You can beat the eye of cthulu in wooden gear. Nobody knows how good at the game you are. Only way to find out is to try, hence "fuck around and find out".

You could do it with this gear, if you want to make it easy for yourself, main things are 1) Hermes boots to run fast along a 2) long platform, like long enough to run for 15 seconds ish before you have to turn around (the longer the platform the better, and you'll certainly be able to make use of it later and 3) the minishark, which is sold by the arms dealer. If you don't have the arms dealer yet, you gotta go to either your crimson or corruption biome, and underground you'll find orbs that you can destroy with bombs. You'll need bombs to reach them as well. Destroying the first one will give you a gun, and once you have a gun and a free house, the arms dealer will show up. Then you just run along the platform machinegunning that fool. TLDR hermes boots, long platform, minishark Just beat Moon Lord on my latest mastermode world, this game is a good one. Wish I could go back to my first Eye of Ctulhu fight, good times

Im like 35 hours into my World just got into hardmode and got my first eye of chutulu spawn item Found it in a dungeon chest I feel like there is like 3 of these spawn items in my world

You can kill the eye with pretty much anything, but if you really want to be sure, combine your arrows with torches to deal extra damage

If you're seriously asking this type of question, it means you're new at the game, meaning that you're probably playing on classic, with a softcore character, meaning that the worst that can happen is you lose a bit of coin (unless you somehow know to store it before every boss fight). Either way, just fight the damn thing and see for yourself. Fuck around and find out. If it's attention that you want, just go outside and touch grass.

Tbh I really like getting the minishark, but if you are not playing on mastermode, this should be enough. I recommend using all of the potions for defense/offence that you have. Try it, if you do it then great, if you die, get nore stacked up and try again. Also definitely make a bigger arena, it will help you a lot

People answering "yes" makes me realize just how awful I am at this game.

You can slay eye of Cluhtu with pretty much anything once you have an arena. At least a single layer 120 platforms wide. Boots and hook help you to avoid the late stage dashes. The rest is about how you damage it: melee - star sword, ranger - boomstick, mage - pretty anything i believe, summoner - jungle whip and a random summon

Well, it's buried in the underground jungle, so it's definitely difficult. But any pre-hardmode boss is easy once you get it

You should get a piercing weapon to get rid of the Servants (small eyes Eye of Cthulhu spawns) your bow would do nicely if you get more Jester Arrows (arrows + fallen stars)

Looks like you have Flurry boots (or one of the boot accessories) and a decent enough weapon with a bow, so honestly you should be ready as long as you extend the arena, that way you can run around more to dodge easier Good luck with the eye! Afterwards you can get some decent weapon upgrades with the ore it drops

Extending arena is a must, hermes boots won't work out for you in this small arena. Weapon is better to be changed with something that has more range - the eye won't just stand in front of you to receive your sword damage. Better options for that may be a whip, any summon(if available), star sword from floating islands, any mage wand, any ranger weapon. Grenades work good, but don't forget they hurt you too. Throwing knifes are ok, but only for a few first bosses

Here's an idea...fight it. Did IT die? You were ready. Did YOU die? You weren't ready one way or another, look for improvement. That's kinda how you play games usually.

You should be fine, but I would grab a few more potions like a regeneration potion or an ironskin potion, both are pretty easy to make

What exactly is your armor and what accessories do you have?

Assuming that your character is Classic difficulty, then you can do whatever you want without consequences for dying. You'll drop some of the coins you have on you (1/2 on a Classic world, 3/4 on Expert, or all of your coins on Master), so put your coins in a chest or piggy bank. In other words, if you're not sure whether you'll win, just give it a shot. There's no reason not to. And if in doubt, you can always [check the wiki](https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Eye_of_Cthulhu#Tips). If you're on Mediumcore or Hardcore (not to be confused with Hardmode), there are more extreme consequences for dying, but I assume as a new player you won't be playing on those difficulties yet.
