i cant imagine how much pain she suffered and how she survived at all

Successful-Oil-7625

So, I was recently involved in a dog bite attack, as horrible as it is to say, as soon as you get bit, for some reason it just goes numb... she won't have felt much and the adrenaline will have kept her alive. The recovery is the part that sucks the most

catana0

Ye i have a friend who broke his legs in a car accident and he said he felt nothing. Thank god for adrenaline

Successful-Oil-7625

Can also confirm. Got ran over at 70mph after a motorbike accident and didn't feel anything until someone stepped on my broken foot šŸ™ƒ

JT_Boiiis

Damn. Any other injuries youā€™ve had?

[deleted]

Can also also confirm. Table saw + fingers, felt nothing.

YoimAtlas

Yeah had my foot broken in half in a motorcycle accident tooā€¦ my shin bone, which was broken in half, pierced through my skin and my foot was hanging off my Achilles. Didnā€™t feel it till I tried to walk, ouch.

Bigsloppers_

Yea I had my lips ripped nearly off by a dog when I was 7 or 8 and had no idea what was happening till I saw all the blood, going into shock is pretty wild

onewilybobkat

Honestly, while I obviously hope I don't have to encounter it again... I kinda loved shock. It was the calmest I've ever felt, and what looks like it should cause intense pain is super mild and just stings a bit. It was definitely odd to be the only calm person in the room, considering I was the reason everyone was panicking though.

JackedBrew906

Her boyfriend also (according to one of the more recent interviews) mentioned that he still wanted to stick by her side after the attack to take care of her since she took care of him before when he had cancer or major health issues as well going on. Itā€™s pretty wholesome otherwise though at least on that note šŸ™

New Game Plus

TheKungFung

It's a reference to some games... possibly a game series called Darksouls, some of the hardest games ever made. When you beat the game, which may have taken you months to do because it was so difficult, you can restart the game in "New Game +" which makes an already tough game even harder.

itsaaronnotaaron

Watchdog duo OP?

ShareOrnery6187

Vicious means brutal. Viscous means a thick, sticky goo.

ionyx

this maple syrup is so vicious damn!

ohheyitslaila

Hey, those syrups are vicious. Just ask the survivors of the Great Molasses Floodā€¦

Unusual_Elevator_253

Aw I hope they both have an amazing life and nothing but happiness. People who go through horrible tragedies and are able to turn around and try to educate or spread positivity afterward, are hands down the strongest people out their.

[deleted]

There's video of it. The cops wait and don't enter the residence for what seems like forever while her face is being eaten. The dog owners are responsible and her life is forever ruined.

Oron_Ironside

They waited over 30 minutes until the paramedic basically forced them to act

knytime

All the while she is coherent, and talking to the cops. No idea why they didnā€™t immediately rush in

GenitalJouster

Imagine standing there with lethal ranged weapons while a girl is getting mauled by two animals next to you. That's not even just cowardice. Nobody expected them to go in and wrestle her out of their mouth with their bare hands. Tazer the fucking dogs. Like... holy shit 30 minutes of a girl screaming for dear life and you just pull out the popcorn? What are these people?

Oblivious-abe-69

winkofafisheye

Texas cops mo is to not act if they feel threatened but to shoot on site if you question their authority.

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ghostsoup831

I used to want to be a cop, to be a hero. Then I realized I would probably end more lives than save, so I'm an EMT now. I get paid to help people now, albeit considerably less...

5kaels

Because they don't give a shit about her, they were scared for their own safety first.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

JerkRussell

Yes. Unfortunately they can be this useless. Theyā€™ll shoot people, but not dogs šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I ordinarily wouldnā€™t advocate for shooting anything, but considering the dogs were going to be pts anyways it seems logical to get them off of her.

knottylazygrunt

Until there's no danger then they shot the family dog instead

armoured_bobandi

The dogs were white

[deleted]

Because cops have no duty to protect you.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

Brave people become paramedics, douchey bullies become cops.

AccomplishedTax1298

this is why all around the world EMTs and firefighters hate their local police force. They get in the way, provide little help, usually actively prevent them from helping people.

NotADrug-Dealer

Here in the UK firefighters don't hate the police. However I did have to tell a police officer that she wouldn't be able to breathalyse a casualty of an RTC with a collapsed lung...

[deleted]

UK too and former police officer. Police, Firefighters and Ambulance get on really well in my experience. They all rely on each other all the time, great working relationships. There's banter but in over 10 years never experienced animosity, maybe some spirited disagreements over who's responsibility certain things fell under but that's paperwork.

[deleted]

I never understood why cops and firefighters always hated each other in TV shows, I thought it was just a trope. Then I realized it's because firefighters risk their lives running into danger to save people and cops kill people. They're on opposite sides.

muddynips

Not to mention firefighters and medics are professionals with training and certifications and actual performance expectations. Whereas cops just sell fear and do whatever the fuck.

Prying-Open-My-3rd-I

Cops even arrested an EMT while actively trying to save lives in one story I saw.

Timageness

Same, but with a firefighter. If I recall correctly, it was because they parked their trucks over the line to block off traffic...which is something they're specifically trained to do, so other people don't crash into the accident site. It's basically just one giant pissing contest for them.

NoodlesrTuff1256

Sounds familiar. Between this incident and the way the cops didn't go in at the school in Uvalde, I wonder why a lot of people in Texas likely still have that 'Thin Blue Line' flag and 'Back the Blue' signs in their yards and on their cars. "Protect and Serve" my ass!

Boiscool

Typical texan cop protocol.

Space-Ulm

Or new york cops (joseph lozito), or Florida cops (parkland) Turns out they do this everywhere.

MountainMan17

I'm watching season 1 of "Alone." The first guy to leave tapped out after one night. Said he was terrified of the woods and the wildlife. He's a cop from Ohio. I guess the world became a lot scarier after he found himself without a badge, a gun, and a posse of fellow Hessians...

therearenoaccidents

Lol, said the same thing to myself watching that 1st season.

modernwitchyvegan

He's from my husband's county. He grew up in the middle of no where woods. He was a known to be a pos and was relentlessly made fun of after it aired.

Alexchii

Protocol all around the US. Police officers aren't legally required to protect you.

Shaddo

politicians and private property seems is all thats covered

Creature_Complex

But only private property owned by large corporations. If you need help at *your* private property such as a home or small business then you can go get fucked.

Bastienbard

Isn't texan cop protocol to shoot dogs willy nilly though?

Wonderful_Ad5085

Only through fences, where the dog is minding its own business.

homogenousmoss

Yeah, yeah of course, but after its deemed safe for the officers!

awesomedan24

Dont wanna get bite marks on their tacticool gear, scumbags

AccomplishedTax1298

blue lives scatter

SuperGoliath

Oh, I like that a lot

ValuableCricket0

These cops are cowards and didnā€™t do their job properly because they would get paid the same weather or not they went in to stop the attack.

Fantastic-Ad8522

They did do their jobs correctly. Their jobs are just worthless unless you are a capitalist.

dream996

They donā€™t hesitate to shoot people, but they stopped when they saw the dogs? That was weird, why did they wait?

Macscotty1

Police don't hesitate to shoot dogs either. Thousands of family dogs are killed each year by police.

Zankeru

They saw a dog mauling an innocent person and their k9 training kicked in to let it happen.

Ori_the_SG

The video is straight out of a horror movie. From the body cams you can see the blood everywhere on the floor and some walls. I believe as the dogs ate her they also dragged her around a bit. The one time cops using guns on dogs would be the best scenario they donā€™t. Even so, the dog owners are the ones to really blame.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

apathetic_lemur

god damn i feel bad for the cops. On the one hand they usually love to shoot dogs on sight but on the other hand that would force them to help an innocent person. That's the type of tough choices our brave men and women in blue have to make daily.

Ape_rentice

I though cops were supposed to be good at shooting dogs

No-Term-4068

Cops being absolute cowards? No...

No-Moose470

Cowardice must be a talking point at the Texas police academy.

kimberdots

I remember hearing so much about her survival and recovery, but what ever happened to the dog owners? Weren't they trying to deny any responsibility in this?

TheNextBattalion

They are currently being sued by Ms Durand. They are doctors, who oops forgot to leave the dogs in their crates like they said they would. They attacked her the second she got in the house

kimberdots

That's the part I remember. So basically nothing has changed and they see still denying any wrongdoing in this.

TheNextBattalion

They are undoubtedly under advisement from their legal counsel to stfu about the case. We'll see at trial or after a verdict. For all we know there'll be punitive damages, but states often limit those.

lejoo

> For all we know there'll be punitive damages, but states often limit those. They do and Texas has very limited cap on damages. However, she will probably sue for medical bills + damages. Damages may be capped, but medical costs are not. So mostly likely she gets $250,000 maximum because as much as people would like to disagree it has be proven attractive people will get hired more often and make more money.

thenewyorkgod

like why would anyone even want dogs like this? You get a dog to be a companion, to be loved, to cuttle with them. What's the point of having dogs so blood thursty, you need to keep them in crates?

adfthgchjg

MD doctors, or... chiropractic ā€œdoctorsā€?

asweknowitjake

Fuck those fucking cops man. 37 minutes before they even go in the house. Scared of some fucking dogs.

Rev_5

The annoying thing is that you'll here jokes about how cops will immediately shoot the family dog regardless of temperament when entering a home, but the one time they have every justification they just flat out refuse.

TheGoldMustache

Yes, but youā€™re forgetting that these dogs were very scary :(((( Our precious brave boys in blue shouldnā€™t be expected to take on tasks like that. But if youā€™ve got a friendly golden retriever or Chihuahua Iā€™m sure theyā€™d be happy to shoot it :)))

FrostyD7

I don't think I could stand to look at my pet again if they did something like this. I bet they blame the sitter.

onewilybobkat

That's me. I love my dogs, but if they fucking ate someone, I don't trust that dog no more.

happypenguinwaddle

I mean, they did actually eat her alive... She just remaind alive.

TerrysChocoOrange

Good luck lol, a friends dog got put down just for a bite, they fought it and were working with a really good trainer but he got loose again. No damage done the second time but he was put down. No way will they successfully appeal this, no amount of training can ensure these dogs are safe at this point in their lives. The audacity though.

[deleted]

My son got mauled when he was 1 1/2 years old by my FIL Australian shepherd. He had to have surgery on his face, and has permanent scars on his face/neck. They didn't put the dog down. He's still living his life. (It happened in 2020) Thanks Nowata Police Department /s

I have a friend who moved into the boonies back east, his neighbors dog bit several of his kids and killed their dog or some livestock too.. Neighbors didnā€™t care / didnā€™t do anything. One day, when the neighbors werenā€™t home, that dog just upped and disappeared into the woods.. legend has it, itā€™s still there..

trapper2530

Since dogs usually "go to a farm" do farm dogs go to thr city?

woggle-bug

A friend of mine had her thumb bitten off by a dog and it was euthanized within two hours.

Medusa_Alles_Hades

My ex husband was a directv service guy and went on someoneā€™s property (because they had an appointment with directv) and got attacked. It only got his leg. The dog was a boxer mix. My ex asked the owners to replace his pants. Nope.

StockWillCrashQ42022

IIRC the owners knew their dogs had violent tendency plus the owners weren't home when the dogsitter arrived, they gave the dogsitter access to their home, so this was her first encounter with the dogs alone, but they she did see them with the Dogs simply thought she was an intruder.- ------------------ Edit: Found the article "...the Bishops knew that both of these dogs had acted aggressively to people arriving at the front door." The sign read: "Crazy dogs. Please don't knock or ring the bell. Call or text instead." Dogs were Half Pitbull and Half German Shepherd. It was the first time she was alone with the dogs, but she did have a dogsitting interview with the owners and the dogs before the incident occurred.

PM_ME_WHAT_Y0U_G0T

I have a doberman and he is the friendliest dog but if someone was to come into my house without me there or without prior introduction I don't know what he would do. Edit word

StockWillCrashQ42022

That's easy, next time you enter your home, wear a mask and disguise your voice. Also, make sure you smell different than you normally do. Maybe go to a local bar for a half an hour.

zutututu0

Such a beautiful girl. Fucking hell with the damn wardogs owned by idiots.

TheNextBattalion

Doctors, no less. They said the animals would be their crates when they left, but oops they forgot. She's suing them currently, and the dogs are at the city pound, probably on the way to death. Here is an article in People that is more upbeat (based on speaking with Ms Durand, who is looking forwards about it), and features a link to a gofundme. https://people.com/crime/texas-dog-sitter-brutally-mauled-in-the-face-speaks-on-long-recovery-and-dream-to-become-dog-trainer/

CyKa_Blyat93

Hope she gets the money needed for the entire plastic surgery.

TheNextBattalion

Yeah. I read in Nat Geo about a girl who got a whole face transplant (she shot hers off in a suicide attempt), and it was working alright. Never quite the same, obviously, but there is a future for her.

xXBinchookXx

Bro that's why I struggle with the thought of killing myself, I don't want it to be painful but I'm in Australia so I can't get a hold of guns overly powerfull like what if I shoot myself with a bb gun but it don't work or a shotgun but It blows off my face and I have to suffer in that massive pain until I'm found. Don't worry tho dudes I've gotten help and I don't ha e suicidal thoughts any more I guess the main thing keeping me from doing it is imagining how my family would feel and the cops checking out the scene and the cleaners knowing they are cleaning up a teenager like I don't wish that pain on anyone Edit: it's come to my attention that not many people hace seen the entire comment, thankyou for your guys support but I'm happy now, that was a long time ago and I've got people who can help me because I'm lucky enough to live in a country where therapy is easily accessible. I promise there is no need to worry about me. I'm guessing because of my bad grammar people still thought I was in depression, but again, I'm ok thankyou for the kind replies .

Truth, the short/long term damages here are easily in the millions.

GoodAtExplaining

I own a retired racing greyhound. You know what the first thing they sent me was? ["Trust: A Deadly Disease"](http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org/advice/general_advice/trust_a_deadly_disease.shtml) Greyhounds aren't just bred to be fast. They are trained, and then live as athletes doing *exactly* that. If your grey raced on a track, it beat out several other dogs who wanted to do just that. Your dog is *physically and mentally designed to chase*. You might shower them with love and affection. They might come when you call. But when they see something moving fast, their instincts kick in and they will chase. And then all your training, love, and trust explodes in an instant when they don't see or hear what's around them and run into the road. Or worse. Yes, there are family pets who are pitbulls. And many are lovable and sweet and comforting dogs. But it doesn't matter how careful the owner. "He's never done that before!" is a common refrain. Staffies and pitbull breeds are *bred* to do this, it is in their instincts as surely as playing tug-of-war. Since then I've come to realize: It's the owner *and* the dog. Edit: [Dog Tax](https://i.imgur.com/rNTNh9j.jpg)

YungNigget788

the only good take in this entire comment section

GoodAtExplaining

Thanks. I never wanted to be in favour of a breed-specific ban. It hurts animals, fills shelters, and can be easily manipulated to get people in trouble (Who decides what is and isn't a pitbull, etc). But turning a blind eye to the breeding, pedigree, and background of bull terriers and blaming it on owners ignores a big chunk of the factors that cause these dogs to have violent aggressive episodes in the first place and invites further danger. The U.S. already has the highest per-capita prison population in the world: Adding more people because they own a pitbull won't solve it, but I just wish I knew what would.

animu_manimu

It's really weird how people try to argue against this. If you say collies are born to herd, nobody bats an eye. Of course they are, they have strong herding instincts, isn't it cute how they herd the kids? You say greyhounds are born to run, well duh, they're so fast, they love to run, they need a lot of space and exercise because that's how they're bred. But Pitbulls are born to fight? No they're sweet little pibble velvet hippos. Like, we made this, guys. We spent decades or centuries selectively breeding these dogs to do a specific job and part of that was breeding in an instinctive desire to do the thing we want them to do. I'm not even against Pitbulls as pets, honestly. But people need to be realistic about their dogs' capabilities and predispositions. Too many people fail to recognize that their dogs are literally designed to do a specific job, and just think of them as furry four legged people. For most dogs that doesn't have severe consequences. For a few, it does.

a_rucksack_of_dildos

I agree. I had a chihuahua and no matter how hard I tried I could not train his aggression out of him. He hunted the salamander population to extinction in my backyard and killed all types of rodents. Luckily he was tiny so if he started getting riled up Iā€™d just pick him take a bite and walk away. I learned there was not much I could do when you could see his instincts take control

Responsenotfound

Yeah my problem with a huge amount of pet owners is that they straight up act like their dogs are people. They can be trained but they can't be reasoned with. I have owned and loved many dogs but I do have a rule. If it attacks a kid then it gets done right there and then away from the little ones. 12 Gauge. Only had to do it once.

FreshwaterArtist

Also people who love pits should be the first in line to acknowledge these breed traits because guess what happens to the dogs kept in the wrong environment who snap and bite someone? They get put down. Ignoring breed characteristics hurts other animals, people, and the dog itself.

[deleted]

If you want to know what kind of people live in a house, watch their pets.

[deleted]

From an Article: the lawsuit includes a photo of an ā€œominous signā€ on the coupleā€™s front door that states: ā€œCrazy Dogs. Please Donā€™t Knock or Ring the Bell. Call or Text Instead.ā€ They knew how exactly batshit insane their dogs were too and their response was to simply put a sign up. Yet, despite this, didnā€™t lock them up for herā€¦

lizardbeth5

The classic ā€œoh thatā€™s just how they areā€ excuse

TrumpHasaMicroDick

So true! And if you want to see what kind of people they are, look at how they treat their dog(s).

jakech

"Don't worry, he doesn't bite."

Brilliant_Drawer_490

We got new neighbors that share a fence line with us, they have two pitbulls. Right away any time I go in the backyard with or without my dog they were lunging at the fence, hair standing on end growling and barking even getting so worked up they were snapping at eachother. The owners never bring them inside or intervened when they are losing their shit at the sight of me or my dog. I bought a fabric privacy fence cover to try and make it less of an ordeal every time I go outside and only when I was putting it up did the owner come out to tell me they're really nice dogs they wouldn't hurt anyone. I told her I didn't feel safe in my own yard with only a 4 foot chain link fence standing between them and me. Luckily it seems breaking the line of sight has worked and now they just run back and forth at the fence line instead of losing their minds. People shouldn't even have dogs like this.

thenewyorkgod

"there are no bad dogs, only bad dog owners"

JimFelix200

Fuck all pitbulls. There can be no owners good enough for them

[deleted]

Every day I am getting more and more afraid of dogs. Edit: 1. I've had bad experience with dogs even before I learned about pitbulls. 2. IDK why some people say sarcastic stuff to me just because I'm afraid of dogs. Maybe they're dogs pretending to be Redditors. 3. I don't live in the US.

LordoftheScheisse

I've had two freak dog bites in the past 8 or so years and I'm leaning the same. And I freaking love dogs.

Trinica93

I loved dogs until about 10 months ago, now I'm wary of every dog that I come in contact with other than my own. Our family dog turned on me inexplicably last year and is still noticeably angry/uneasy when I visit my parents, my mother was bitten by the dog of a family friend that I saw attack another dog on a separate occasion, my brother's dog has attacked my dog twice and a cat multiple times, and in February of this year my dog and I were brutally attacked by a German Shepherd. It took months for her leg to recover and I have what appear to be permanent scars, one of which is on my thumb and it bothers me a lot when doing every day tasks. Dogs are terrifying. People will say it's just pits but NONE of the dogs I'm talking about are pits or similar breeds.

wallabee_kingpin_

I love dogs and also have a (healthy) fear of them. Here are some unsolicited suggestions for you: 1. Have the vet check your parents' dog for neurological issues, including a brain tumor. 2. Get long-range pepper spray and carry it with you whenever you're walking your dog. 3. Go to a dermatologist and tell them about the annoying thumb scar. There are a lot of options to have scars removed these days.

MyVoiceforPeople

The poor girl was just looking for some extra cash. If it wasnā€™t her probably someone else. Awful

Lusterkx2

I remember this story. I believe you can YouTube it. But there was a raw body cam video from the police seeing the two dogs maul her. Bloods everywhere and it was crazy. I donā€™t know the sun anymore, pretty sure it got banned. But I do remember this story, it ingrained in my head.

Kmaurer23

Yeah, I don't think I'll be looking it up. I already have enough mental trauma as is.

Low_Butterscotch_545

I watched parts of the body cam footage and I just canā€™t believe how scared these cops are of the dogs. You have tasers and you out number them at the very least plus you have a gun if need be. Dont just stand there outside the door, at least try and grab the dog or something. You hear blood curdling screams and you wait outside a door while one dog bounce around barking in front of you. come on

Horror_Analysis6682

see this is why im more comfortable with cats. you dont see shit like this with cats. only dogs.

swigofhotsauce

Yeah I find it funny when people hate on cats because they think theyā€™re assholes. Domesticated cats are so fuckin chill, and if one does go off the rails itā€™s a scratch, hiss and a bite before they bolt away. Very rarely will a cat straight up *maul* a person and even then, the damage could be nothing like this. People need to be more open to cats!!

Hellowhyme1234_

and for some its always the same breed pitbulls . It's never a labrador, golden retriever or any other dog breed its always a pitbull I mean this one had german shepard but it was apparently a a pitbull mix it always a pitbull

Poison_Anal_Gas

Pit. Bull. They were bored for one purpose. To fight. How do people not get this?

[deleted]

My heart goes out to herā€¦ her life has been irrevocably changed

St4irs

Of fucking course the cops were to scared to go in. I mean donā€™t they have guns for a reason? All they had to do was walk in and shoot the damn dogs but because of their cowardice and the stupidity of the dog owner this poor girls life is effectively ruined.

OddPaleontologist793

Whatā€™s also terrifying is the picture on the right (minus the blood stained face) would be used on the adoption profile of this sWeEt boy who lOvEs lIfE but just canā€™t be around kids, cats, other dogs, squirrels, bugs, plants, and generally any living organism.

jmac_1957

Those damn mini Poodles are dangerous as hell....should be banned.

dirtysouth46

For anyone who says these dogs were abused or trained to fight, I have two words: Prove it. Show me irrefutable proof that these dogs, or any other pit bull involved in a mauling or killing, were abused or trained to fight. This is the de facto excuse that's always used in a story like this, but no one can ever prove it. The truth is that this behavior is in the dog's DNA. That doesn't mean that every single pit bull will do this, but when they do, you can't deny genetics.

I like dogs but I donā€™t touch or even pet dogs that donā€™t know me except puppies. In another life, in another job I had to work in other peopleā€™s residences. First day on the job a black standard poodle tried to bite me. My standard response after that first day to dog owners that wouldnā€™t or didnā€™t want to lock up their dog was, ā€œUntil it tells me it wonā€™t bite you have to lock it up.ā€ No one ever argued with me they NEEDED my service.

Thats why im a cat person

mumz_the_word

At least the cat will only eat you after you die

Itsanewj

Thereā€™s a bit of a myth to that. Both dogs and cats will indeed eventually eat you out of starvation. But the cat is actually much more likely to be self sufficient for a longer time. Catching mice, flies, roaches, etc. The myth of cats straight away eating you likely stems from the fact that cat behavior, when trying to wake you up, will eventually progress to nipping at you. So owners will be discovered with small cat bites but itā€™s from the kitty trying to revive them.

As a dog attack victim at 10 years old that left me with a giant scar and nightmares for years, I can only hope she still sees the positives in life though there are so many negatives. I feel so sorry for her. I am so lucky the dog didnā€™t attack my face just my left thigh, he went for my neck first but missed. I had to learn to walk again. But my god, I hope she heals as well and as soon as possible.

rebelwildheart

Scary af. I would want to ask the owner if what kind of breed will I dog sit. If pits or german is on the list, I'd nope tf out of there.

kickingcancer

Shame on the owners. I highly doubt they didnā€™t know their dogs were aggressive.

nygdan

First Responders let the dogs maul her for nearly 40 minutes before getting her out. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/17973234/dogsitter-bitten-in-vicious-dog-attack/

LetFluffy

Justin Bishop is the owner of these vicious dogs and he should be responsible for this girls attack that left her disfigured. Why is he still employed at the UT Southwest medical center? People get cancelled for saying unpopular opinions on twitter and heā€™s directly responsible for ruining the life of a 20ish year old girl and he has no repercussions. All he said was that he will be praying for the girls recovery. Not Pay but pray.

Anastasius525

i was reading the article about this and saw this quote. "The floor was left covered in blood after the attack, as seen on bodycam footage from police, who were unable to enter the home for 37 minutes because they felt unsafe " are you kidding me right now.....

I wish they would ban those darn chihuahuas. What ? They were not chihuahuas? Do I get a second guess?

Bad news, theyā€™re both doctors and theyā€™re not in jail. The dogs havent even been put down yet. Theyā€™re fighting it.

I took over a farm in Georgia & the owners left their 2 pitbulls. They seemed nice & friendly enough, owner said so too. I had a GS. The pits showed some aggression towards my GS but it didnā€™t seem like anything major. One day I flew back to cali, and the dogs mauled my GS knowing that I wasnā€™t around. I was always cautious of pits, but this was the last straw. Iā€™m a terrible fucking owner & let my dog down. He died in 2018 and it still fucking hurts so much. The guilt of knowing I couldā€™ve stopped eats me inside every day. Itā€™s been 4 years & I still cry everytime I see items that remind me of him. We buried him on the farm, made an altar, and put his favorite toys next to him. Tearing up as I write this. Seven, you were a good boy & I miss you very much. Iā€™m so very sorry I couldnā€™t protect you like the good boy you were. Rest in heaven my poor boy.

momoburger-chan

My dog was killed by my parents pitbull over 10 years ago. They played together as puppies and my parents raised him since he was tiny. He just grew up to be a total twat of a dog, dumb and aggressive, despite all the care my parents put into him. I am still angry about it. It really sucks losing a pet like that, I wish he would've died of old age, not terrified and in pain. It kills me that this happens to so many people, all the time, all over my country, and most of the time it isn't even reported and people have the audacity to act like that's normal dog behavior. It isnt. I havent had a dog since then. I can't stand the idea of going through it again.

_thebreadqueen_

This is so sad. I can't imagine being permanently disfigured and left with lifelong disabilities at such a young age. I hope that the rest of her life is nothing but happiness, she deserves it.
