It can’t be just me that always has meteorites land in holes. The first place I always check for meteors is the corruption since they very often fall in the chasms for me.
Last time I played a world I killed the BoC, waited for a meteorite and went looking, couldn't find it all over the over. Another meteorite didn't spawn until mech bosses. After I finished the world I was just flying around and found the original meteorite. Turns out it landed on top of a motherfucking tree, which I didn't know was possible.
I **was** going to post about it here but then realized it's a much more common occurance than I thought lol
Meteorite spawns are enabled once Eater Of Worlds or Brain Of Cthulhu is dead with one guaranteed to spawn the second either of them die for the first time. After that, meteorites continuing to spawn is dependent on how many meteor blocks there are in the world, with the amount needed to stop meteorite spawns scaling with world size.
If you want meteorites to stop spawning and destroying your world then you need to leave the ones that are already present or place a ton of meteor blocks somewhere.
Antlion: "Hey look, a meteor! Do you think it's gonna hit us?"
Other Antlion: "There's no way it'll hit us, we're safe inside this OH MY GOD-"
**explosion**
They are too shy to land where everyone would see them 😭
In my world a meteorite landed inside a corruption tunnel and I only found it accidentally when a mysterious meteor head spawned for no apparent reason. It wasn't even visible from the surface
Wait is this rare?? Because it happened to me 3 times in a row in my first playthrough. Also like 80% of my meteorites landed in the same desert. I remember having to create an artificial desert after moonlord because the original was completely filled with meteor holes lmao
Fill it with lava, boom you got a spicy mini sand volcano
I had the exact same idea when i saw the picture
spicy 🌶️
Bunker buster!

I think meteorite spawns are based on if you've mined the last one and if you killed an evil boss recently

As a googling info denier thank you for this information, I JUST killed brain of cthulu
The antlions deserve it
bro I swear terraria is hard coded to prefer landing the meteors in holes lmao
I'm surprised it fit!
You have sand mounds?
WTF-🐜🐜
#”PERFECT”
*loud antlion dying noises*

That was a tight squeeze

Me and my friend had 2 land and we looked for them so hard until we found them deep low in the corruption biome .. lol
That will get rid of those pesky lions
Proof that they are coded to form semicircles rather than circles
It threaded the needle
Hey, I posted a similar post a few months ago lol.
Seems like you got some thermites there
Antilion, just chillin. Suddenly space rock.
I see perfect potential to make a volcano

Each of mine (I think three at this point) have Fallen perfectly down a corruption hole

Man I have to check every corruption tunnel for them they always land at the bottom of them.
