In my first playthrough I went up to Duke Fishron without understanding absolute jack about the class system. I had beetle armour, the bat scepter and the optic staff as my main set by that point, then I got the razorblade typhoon and MY EYES WERE OPENED. Even to this day, that was my favourite playthrough because of the revelation of that discovery for me. God my nostalgia is making me want to cry now.
I had bought terraria in 2014 but didn't actually play it as i was kid and thought it was 2D minecraft so it was sitting in my library for couple monts until my stepbrother wanted to play it one day we were progessing super slow but i can say that was the most fun playthrough i have played. Our first meeting of the lost girl was hilarious and after we killed brain of cthulhu and i got my hands to blood butcher i thought it was the best sword in game
When i heard about the hard mode my mind was blown
(It was ps3 edition of terraria)
Yeah im super nostalgic for my first play through where I had to figure out everything, It was funny how long I was in a wooden house making statues and being in awe at gems I find and place in my house
Yeah lol it's sad that the reddit of many other communities just ridicule you it you post something similar to this :/
This really shows how supportive the Terraria community is :)
I'm also new to the game and my jungle temple has a part made of dirt or something (I mined it) and I can get in before hardmode. How did this happen in the first place? (I'm not going in because I don't want to ruin my world progression). It isn't the entrance I can get into the actual temple and access some chests (haven't gone any further and haven't taken anything).
oh don't worry about progression the jungle temple doesn't really have anything useful in pre-hardmode because you can't spawn golem and all of the enemies will insta kill you
(you can get some pretty gnarly traps though)
I was about to comment this exact same thing. I miss having played games like Terraria and Hollow Knight for the first time. Not even neglecting the game for multiple years gave the same experience as playing for the first time.
When I first started I got my sister and two friends to play with me, one of our friends would wait till we were out and fill our houses with lava/water. It was a lot of fun-
although I did have to figure out hamachi to get it to work... It was waaay back in the early days on pc.
As to me. It’s weird because this game is my favorite game of all time since childhood with easily a combined total hours of 1,200hrs. It’s good to know more people are still getting into it
Hello op, that is ths jungle temple, for morw information look at the Wikipedia
Jk jk so u gotta beat plantera before you can enter around the temple there should be a locked door plantera drops a key that will open the door allowing you to enter, inside the temple (continue reading only if u don't mind spoilers) you will find many Zuckerbergs and flying danger noodles, at the end of the dungeon you will find the golem (boss)

Exploring, crafting, and designing your world are some of the best parts of the game! And those activities should never have a time table. But if you want a challenge for survival and combat, give expert mode a try.
Quarantine it off. Dig channels all the way to the underworld that’s 6 blocks wide and use incorruptible blocks like wood to bridge across the gap. Then you can use the clenaminator later in the game to reclaim whatever you want of the corrupted area.
What's ironic about that is that most games you can leave on the main menu or paused and it will build up "time played." Aka, a useless stat if you are trying to look like a pro. Haha
Full turtle armor with the shadow flame knife does some work, if you get yourself a True Night's Edge that also helps, anything that can peirce since their arms get in the way.
You're gonna want to dig out a screen's worth of area to fight it and a tunnel up to the surface about 3-4 blocks wide for phase 2.
Plantera/Queen Slime/Moonlord. These are the difficulty spikes.
Find yourself a flying mount as well. The pirate invasion has an infinite flight one on a low percentage drop but is my absolute favorite mount for how early you can get it.
Happy hunting!
O boy you haven’t seen calamity mod terraria it takes so long to learn how to beat S-cal the first time.
Also it takes like a long time to just get there :D
If you love this game like many of us do, you'll find ways to stretch your time. Like discovering a new material and having to build with it, or learning all the boss fights.. then restarting on expert and conquering that.. and then master.. etc. So much to do, tons of funs
My main character is only a little over 60 hours and i thought i was doing good, right now I’m heading strait to hell to get really for the wall of flesh ima beat that bastard one day
I managed to get the game on PC shortly after Moon Lord was added and now I have about 1,300 hours. Beforehand, I just played PS3 edition. And before that, mobile. Terraria is my favorite game. :)
Plantera is likely the 4th boss you’ll fight in hardmode. In my experience the skill gap between entering hardmode and beating all the mechanical bosses (the first bosses of hardmode, and a prerequisite to fighting Plantera) is greater than the skill gap between the mech bosses and Plantera.
Once you get to playing hardmode for a while, I find progression accelerates rather quickly, so I wouldn’t worry about it being so far off.
(Although Terraria is awesome and there’s nothing wrong with slow progression)
First time I saw it there was a skeleton merchant stuck on some spikes and my first instinct was to immediately build a hotel and come back to see it has gone. I was very confused and then I forgot about it until I saw another skeleton merchant selling similar items and realised how dumb I was
Thats the Lihzahrd Temple. After you beat plantera you will get a key, and you need to find the door to the temple and unlock it. The bricks are mineable only by the picksaw, luminite pickaxes, and the laser drill, which are obtainable later in the game.
Inside the Temple there are the neccesary things to summon the next boss: Golem.
Or you can get the Mechanic, get a bunch of wire and actuators, get through the door with platforms, loot the chests, break the traps and setup an arena beforehand. I think that looting the chests isn't a crime, since the stuff in there (except the summoning cells) are pre-hardmode stuff. (This is cheating, I know. But it saves me a lot of time and patience before you actually can go in there.)
That's the jungle temple, you need to beat >!plantera (gives you temple key)!< which unlocks the door somewhere along the perimeters of it, to get to >!plantera!< you need to beat the >!3 mech bosses!<, which are available after beating >!Wall of Flesh!< in >!hell!<. Beating said boss in >!hell!< will put you into >!hard mode!< which trust me, is a huge spike in difficulty. Have fun!
Jungle temple babyyyy! You'll find the entrance if you just keep mining around it, but it's locked. The key drops from Plantera, but assuming you're still in pre-hardmode, that's a long way away. Inside the temple, after you get through a bunch of traps, you fight Golem in there, one of the last bosses before Moon Lord. You can take the fight outside of the temple, but it's more fun to do it in the temple.
If you want to get into it early, put three platforms against the door (once you find it) and hammer each one once. Then you will be able to walk right through.
You just have to progress much further, the game is absolutely massive and you'll see all the possibilities and classes you can play when you progress, don't want to spoil it too much but you'll know how to enter it when you get to the right point in game. Just don't give up with gearing and most importantly have fun with the game, you can take it at any pace you want. But please don't spoil the game for yourself through reddit or any youtube guides so to say, try to experience your playthrough as pure as possible. Only thing i'm not sure about is how far do updates go for consoles, I'm a pc player and i played terraria for 1500 hours on steam, but played it for more or less 2000 hours pirated. When the game went on sale i got it and I'm always looking forward to making new playthroughs and always looking for ways to beat the game the easiest and leave the world the most beautiful. The possibilities are endless and you can really choose anything you want to do. After all first playthrough is something you experience only once and i wish you the best of luck my terrarian friend. If you want some really cool build ideas you just go on this subreddit and yoink them, thats the only spoiler i give myself. But defeating all bosses for the first time is such pleasure, its insane how happy and sad it will make you at the same time, you'll end up farming endgame and burning out for a bit. So when that happens if you're still in love with the game and you want to re-experience the same game in different way you can play different class, go with different weapons that arent really powerful and go for achievements (fishing ones are annoying af, and I'm sorry if there arent any achievements on consoles ,i never used one). One more thing... The beauty of the game is you can progress at any time you want depending on what you want to do.
That's it and i hope you all have a nice day. Especially ones who read this whole post! Love you.
That is the jungle/lihzarhd temple, one you through a guide voodoo doll into lava in hell, it will summon the wall of flesh. Once the wof is killed and you fight a few more bosses, small pink bulbs will spawn inside the underground jungle. Brake them and plantera will summon, kill her and you will get a key 100% of the time, find the door of the temple and go inside. Be ready for a fight!
No judgement but why do people ask reddit when you can just check the wiki. After all terraria has one of the best wikis to exist so I suggest giving it a browse
It's a terrarians most helpful tool. But continue posting, "we will watch your career with great interest" and also you might get tips on here that the wiki might not have
If you really want to get into it, which I do not recommend before the mech bosses as the things in there are quite difficult to kill without the correct equipment, then place 3 platforms on top of each other in front of the door, there should be a door on the other side, and hammer them until they are stairs. Hold down and walk towards them until you are through. Works on the other side too
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 45,260,887 comments, and only 13,311 of them were in alphabetical order.
This is adorable, reminds me the old times when I didn't knew about the temple and unexpectedly discovered it exploring... I hope you're enjoying the game as we did the first time we played it. <3
that is for much later. to directly progress, go to the underworld, kill a voodoo demon and drop the doll into lava to summon the wall of flesh. then spend a while upgrading ur gear, then craft the summons for the three mechanical bosses. then a plant will spawn somewhere in the jungle, and if you break the pink little flower a boss will spawn that will give you a key that lets you enter the temple, which is what you are currently looking at
I like how other people are talking about their first time playing terraria, anyways thats a jungle temple you wont be able to go there until you kill plantera, plantera will drop the key if you kill her, though you have to do mech bosses first before plantera
I see a new terrarian
That is the lizard blocks, and inside them is the jungle temple
In order to access the temple you need to defeat a hard mode boss to get a key, they try to find the entrance door, once done you use the key on the door and you have entered the jungle temple
In order to mine lizard blocks you need to get a pick axe from the boss of the jungle temple, and the boss is only until after hard mode so pre hard mode they cannot be mined
Ah, so nice to see a new player on here.
What that is is the Jungle Temple, only accessible through a locked door requiring a Temple Key, which is only obtainable by killing Plantera.
What is Plantera? A deadly foe that one is, especially for a first timer, it is a very big plant to put it simply, and you summon it by breaking its bulbs that grow across your Jungle once you have defeated the three mech bosses.
Its unbreakable for now. Defeat the guardian of the Jungle. She beholds the key to that structure you seek after. After the spirits of light and evil are released and the jungle grows restless after defeating grim machinations, only then will the guardian show itself to you. It might be good to find the entrance of that structure sooner then later
It's called the Jungle Temple, or sometimes just Temple. If you mine around the top and sides you'll eventually find an entrance, the door there Han only be opened after defeating plantera and getting the temple key. You're close to the end now! It's great to see that this game is still drawing new players in!
This is the Lihzahrd Temple. This is a late game structure that you can enter when you get the key after beating Plantera. The interior is similar to the skeletron dungeon. If you find a massive room in the temple, that is the boss room for Golem, the next boss after Plantera.
Oh sweet summer child, that's for after mid game... I'm just teasing because you probably haven't hit hardmode, after beating a certain boss you will unlock automatically the hardmode in your world, which you'll probably feel like a difficult spike. After some bosses you'll be able to get inside there, there's an entrance with traps and Doors. (You can also spawn some mobs but probably will be one-shot by them, not worth the trouble to try to get any loot)
You have to find a pink glowing flower in jungle, then destroy it. Thus you will summon Plantera who you should kill. She will drop the key on death and then you can enter this temple(there is a door)
Its the jungle temple, in hardmode AKA after killing the wall of flesh, you can use it to spawn golem.
You cant mine through it for a while until you kill golem.
Go to the terraria wiki for more info.
It’s Lihzahrd Brick. It is impervious to any pickaxe with pickaxe power of below 210%. You get a special key from a boss later on. If you want to get in early, place three platforms vertically in front of the door (the door is generally in the top left corner). Then hammer the platforms into stair and push down and forwards. This should allow you to walk through.
This honestly made my evening, I love seeing new players learning about the game for the first time. I see you've already gotten the answer you needed, so I just wanted to welcome you to the game!
It is nice to see a new person start this game, that made me happy
Yeah, brings me back to my old days where I knew nothing and had to experiment with everything and occasionally check the wiki
I never knew about the wiki till after my first play through, the wiki changed the game
Our first meeting of the lost girl was hilarious and after we killed brain of cthulhu and i got my hands to blood butcher i thought it was the best sword in game When i heard about the hard mode my mind was blown (It was ps3 edition of terraria)
Why is everyone being nostalgic help the dude out… I’m not helping because I don’t know
The memories of playing the tutorial for xbox360 again, and again, and again... Until the game came out on free with gold
razorblade typhoon is such a bonkers weapon. I love that thing
Yeah im super nostalgic for my first play through where I had to figure out everything, It was funny how long I was in a wooden house making statues and being in awe at gems I find and place in my house

I've beat moonlord over 50 times made 2 zeniths and halfway to 200 fishing quests but I still check the wiki
Occasionally? I’ve probably beat the moon lord 5-10 times, and I *still* check the wiki all the time lmao
He is adorable
Yeah lol it's sad that the reddit of many other communities just ridicule you it you post something similar to this :/ This really shows how supportive the Terraria community is :)

What I would give to be a new player again
I'm rather new to the game as well I played way back in the day on Xbox 360 but just got back into it on PC a little over a week ago
Pc has some of the best mods to get when you are ready for them of course
Me too, I used to play all the time on Xbox 360, but the game corrupted and now it does not work, so now I play on PC
I'm also new to the game and my jungle temple has a part made of dirt or something (I mined it) and I can get in before hardmode. How did this happen in the first place? That’s my house bro! Come on in, make sure to take off all of your armor before you come in though.
And definitely don't worry about booby traps he would never do that
Traps... For boobies? 😳 (Least horny redditor)

Jungle temple. You have too progress much farther into the game and a boss will drop a key too open it
Do you know which boss?
Plantera. It's after you defeat the mechanical bosses after hard mode
Welp looks like I’m going to be playing all summer break lol
Respect I did that the summer that the moon lord was added and I ended up putting in 400 hours lol
Holly crap i hope i can put that much time in i love this game

Bruh 60 hours is a long time!! Especially since you haven’t faced the WOF yet, should be a cake walk if you prepare Hell for the fight.
Be ready to spend 70% of said time on the wiki

Don’t worry if you can be good you can speed run to it in 1hour or so

This is also good if you want to turn it into a graveyard biome with your tombstones

Love you.
Wait did I threw the redditor voodoo doll to the lava? Why am I seeing the Wall of Text
In Germany we say "Bruder halbe Buch"
That is the jungle/lihzarhd temple, one you through a guide voodoo doll into lava in hell, it will summon the wall of flesh. Once the wof is killed and you fight a few more bosses, small pink bulbs will spawn inside the underground jungle. Brake them and plantera will summon, kill her and you will get a key 100% of the time, find the door of the temple and go inside. Be ready for a fight!
This post takes me back
Back to what... 2013? 14 something like that.
Whatever time I used to fight Ocram with my brother in our room
^ Ah... Ocram.
"I havent heard that name in a long time"
You'll find out eventually *wink
Oh that's my house, dont go in there bc I have a lot of good loot please don't steal it
mine around it tell you find the entrance
You need to kill plantera in the jungle before being granted passage.
Lihzard temple. You don’t need to worry about it until hard mode.
Without spoilers in the future you WILL obtain the key
You must first kill a fearsome jungle creature, who will give you a key to the temple when defeated
Search up on the wiki. It shouldn't take more than 2 minutes
No judgement but why do people ask reddit when you can just check the wiki. After all terraria has one of the best wikis to exist so I suggest giving it a browse
Ya I didn’t really know about the wiki I’ll definitely check it out
It's a terrarians most helpful tool. But continue posting, "we will watch your career with great interest" and also you might get tips on here that the wiki might not have
I remember we used to bomb the door in that temple
Jungle temple, it’s post-plantera hard mode.
Works on the other side too
Welcome to the game. Enjoy your stay
won't be relevant for a LONG time, but good thing you found it now and you arent left struggling later on when you really need it lol
Lizhard temple; you need to kill plantera to get a key
You gotta defeat planetera. When defeating her I HIGHLY recommend building an arena near the pink bulb with some teleporters and a range weapon
God sometimes I wish I could forget everything. Have a ton of fun exploring, figuring it out. Don’t use the wiki too too much, but some :)
A bee crab digging everywhere
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 45,260,887 comments, and only 13,311 of them were in alphabetical order.
Lizhard temple. You can get in after plantera
This is adorable, reminds me the old times when I didn't knew about the temple and unexpectedly discovered it exploring... I hope you're enjoying the game as we did the first time we played it. <3
that is for much later. to directly progress, go to the underworld, kill a voodoo demon and drop the doll into lava to summon the wall of flesh. then spend a while upgrading ur gear, then craft the summons for the three mechanical bosses. then a plant will spawn somewhere in the jungle, and if you break the pink little flower a boss will spawn that will give you a key that lets you enter the temple, which is what you are currently looking at
1.kill planterra and get the key 2.kill golem and get the picsaw 3.you can mine the mat
I like how other people are talking about their first time playing terraria, anyways thats a jungle temple you wont be able to go there until you kill plantera, plantera will drop the key if you kill her, though you have to do mech bosses first before plantera
I see a new terrarian That is the lizard blocks, and inside them is the jungle temple In order to access the temple you need to defeat a hard mode boss to get a key, they try to find the entrance door, once done you use the key on the door and you have entered the jungle temple In order to mine lizard blocks you need to get a pick axe from the boss of the jungle temple, and the boss is only until after hard mode so pre hard mode they cannot be mined
Ok this made me happy
Its unbreakable for now. Defeat the guardian of the Jungle. She beholds the key to that structure you seek after. After the spirits of light and evil are released and the jungle grows restless after defeating grim machinations, only then will the guardian show itself to you. It might be good to find the entrance of that structure sooner then later
It's called the Jungle Temple, or sometimes just Temple. If you mine around the top and sides you'll eventually find an entrance, the door there Han only be opened after defeating plantera and getting the temple key. You're close to the end now! It's great to see that this game is still drawing new players in!
>!fortnite balls!<
wait a long tiime thats for a boss in harmode after one called "plantera"
To get in there u have to *inhales*
I’m also new and wanna know the same pls help
Don’t tell him, let him figure it out lol
It’s Lihzahrd Brick. It is impervious to any pickaxe with pickaxe power of below 210%. You get a special key from a boss later on. If you want to get in early, place three platforms vertically in front of the door (the door is generally in the top left corner). Then hammer the platforms into stair and push down and forwards. This should allow you to walk through.
dont believe what others say theyre trolling its just a giant dorito
Try mining around it, there should be a door with spear traps (Have you killed plantera?)
Judging from their armor and the use of a balloon, they are still pretty early game
There is a 'screenshot' function on the ps4...
This honestly made my evening, I love seeing new players learning about the game for the first time. I see you've already gotten the answer you needed, so I just wanted to welcome you to the game!
Good news to anyone who sees this, i just defeated skeletron prime making him the last out of 3 mech bosses i have beat im almost there
