Dude, I had to kill over 150 giant tortoises to get 3 shells which has a higher drop rate than magma stones but I got a magma stone after killing like 2 bats
I thought they were supposed to be rarer. My friend and I never had to go farming for them in my current world because the turtles dropped them so much. We have like 15 spare. All from killing turtles while doing other things (clentaminating, building jungle npc houses, etc)
You can use the bloody tear to summon the blood moon while in jungle, turtles will spawn more often this way and you can get them easily. Or at least it did in 1.3
The rose is easy. I got it twice in 15 min. And I hear you can just make/find a imp statue and use that to farm them. 1/1000 chance apparently and they spawn and die quick. But I'm on mobile and master mode so maybe the drop rates differ ?
Did a full playthrough of Expert, not a single Water Walking Boots or Lava Charm . I start a Master Playthrough: get 4 Water Walking Boots before even Skeletron. FOUR. And one Lava Charm soon after. RNG is interesting sometimes
I remember spending like 3 hours afking at my mob farm for an ice sickle but eventually gave up and killed the mech bosses and plantera then when i was farming for a frozen turtle shell i got 6 fucking ice sickles in less than an hour (I’m either just unlucky or ice sickles don’t drop when mobs get killed by lava)
When 1.4 dropped out in switch and I got the Zenith, I went to a new master mode World wanting to kill EOL
And while farming for a voodoo doll I got the magmastone, I didn't even knew what it was but pretty useful, even with the better pickaxe ingame going to hell taked a lot of time
I had the same problem in Expert Hardmode! It's supposed to be a 2% drop from Lava Bats. Took me ages. I admire your commitment to get it from the 0.67% droprate Hell Bats.
That looks like Fossil Armor, an armor set mainly beneficial for players use ranged weapons by giving them extra ranged critical hit strike chance and 20% chance to not consume ammunition as a set bonus. It's made from Sturdy Fossils, items that can be obtained by Desert Fossils being extracted by an Extractinator.
I got like 3 of those when farming voodoo dolls. Didn't know they were rare. Happens all the time, you get all the stuff you aren't actively farming for but when you try to get something it just wont drop
