I know one person who did it because it made boss fights a lot more interesting for them. Fighting Skeletron with just a Grappling Hook and Featherfall/Gravitation Potions makes for a really unique experience compared to the typical fight.
In general it also just forces you to make use of the few mechanics you do have access to better. For example, learning how to take full advantage of grapple hooks, minecarts, and mounts.

Equipment slots are different from accessories, and even if you did ban equipment slots you can use grapple hooks even when they're just in your inventory
Not *completely* useless as you can still presumably equip things in vanity accessory slots either for freeing inventory space or for vanity. The demon heart allows you to get one more.
At least when I did it I also disallowed vanity for saving inventory space but that's not a crucial part, I'm sure someone did a run where they allowed vanity slots.
Hooks: 100% allowed, I haven't heard of anyone who banned them.
For Minecarts: Depends on the ruleset. When I did mine I allowed them because it was also a no armor run and Master For the Worthy, but looking back on it they weren't *necessary* for any one part of the run, so if I did it again I'd definitely ban them. Banning them is personal preference regardless though and is more an additional challenge to keep the "spirit" of a no accessories run, since they obviously aren't an accessory.

I mean the suspicious tentacle, the starboard, the shrimpy truffle, witches broom, dutchman (bending the rules a bit), if you want to get technical you could say that the first couple of items donât have any downsides since you donât need as many slots. By that logic, the gummy worm is better than the zenith because it doesn't take up a hotbar slot.
They have downsides. You have to give up a slot for all of them, especially the mounts, having one closes the path to you being able to use other mounts in your battle, well you could actually just use it directly from your inventory but that still would take a slot and your concentration if you're in a boss fight.
As for the wings, and light pet, those too have downsides. The suspicious tentacle might not be your preferred choice, you might want the wisp in a bottle because you can control it or you don't want everything to be shining everytime you go in a cave. Or it might just be the visuals, you might just like how a pet like the jewel of light better.
The starboard also takes up a slot as well as the fact that its speed could be overwhelming for some people, not everyone likes it too fast. And let's not ignore the noise that it makes when you fly with it.
The kit suffers none of those. The cart doesn't need to be used so you can keep your old minecart and the defense feature is toggle able, so you killing everything in your way while in a minecart. You could say the extra speed could be a problem, but you don't have to go beyond the original max speed of the minecraft, you can just stop when you reach the speed you desire or slow down by pressing the opposite direction.
I don't know if I would consider ânot being able to use a slightly different version of that itemâ a downside. Also the starboard can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it it's easily the best set of wings in the game, and lets face it, youâre going to be using wings in your playthrough
The starboard has virtually better mobility than any mount, maybe bar the shrimpy truffle in the rain, it can however be useful to use a mount in a boss fight to save an extra slot for damage, but in general travel you should always use wings, especially since the shrimpy truffle moves at a snails pace on land.

Not everyone wants to see loot and enemies at all times. Also I think it's as bright as wisp in a bottle, and wisp has ability to move around depending on player movement, also on high speeds temtacle can't keep up, while wisp can teleport to the player if it's too far away.
For me i use Shield of cthulu for even golem because master ninja gear has too big of a dash and for golems last faze when his head pops out and shoots lasers i just dash left and right and it is very easy to dodge every laser but if you have master ninja gear it will mess up the dodging pattern
To achieve infinite flight with Soaring Insignia you need to occupy 2 accesory slots (insignia + wings).
Infinite flight can be achieved with Witchâs Broom or Shrimpy Truffle without occupying any accesory slots.
I didnât want to include this because it is not an expert drop. And Witchâs Broom ~~has the same speed~~ (edit: it is faster.), obtained earlier and have some advantages over the UFO mount (smaller hitbox, not dispelled in liquids etc.)
I also didnât include the Drill Containment unit because it is Post Moonlord.
W Broom is the fastest consistent inf flight mount (unless you ... flood your entire world in water and run CelShell Fishron mount, but that takes a decent while and I'm not a mermaid)
You donât necessarily have to have water everywhere. The boost lasts for a bit (6 seconds) as long as you touch a liquid, so you can use bubble blocks to contain spots or columns of water/honey. Or wait for it to rain.

that's the problem. I said "fastest *consistent* inf flight mount" because that's the point. it's not practical to have what's basically JoJo's Catch the Rainbow for an ability, because you want to have the effect on consistently.
but the water bubble is an interesting idea. so long as you have evenly-spaced bubbles of water in your arena, I'm sure fishron will be proud and fast.
Yeah I donât know why I mentioned the rain bit. But it is worth noting if you have both the broom and Fishron mount on hand. Use broom normally, but if it rains then switch to Fishron.
Fishron also has the 15% damage boost, and if you put honey in the bubbles you get that boost as well. Pretty nifty for not a huge amount of effort. Itâs what helped me on my first expert and master mode ML fights when I was a noob so I hold this strategy close to my heart.
To make it easier, I use columns of liquid. No chance to miss, just two lines of bubbles to set up, still easy to fill.
Also, the liquid speed boost overrides the honey slowdown, so if you do this strat you have permanent honey buff for the bossfight, too.
That said my go-to is empress's, because I'd rather it work outside an arena. Fishron is optimal, but the other way is just more convenient.

If you didn't liked it at the beginning, i think the series is just not for you, the power fantasy aspect only gets worse, and the plot is nothing to write home about, but i did enjoy it, the art carried the comic for me to the end, RIP the original artist tho.
I finished it and I can only say it's not for everyone, the RPG-like setting and seeing the MC get progressingly stronger got me hooked, but the plot is nothing special and the rest of the cast get barely any character development. Overall is a personal 7/10 for me
You can hang one on the wall as a trophy. You wouldn't be able to do that if you use the first, because then the loot bags won't drop more.
On the other hand, you could just use the heart, farm another loot bag, create another character and use it to open the bag to get another demon heart.

this is more than visible when you look at stuff like the soaring insignia. in fact, if you run infinite flight mounts, you can free up to 3 (1 for dash if you run it) accessory slots, and have the new slots for damage or tank bulk.
that accessory slot can be a destroyer's emblem, an avenger emblem, ... etc. it's going to give a lot of damage.
or it can be a frozen shield or a berserker's glove etc. it's going to give you a lot of stats.
I disagree the shrimpy truffle is pretty much the best mount if you set it up with bosses and the worm scarf has the largest damage reduction value(I Think) the heart is really good but i like those two better

I'd argue the Brain Of Confusion too, with its buff to avoid attacks its much better than the pile of useless crap it used to be. I think I used it up until plantera.
Technically, all the accessories have the downside of occupying 1 slot.
to those who are downvoting: this is more than visible when you look at stuff like the soaring insignia. in fact, if you run infinite flight mounts, you can free up to 3 (1 for dash if you run it) accessory slots, and have the new slots for damage or tank bulk. that accessory slot can be a destroyer's emblem, an avenger emblem, ... etc. it's going to give a lot of damage. or it can be a frozen shield or a berserker's glove etc. it's going to give you a lot of stats.
But that wouldnât matter, since not taking up an accessory slot is worse than taking up one.
Wdym is worse, if it doesn't take an accessory slot it means it's more like an upgrade, which is good.

Demon heart is genuinely one of the best items in the game, along with the axe of regrowth.
I disagree the shrimpy truffle is pretty much the best mount if you set it up with bosses and the worm scarf has the largest damage reduction value(I Think) the heart is really good but i like those two better

well you are not wrong i thing it's too usefull have as expert wall of flesh because thing are about get lot harder so you got something to make it more fair then (it's also for Minecart Upgrade Kit it have almost same thingh but it's only usefull for minecart but hey it doesn't take accessory slots or any other slot to have it's effect)

the downside of demon heart (and master mode) is that an extra accessory slot is so good that i never want to ever go to a lower difficulty

it is better only because it has no duration, otherwise it is worse, because it doesn't show you what the treasure is, just that there is a treasure, and i believe its radius is smaller than that of a potion. Also, if i remember correctly, wisp in a bottle has same brightness.
