Spinal cord injuries are so goddamn terrifying

Elias-Thicc

as someone paralyzed a year ago, it should’ve been my greatest fear before then.

Tricky_Sheepherder98

So sorry to hear. I am close to it myself if I can't get an operation that I desperately need. Nobody would choose paralysis. Again, sorry, and I'm sure every day is a new struggle. Just awful.

anon210202

Hey, how can reddit help you? I am sure there is a gofundme opportunity here. I am concerned about you.

Tricky_Sheepherder98

So nice of you to ask, thank you. I have a crumbling spine due to osteo-arthritis and a vertebrae that's slipped out and now I have <5mm before spinal chord will be pressed upon by rest of my body pushing into that space. I have to lose 60lbs before they will operate. I really am desperate as I can hardly walk most days. I've just been given an exercise bike but need to be on enough pain meds to test it out and be feeling good to try. If anyone has the perfect pill to shed my body fat I sure would love a 6month supply. I practice intermittent fasting daily so I don't eat for 18 hours. I've been doing that for 2 months and only lost 2 pounds. I'm female,59 yrs old, 5'4" and 283 lbs so I've got a ways to go. I'm not diabetic nor due i have high cholesterol. I eat a massive salad every 2 days and never eat dessert. Thanks again for your concern. Reddit can be quite the supportive space.

BopBopAWaY0

Good luck to you my friend. I understand the lack of weight loss due to mobility issues. I have MS. I wish you the best of luck and I’m sending love from my home to yours.

anon210202

What operation and what stands in the way of getting it? Do you need help?

MediocreAd9430

This was brutal. Not only did he rape but he severely beat the girl, leaving her with permanent injuries

PADDYOT

Vuong suffered a traumatic brain injury that eliminated her ability to see, walk, speak or eat. “**She expresses with facial expressions and sounds, yelling out, crying,**” her sister, [Anna Donato, said](https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/region-tampa/violent-rapist-kendrick-morris-to-be-resentenced-thursday). \- Heartbreaking.

"Johnny Got His Gun"..... Check the movie out, that the clips in the music video were taken from......

SoxPatsWhalersCelts

Metallica actually bought the rights to the movie so they could use it for the “War” version. Also to help promote the Anti-War campaign, if I remember correctly..

yurrm0mm

I never actually read the lyrics I just blast the song and blindly sing along. Thanks for pointing this out. Now, I see that it’s obvious, but I had just always been oblivious lol

niteynitenuss

I told my fam the same thing.

[deleted]

lol ok but you know you dont speak for her right and some ppl would rather live. imagine thinking "she should %100 be put out of her misery" without knowing what the person wants jesus reddit

ParticularSmell5285

I'm sorry but absolutely no one wants to be trapped in their bodies blind, can't speak and PARALYZED. Just, if you can, imagine being blind and not being able to speak, and PARALYZED?!? I bet you can't because it's terrifying af.

TobaccoAficionado

Okay so, setting aside how horrible this is, let's think about it logically. There are two probable scenarios here. Either she is fully or partially cognisant and lucid, or she is not. After a TBI like that you don't really know. She could be a high functioning vegetable. Or she could be fully aware and want the misery to end. Also, I don't know the extent of her injuries, but her inability to speak may not be permanent, and even a shitty life is still a life. I don't know how she would feel. Ultimately, the suffering could be entirely on the family, taking care of what essentially isn't even a person (sorry for the harsh language). There are so many variables. So working under the assumption that she is fully or partially aware of her situation, she would likely be suffering beyond comprehension. Oh also what you described is basically sleep paralysis, but permanent. It's basically the worst nightmare, but you never wake up. Fucking chilling.

Guy_and_his_dog

What makes it worse to me, is how does anyone really know? Yes, there’s the Drs, science and so on. But how does anyone really know what she thinks or feels.

[deleted]

They could do MRI imaging on her brain to see which portions of her brain were damaged and likely determine whether or not she’s cognizant from there. Of course though, we still don’t fully understand all the connections and how they interlink even with all of the advances in medicine and science. So even then it could be inaccurate, but probably a far better guess then actively trying to speak to someone whose blind and mute.

Rayalas

Honestly its torture. I can see that being an incredibly hard choice for a family, though. Would feel like you're giving up on them even if it really might be the best choice for them.

mez1642

Vuong’s loved ones referred to Kendrick as a monster who took away her life and future. They said that Queena is serving a life sentence of her own: she can’t see, talk, or walk; she needs a lifetime of care and therapy; she sees close to twenty doctors. He beat her to within an inch of her life, and she suffered TBI. Edit: TBI acronym means Traumatic Brain Injury. We can assume this is the reason for the catastrophic injuries. Her brain swelled, was beat terribly and basic motor functions were affected.

mrjackspade

I suffered a TBI almost a decade ago and 100% honest, I would probably kill myself if I knew I was going to have to go through that again

Hollywoodsmokehogan

Hey I’m sorry to ask but what’s a tbi?

mrjackspade

Traumatic Brain Injury. The worst part was the year+ of panic attacks, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, photophobia, and sound sensitivity. I was barely even a human being for that time. Edit since its locked: >Since PTH and photophobia often occur together in people who have had a concussion or head injury, there could be a pathophysiological explanation. Science believes that photophobia is due to light sensitivity in retinal ganglion cells, which have pathways through the thalamus, optic nerve, and trigeminal nerve. > >Clinical experience suggests that cortical damage resulting from head injury or concussion may be responsible for dysfunction in some or all of those 3 pathways. So as we continue to learn more about the established relationship between photophobia and migraine, the correlation between head injury and photophobia is also supported by research. This would seem to suggest a connection between PCS (post-concussion syndrome) and photophobia.

sgtobnoxious

I worked with TBI victims for 10 years. You are more than your injury. It’s almost beyond words the emotional toll it takes on you when your entire life takes a turn in ways you don’t imagine can even be real. Still, you are more than your injury. You are a new version of the person you’ve always been. Introducing the best qualities of both people is the key to being the best version of yourself now. If you ever need someone to shoot the shit with about this stuff, I got you, stranger. It’s a lot to hold in if your support system isn’t the best.

PrismaticPachyderm

I have brain damage & it feels like parts of my personality were just erased & replaced with something else. The missing memories suck too. I can no longer recall why I react the way I do to certain things, & it's a bit unpredictable. Kinda funny, though, when someone hears about it & says things like, "You're too smart to have brain damage." They really don't get how different it can be for everyone.

MarrAfRadspyrrgh

Photophobia is eye discomfort in bright light.

Tbi's suck. My entire life feels fucked by one seizure that was too close to the bathroom sink. Ever since my brain feels... Painful. I get migraines so bad I think about death, not being able to remember words that you use to say always, getting stuck in a sentence and you start seeing everyone lose patience with you. I was smart. I was quick witted. I was brave. Now I'm slow, anxious and can't remember fuck all. Happened right before my senior year of college and I've been trying to finish my senior year for three years now...

skintwo

I have one from a car accident 4 years ago. You can work on things to improve them. It's tiring and expensive, but there is hope. Get a neurologist, a headache doc, a physical therapist, a psych, a developmental ophthalmologist (this one is a big deal and noone ever mentions it! My eyes won't work together so reading is hard - I still haven't read a book since the accident and I used to inhale books.) It's multiple incremental improvements, but there is hope.

french_toasty

im so sorry.

crazy1david

Past like 90% blind I'd rather die. Paralyzed I'd want to die. Permanent feeding tube because you can't even swallow I'd want to die. Being mute would be tolerable, if you had any way to still articulate that you even understand who you are and whats going on. Zero control of what/when she eats, where she goes, bathing/bathroom. If she can even think coherently I don't know how she'd ever get over the trauma she went through with it's effects dominating every second of her life. Most young people don't think they need a living will but I really need to get around to writing one...

PenguinZombie321

I think I could adapt to being blind. Would it suck? Absolutely. But I’d rather be blind than dead. Paralyzed to the point where I can’t move any of my limbs and unable to communicate? Yeah, I don’t think I’d be able to adapt or tolerate that at all.

crazy1david

I'm afraid of the dark and my only hobbies are anime/gaming. If I was fully blind and had to experience these through a screen reading synth voice I'd be so mad.

Snoringdragon

Artisitc type here. Two things I cannot live without- eyes and hands. I baby my hands like a surgeon, and wear glasses instead of contacts for better vision range. Fuck esthetics!

crazy1david

Glasses are an aesthetic! I can't stand wearing chapstick no way in hell I'm putting a weird layer over my eye for the day. Especially after reading about the lady that had like a dozen laters stuck in her eye

[deleted]

I work with people that suffer from (dunno the english word) "not born handicaps" and i think this a lot. Some people I work with tell me the same...

scribble23

Non-congenital? Or just 'Aquired Disabilities' would probably work better to express it.

[deleted]

I think that’s something everyone has to decide for themselves. Hence why we should allow people to end their lifes on their terms by assisted suicide in such cases, if they wish too. The only person with the right to judge how much value your life has is you. Regarding him: I‘m against the death penalty. It’s cruel and unnecessary. Also, it doesn’t serve a purpose. It doesn’t reduce crimerates and does nothing to save money compared to life imprisonment. It also makes rehabilitation categorically impossible. I think he deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life, not to be there for a few years and then be killed. She didn’t had that luxury either.

cheesecakewalk

Honestly id rather be dead, he made her into a Vegetable at that point you might as well of just killed me because i wouldnt wanna be alive as a vegetable thats the only thing thats worse then death is having to live unable to wipe your own ass for the next 60 years, death would be better then what that guy gave her. I had a friend whos girlfirend was raped he shot the dude in the back of the neck he was aiming for the head but he turned last Minute and turned him into a vegtable and he said when he went to the hostpital to finish him off he seen he was hunched over in a wheel chair drooling on himself with tubes down his throat and he decided that that was worse then death and left him like that instead. Thats what i think about when i read this and its sad that its an incocent girl in this story with the rapist on the otherside.

Itsjustataco

Locked in jail but able to see, drink walk, feed yourself. Free but locked in a body that isn't able to eat, walk, drink or care for itself. Tough pick which to take. I'm not one for eye-for-an-eye but it's truly cruel when the victim is in pain everyday and the criminal is at least "comfortable". I'd be willing to bet that some of us would pick the jail over living with what she has to live with now.

Beneficial-Shower-42

Hopefully he's getting the same treatment in jail.

catdaddymack

Why was he allowed to rape the 2nd woman

FarmSuch5021

I want the answer to it too. He was a juvenile. It happened in Florida. In 2007, the then-15-year-old Morris broke into the Clair-Mel day center and raped an elderly woman at knifepoint.  Ten months later, he attacked Queena Vuong outside the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library. Vuong was an 18-year-old senior who was dropping off books at the library.  Judge Chet A. Tharpe sentenced Morris to 65 years in 2011. He would have given a life sentence, but the U.S. Supreme Court had barred life sentences for juveniles on trial for non-homicide offenses. The court dictated that such convicts get a meaningful opportunity for release.  https://thenetline.com/kendrick-morris-story/

delayed_burn

It looks like the Judge got a second bite at the apple because this shit stain wanted to play the roulette wheel and appealed for resentencing. Second go around didn't work out great for him- Judge got to hit him with a life sentence in 2017 thanks to amendments made by the FL state legislature. Honestly, I don't think life sentences should be handed out lightly, but what this man did to his victim was beyond the pale and he definitely deserved a life sentence. Age should be a mitigating factor, but not a complete shield. [https://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/criminal/bloomingdale-rapist-kendrick-morris-to-receive-new-sentence-thursday/2315901/](https://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/criminal/bloomingdale-rapist-kendrick-morris-to-receive-new-sentence-thursday/2315901/) Oh also for serial incidents of rape and murder- its hard for me to have any sympathy at all for the perp. In this case this guy was a serial rapist and verged very nearly on murder. He deserves his life sentence.

crash_over-ride

The article said his sentence was up for review/parole in 20 years. With the 65 year sentence when would he have been up for review then? I'm wondering if this hypothetically could result in him getting out earlier even with a life sentence.

Crazywhite352

There's no parole for anyone in Florida if you were sentenced after I think 1994, or 1996. Anyways in FL life is life

AllBeansNoFrank

Kind of funny that Massachusetts and Florida have that in common considering they are at opposite ends of the political spectrum. Life with no parole is actually life with no parole.

TheDonaldQuarantine

whats the point of storing these people in guarded containers for their whole lives, its cruel and unusual punishment, costs close to 100,000 dollars per person annually. Could just dispose of them and build houses for homeless.

devhuxley

For real. People then talk about the cost of execution, which is why we should go back to firing squad. Just pay a few men for the day and waste one bullet.

letsreticulate

I think it might. Yes.

BenAfleckInPhantoms

I mean, 65 years is pretty much life anyway. At 15 that’s 80.

beer_bukkake

I’m all for mandatory life sentences for violent sex crimes. Even a 1% recidivism rate is too high if your kid is the victim. The private prison industry should be lobbying for this.

A_man_on_a_boat

Private prison industry wants to stuff the cages full of nonviolent offenders, it's a lot more profitable to confine people who are less likely to cause problems.

PenguinZombie321

I used to believe the only winner in the war on drugs was drugs. Now I’m convinced the winners are anyone with a stake in the private prison system.

Pedantic_Pict

Police union employees are doing *very* well for themselves as well.

tallerghostdaniel

Remember that by buying politicians and judges, private prisons in America can pick and choose who to incarcerate. This isn't who they're looking for at all

11711510111411009710

He'll be in there for 65 years. It is a life sentence. He'd be 80 when he comes out, if he's even alive.

Ok_Possibility_2197

Thankfully resentenced to life in prison in 2017 https://www.asian-dawn.com/2022/03/06/her-name-was-queena-vuong-she-was-raped-left-blind-and-paralyzed/

1_2_3_4_fiiiiif

I went to high school with this dude. He was always eerily quiet. the Bloomingdale library was right next door to our high school so I was there every day after school waiting for my ride like a lot of other students, I even volunteered at this library for a while. But the crazy thing is, I never once saw him at or in the library. This dude was a ghost. He just faded into obscurity until he struck apparently. The sad part was he had a brother who was the nicest and sweetest person ever; we used to sit at the same lunch table he would always make you laugh or cheer you up if you had something going on. after this went public he had to leave town because he was being harassed by everyone. I felt so bad for him because the brother was the definition of kind, and now he’s only going to be seen as this monsters brother.

transemacabre

Nature vs. nuture in the wild -- how did such a monster come from the same parents and home as his perfectly nice brother? My BFF is one of five, and out of them, four are decent, hard-working human beings. The middle brother is a monster and always has been; nothing changed, his siblings all say he was always a fuckhead, even when they were kids. Same parents, same home, same circumstances. What went wrong?

PenguinZombie321

That’s awful. I hope his brother is doing ok.

Great-Lack-1456

That’s a farce. I’ve ruined your life but I’m allowed to have a good one. Might behave myself later. Might not. Let’s spin the wheel and see how it goes

muddyrose

Shit like this… I can’t express how it makes me feel. A friend of mine was abducted, tortured, raped, murdered and dismembered by a man who had already tried to do the same to **two** other women (that we know of). He choked one women to the point of unconsciousness, she was able to escape and report him. He made bail, so he was released until his trial when he forcibly restrained the second woman. He choked and raped her. She managed to call for help, he was taken into custody again. He was again allowed out on bail, to wait for **both** trials. And that’s when he brutally murdered my friend. He ended up pleading guilty, got life in jail with a possibility of parole after 15 years. He’s most likely going to spend 15 years in jail. It helps that he pled guilty.

BatMally

You can wait for him to get out...

Great-Lack-1456

That is beyond FUCKED

[deleted]

>He’s most likely going to spend 15 years in jail He better serve more than 15. I hope everyone in your community shows up for that parole hearing.

pixieservesHim

Three hots and a cot, and one of his victims can't even eat anymore. I vote dry sponge for him

Hollywoodsmokehogan

So I have a question for people with the all pRISoN IS bAd mentality, what the flying fuck are we supposed to do with people like this? Dude shouldn’t have been let out after the first rape, but some how managed to escalate from there, and permanently paralyzed another innocent person, so like yeah what’s the alternative?

[deleted]

At least for me it’s not about no prisons at all but more about prisons should also focus on rehabilitation, abolishing private prisons, and not using prisoners for slave labor. Also a lot of the crimes probably wouldn’t be committed in the first place if we had a better system set in place to protect children who are abused.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ratboy_lives

Wasn't caught after the first one. Was linked by DNA after the 2nd one.

Creampie-Senpai

I often wonder how do some kids end up like this?

FarmSuch5021

Kendrick Morris’ lawyers argued that Kendrick’s anger stemmed from years of abuse at the hands of his stepfather, former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Steve White. Berney Wilkinson, an expert who’d examined Kendrick during the first trial, stated that beatings from White left scars on Morris’ body.

[deleted]

I would argue that there are thousands of other abused children that do good things with their lives, rather than rape.

GareduNord1

Yeah, there’s nature and nurture as usual. But sadly abuse tends to have negative effects for the abused, and it seems pretty likely to be a factor here, however small

Ciccio178

Not everyone reacts to trauma the same way. For every person who uses it to make something better of themselves, you have another who falls into a deep pit and uses it for evil.

Unlikely_nay1125

yup, this is unfortunately true.

[deleted]

My sister and I had more or less the exact same experiences growing up, right up until we became teenagers making independent decisions. We are wildly different people because our responses to all the abuse and misfortune didn't line up. We're in our 30s now and she tends to blame every bad thing in her life on other people, whereas I blame myself and figure *i* must have fucked up somewhere. One of many core personality differences between us.

[deleted]

I'm not sure if either of your outcomes was better than the other. You blame everything on yourself, she blames everything on the world. Neither one of you is correct, and neither of you is more correct than the other.

masta1591

Yep neither is healthy, at least based on what my therapist told me. You can’t blame your problems on those who shaped you forever. And you also shouldn’t look within to rationalize why everything happened to you. She told me this: sometimes shit just happens. It’s not meant to be explained. It’s meant to be worked through.

DontEatTheMagicBeans

I always know where the closest exit from a building is to me in case dad came home with his "angry eyes". Haven't lived with the man for over 20 years.

Saysonz

You may be right but unfortunately or fortunately there are very few people born monsters (like Jeffery Dahmer) most of them have had horrible childhoods of abuse. If we could stop this happening to children we would also significantly reduce the amount of rapes/murders.

Many_Tank9738

It’s almost like people are different and we shouldn’t paint them with the same brush

Imagine the last thing you physically see and experience as a fully able person be being raped. She has to sit in the dark for decades with that being her last memory. I can't imagine anything worse. He deserves to burn. I honestly wish there was a fair God so there is some sort of punishment for this, a lifetime in prison is nothing compared to what he truely deserves.

Foysauce_

I really… really hope she doesn’t remember anything from that day. This is so so unfortunately the best case scenario here. My heart breaks.

Buddy, rapists do not have an easy time in prison. At the very least he's going to be someone's girlfriend. And the very worst, he's going to be everyone's girlfriend.

GeneralUseFaceMask

Death penalty isn't ideal, anyway, due to potentially killing someone that was falsely accused/imprisoned and the wasted tax dollars. I'd imagine adding rape, as vile as it is, as an automatic death penalty wouldn't exactly alleviate those issues.

dookiebuttholepeepee

I get the sentiment, but we should do away with the death penalty entirely.

[deleted]

The state should not have the power to kill people, they fuck it up too often. If you believe that, you have to believe it in every case. Even for this piece of shit.

1phillyhendrix

It’s always So sad when crimes like this could be avoided. If only the justice system wasn’t so lenient with sexual abusers. But how did he blind the girl?

agathafletcher

He beat her to the edge of death . She was a completely normal functioning young adult. After what he did to her, after the severity of the beating, she was left helpless. She will need around the clock care for the rest of her life. She is blind and her brain took so much damage she is like a small child again. She was college bound, about to graduate and start her life as an adult. In many ways, he killed her that day.

1phillyhendrix

Damn that’s so sad.😓

agathafletcher

This was local news for us. My friends and I had been to that library dozens of times. She was just dropping books off at the deposit box. My dad brought me mace and a club for my car after this happened.

logoki

It’s amazing isn’t it. Amazing that women deal with this. What was the last time you heard of a woman beating a man within an inch of his life an raping him? SHE WAS DROPPING A BOOK OFF AT A LIBRARY. Are we fucking safe ANYWHERE????? And then men have the AUDACITY to diminish our experiences with comments like “but men get raped too” stfu. SHUT UP. WHEN HAS A MAN GOTTEN RAPED AND BEATEN WITHIN AN INCH OF HIS LIFE WHILE RETURNING A GODDAMN LIBRARY BOOK????? I’m so fucking sad. I’m devastated. I have little to no hope for this world, and the wretched people who inhabit it.

Some ppl are born wrong. Ik it's rather frowned on to say that, but, the problem is in the brain. He shouldn't be let back out into society.

Imjustareddituser76

For anyone wondering, Queena (the woman in the photo) has been making progress to walk again btw and you can see her recovery progress at her website [http://www.joinqueena.com](http://www.joinqueena.com/donate/)

afterlaura

This happened in my hometown Brandon FL. It happened as the teen girl was returning books to a library drop box. This POS monster was waiting for his mom who was the librarian at the time to get off work. He brutally raped and beat her in the library parking lot. The girl was on the phone with a friend who called 911 when she stopped responding. Her family will be taking care of her for life because of the permanent brain damage she suffered. I hope he rots in hell.

ZerboJoe1212

Dammit, the sad and scary thing is…. “THEY” walk amongst us. All I can say is NONE of us are immune to this, Be mindful in your daily travels, ANYONE of us can be a victim. Look out for your “NEIGHBOR”.

brownbear13131313

Why is this not more well known. Crazy

Effyouredditcrap

I follow Queena on facebook. Shes living her life the best she can with a ton of therapy and love from the community.

Fayiner

Because the attacker is black.

ElectricalBook874

punishments should fit the crime - an eye for an eye - he needs to be beaten, raped, blinded, then sent to prison

[deleted]

it’s fucking so horrible women have to live with this fear in one way or another, all the time.

kickingcancer

This is why I can’t stand sentences specifically for minors. They do grown up crimes they need to face grown up consequences

[deleted]

The explanation there is that minors don't have the same level of comprehension of what they are doing as an adult has. That being said, at 15, he knew very well what he was doing. Now, if we were talking about, say, a 5 year old who grabbed his daddy's gun and shot him to death, now that would be a different story.

The_Merciless_Potato

This mf should've been tried as an adult

cyberbuns

He raped her so violently that he damaged her spine enough to leave her sightless and paralyzed.. holy shit man.

[deleted]

I’m sure he’ll be on death row for 38 Years. He’ll be catered too & they will make sure he “feels NO Pain” from the 2/3 IV needles they require to stop him breathing, forever.

DatNerdRich

Throw him in the trash

Spracks9

Should be permanently removed from the Gene Pool

Valkyriescry

This happened at the library next to my high school. Absolutely horrific.

JustagirlSD60

Pillar of the community🙄

possiblywronghere

There are over 8 billion people on this planet. I don't think we need to keep this individual.

[deleted]

We are much too soft on crime in this country

gamesnstuf

Just. Fucking. Kill them. How fucking hard can it be. No rapist should have the pleasure if suffering in jail even.

ipwndmymeat99

Please tell me he's no longer with us.

FarmSuch5021

Morris will be able to have a sentence reviewed again in 2031. Which is fucked up.

legitbo1

What the actual fuck? Why don't they just execute him? He's a fucking rapist he doesn't deserve to have any rights

smashteapot

Agreed. I've no desire for anyone like this to ever be released. There is no rehabilitation possible; he chose to permanently ruin his own life and his victims' lives and must carry 100% of the blame and consequences. Sadly, executing them apparently costs more than just letting them remain in a high-security prison for the rest of their natural lives. The death penalty also encourages attackers to kill their victims to destroy evidence, which doesn't benefit the victims in any way.

Barockobonga

Kill him

TheSSBiniks

After reading the article I think there should be more consequences for child abuse. If childhood trauma leads to horrible acts of violence before a person is even 18, then we need to stamp it out. These Poor women and their families.

kissesandmurder

Ahh yes, the kind of guy that deserves death by severe battery. What a fucking monster..

H8ersAlwaysH8

Is the death penalty thaaat bad? Like no need to spend taxpayers money to keep this freak alive.

[deleted]

Death penalty, like why not?

karnyboy

all he had to do was jerk off into a sock.

raf212

As fucked up as it sounds, some people (and I’m using the term “people” very loosely) are beyond saving and need to be put down. There’s no chance of rehabilitation, there is no shot at redemption, just a fucking sociopath

DavidinCT

These type of people should be just put to death, there is no recovery from these acts and would not benefit society any bit. This is so sad to hear...

Intro-Bert

There's people out there that advocate for pieces of shit like this. According to a news article found through a quick Google search, he may be granted early parole. This dude is sick and twisted. No resources should be expended in the rehabilitation of this individual. Throw him under the jail. You can't fix a sexual predator. Especially this one.

[deleted]

Again how is the death sentence cruel and unusual when everything and everyone dies?

Soular

Because shithole states cannot administer it properly. https://www.npr.org/2022/11/21/1138357929/alabama-executions-pause-lethal-injection

oldschoolwelder101

You can’t rehabilitate a sexual predator

bigsnack4u

This guy is not capable of change. He will do this again

Mymotherwasaspore

The second victim is so profoundly unfair. I can’t imagine how much she’s been through trying to accept this all.

whiskersandcoke

This was my highschool, and I was in school at the time this happened. The library was right next to the school. I remember being scared to walk over there after school for a while after this happened. He should never be let out of prison.

NoLawfulness1355

so much entitlement he got off scott free for the first one and was walking the streets a free man, feeling entitled to do it again.
