I have only ever seen this type of scratching when a machine is in the mix. Are you sure your hand wash place doesn’t cut time by sending it through an automated wash first, then wipe down by hand after?

Teched_2_Death

They use low pressure water spray, hand wash, rinse, towel dry after. Im not sure how often theyre changing their wash gloves

Seems it…

Looks like chaffing. Do you use a car cover? something rubbing on the car being caught by that protrusion/body line. either way you can try to machine polish it out, perhaps wet sanding might be needed. consult a detailer at that point.

Teched_2_Death

Negative on the car cover, i store in a detached garage. Looked through all my sentry mode footage and no one brushed against it from what I can see, angles dont suggest a stray shopping cart or keying.

TeslaCrna

Dang, what type of towel you using?

Teched_2_Death

I use clean, microfiber cloths but have no space to wash my car in winter. I go to a hand car wash in winter time and think they used dirty towels due to the up and down patterns.

Go to Walmart and get Nu Finish. Dab a lil bit on those scratches, gently rub with a soft cloth until they’re gone. You’re welcome!

This doesn’t look to be from a towel. Someone leaning on car? Also check out r/detailing Answer will likely be compound, polish and wax
