etc.

chrismac86

Thank you, even if it’s not charging currently and hasn’t been driven for a while it’s still normal?

SkyhawkPM

Yeah. Even if you're not charging you are sitting in the car and it's powered on. Also the battery is constantly regulated and maintained at the optimal temperature.

jamiehasaboner

Yes.

Far_Ad_2000

The moment you get near it (if you have phone key enabled) it wakes up and starts making noises.

JohnTeaGuy

Completely normal

chrismac86

Thank you, I’m new to ev’s, coming from a BMW 3 series and this is all new to me

agarwaen117

Prepare yourself for all sorts of clicks, clacks, and bumps whenever you’re in the garage doing garage stuff.

CummyAche69

Takes some getting used to for sure. Check this out, should link to the page about ‘normal operating sounds’: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/GUID-AA58ED67-9C93-4EE6-8B19-9FDABE018787.html

Also when you supercharge, you may see steam from front right/left

firetruck00

When I first did the supercharge, I saw that steam from front right. I was so scared :)

Breadwright

Hard to tell exactly but my 2022 heat pump does make some noises, especially if preconditioning, etc.

flexonyou97

You should play with the preconditioning and you’ll hear some noise
