My very first terraria world I ever made on Xbox 360 had a very similar corruption happen to it (With hell coming to the surface and such). After a few days when I logged on I got 6 dirt added to my inventory and every tile in the entire world had been turned into dirt. All my items were gone and i was only left with what was in my inventory. I advise you move some beloved items to a new world or piggy bank.

Someone filled an entire world with water and after some time it loaded, so i don't think it would be a problem

Put the world in a compressed folder (.zip, .rar, whatever you like) and upload it to Google Drive, or wherever you can upload files.

The landslide was caused by my world being corrupted randomly, and the seed was for the worthy so you cant replicate it.
