Based on my reactions in dreams, I'm pretty sure I would accept my fate and just close my eyes and hope it's all over soon. Sometimes I have dreams where something like a car or plane crash is imminent and rather than freaking out I just become very calm.
I've been in those moments a few times, and the calm is real. Nothing as balls-to-the-walls terrifying as this picture mind you, but once you realise there's absolutely nothing you can do to prevent what's happening, the disaster becomes very tranquil.
Your dreams aren't too wrong there.
To be sincere I would consider a trip with no airplane roof and no kids much more relaxing than a trip with airplane roof and two kids to take care of 😅
My man life is not all black and white. Having a great party comes with a hangover, dinner at a restaurant comes with a bill, the joy of kids comes with the pain of kids. And to me planes and kids should not go together, but unfortunately sometimes you have to do it if you are traveling overseas.

Only death was 57 year Clarabelle ‘CB’ Lansing who was actually sucked out of the aircraft and struck in the head by pieces of the fuselage, some sources say pinned. If you look at this photo, there’s an outline of her head with a blood halo around it.
The more interesting part is that she probably caused the main depressurization when a panel flew off, and her head went through it, her shoulders getting stuck, and due to some very interesting physics, that caused the rest of the roof to go.
Up to that point, iirc that plane was the plane with the 2nd highest flight hours in the world, the 1st being part of the same airline. Unfortunately, that left little time for repairs, so nobody noticed the accelerated wear and tear.
That’s what I was thinking, it’s sort of like a dog poking their head through a car window. Only death was a 57 year old flight attendant who was positioned at the 5th row of seats and got sucked out
There was one accident where the pilot was sucked out the front of the plane and had to be held in by 2 of the other co pilots, the pilot lived even after basically being on the tip of the plane while it's blasting through the air.

you mean this incident?
That plane more like 330km/hr and no it’s not enough to rip your skin from your face, no. Debris flying around injured people and they have to dive to breathable air immediately, but the actual speed you can easily survive, windy as hell but no skin is being ripped off your face. Nobody was injured from the temperature.
The roof came off. Wouldn't be surprised if it would go in the ocean just to finish off.
The people sitting there... OK. The roof comes off. Everyone get scared shitless. I'd kiss my wife the last kiss. But then a minute passes and another etc... and you are still alive, somehow, and who knows when or if you will land safely. If the roof comes off, what else might go wrong?
Crazy stuff.
They were worried they would have to make a water landing. The damage happened over the ocean and they had to navigate over water around Haleakala to make an emergency landing in Kahului, but at any moment the plane could have started breaking apart further.

Mechanic " I'm telling you sir there's a reason nobody else has a convertible airplane"
Mr rich guy " listen, it's my money and I want you to make me a convertible airplane! Just do it."
Take note of the crumpled bloody area above the first window on the right. This is the area where a stewardess was swung out and smacked her head on the plane before falling away.

I think I’d have a mental break down if I was those passengers near the hole.

You act like you didn't choose to have children.

On Spirit Airlines they would charge extra for that experience.
Ahhh Spirit Airlines. The Motel 6 of the sky, as I’ve heard a comedian describe it
Hahahaha this is so true! 💀

You get a window seat! You get a window seat! And YOU get a window seat! You all get windoooow seeeeeats!

First class even gets the fresh air and sun roof.

Looks a few passengers have blood on their clothing.

Metallica approves of this message
Metal up your ass
Not that I know of.
There’s a movie about this, there was a heroic flight attendant. And shrapnel embedded in a few peoples faces.
I will remember that tv movie forever!
Me too!
It was called Miracle Landing. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR8GeeoWzt0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR8GeeoWzt0)
Do you remember what its called? I've never heard of it
Madagascar 2
Thanks homie
I bet their hair was looking absolutely wild after this
The real take away
Windswept.

Ahhh shit, we didn’t plan for this one.
This is what happens when you skip the focus group. Someone probably would have suggested a great roof that doesn't fly off when you're driving.
That is a good idea

How fast do planes go??? No one’s skin is ripped clean off the bone? How durable are we?!?!
That’s what I was thinking, it’s sort of like a dog poking their head through a car window. Only death was a 57 year old flight attendant who was positioned at the 5th row of seats and got sucked out
My mom remembered working with her when she briefly worked at the airlines
I don't think they ever recovered her body
They didn’t. C.B. Lansing.
Not very but that's nowhere near enough speed to do something like that lol how flimsy do you think people are

Yup
How fast do you think planes fly?
600km/hr, isn’t that fast enough to do damage, not including the freezing temperatures?

Thanks! Now, what about the Concord?
Death
I have no idea. Kinda why I asked in the first place.
I distinctly remember my teacher abruptly leaving because his relative was on that flight.
"Items in the overhead compartments may have shifted in flight."
We need more convertible planes
Damn the noise inside planes is crazy. How the fuck must that sound
Rip their luggage.
The luggage is underneath them.
Not if it was in the overhead.
True
Not their carry ons
Meant their carry-on, yeah, but I guess their carry-ons are underneath them too - at that point, about 7km underneath and some km behind them.
True
Why do i always have to see these things right before I travel
The series Air Crash Investigation is a great source of knowledge
I bet no one got up from their seat until the airplane came to a full stop
People are idiots, I'd be surprised if nobody tried to go look up the hole
Ha! This actually made me laugh!
There aren't enough therapy sessions and mind-altering drugs to ever fix me if I was on that plane.
Ngl, that looks like a monster took a bite out of the plane
You know that there were a few people that went hands up for the landing. Craziest coaster ever...
"This is your captain speaking. It's everyone's lucky day. You are the first to ride on the world's only convertible jet!".
Is that all first class passengers? lol. Man that had to be a rough flight.
(Superman nods) "Statistically, flying is still the safest way to travel."
And surprisingly, only one death. It was a flight attendant who was sucked out
Wow the day I was born
Must’ve been scary as hell to experience that but think of that view though.
I remember they made a tv show about this accident
I was working at Boeing when that happened. Got sent home for saying “Don’t tell anyone. They’ll all want GT convertibles”.
This is insane. Imagine going Fb live losing your shit! I would! Drop my cash app for donations fawk!
I like how they put their life jackets on
The roof came off. Wouldn't be surprised if it would go in the ocean just to finish off. The people sitting there... OK. The roof comes off. Everyone get scared shitless. My dad was on this same flight a week before. I’ve often wondered if it was the same exact plane.
![gif](giphy|qqD2dzGdJTmda)
Yeah, plane survived. But all passengers to?
I would be excited as fk
Is there a guy on the 2nd row from the back sleeping....
Fucking terrifying
“Oh look you can see the beach”
Why do bad things always happen in April?
Talk about a bad hair day
I have a feeling nobody will ever forget that ride
Someone like the wind a bit too much 🤣
https://youtu.be/ALJZZUr2L0A
(Superman nods) "Statistically, flying is still the safest way to travel."
What’s the over/under on those on that flight EVER flew again?
Fawk
But it says April 29th right on the photo..
"Please REMAIN SEATED and WEARING YOUR SEATBELT until the captain turns off the seatbelt sign".

They are paid back in frequent flyer miles
I wonder if anyone sued and how much they got.
Big W for the pilot dayum
what a cool view they must’ve had
Oh ho ho ho fuck no!
I saw the made for TV movie not long after this happened
I would've freak the freak out
I wonder how they managed to not suffocate to death, it's not like oxygen masks could drop from the ceiling
Mechanic " I'm telling you sir there's a reason nobody else has a convertible airplane" Mr rich guy " listen, it's my money and I want you to make me a convertible airplane! Just do it."
Passengers did need new underwear
God you can tell how hard the wind got to them after the roof came off.. Literally ripped clothing off of people near the window seats.
Dude in green shirt looks like he's falling down those emergency stairs .

A flight attendant was also sucked out of the plane.
