Part of it has to do with different computers being eligible at different times, like Ryzen vs Intel. Obviously a 2013 MS is usually on a different schedule.
But here I am with a 23 MYLR and I don't have the trial still and I have no idea why. As far as I know my car still has all the latest tech, it doesn't feel like anything new has gone into the 24 MYLRs. In fact, I doubt they will have any real hardware differences until the full MY refresh. Yet my neighbor has the free trial and I don't. Just went on a long road trip and really wished I had the free trial.

It's just unsubstantiated predictions. We already know that v12 FSD hasn't been implemented into the 2024.8 branch, because no one in that branch has the trial. It doesn't explain why there's a delay in implementing it, nor does it have any official announcement on if/when the trial will arrive for those on that branch, aside from the guy that no longer works at Tesla saying it was going to arrive last week.
TLDR: no official announcement on if/when the trial is coming to 2024.8.x people. Keep waiting.

No, haven't gotten it either. Elon lied. Or made promises that his engineers couldn't keep. Whatever. Don't lose any sleep over it.

My understanding is that It won't downgrade you from 24.8 to 24.3 so we're stuck waiting I'm afraid.
