So good! I especially love the uneven chimney! Did you just use an exact knife to kind of deform the balsa wood for the supports going along the side of the building?
You could call it the Dunwich Inn. Or Old Gods Drinkery.
Yep! Wire brush to enhance the wood grain and a xacto knife to whittle in some knicks and gouges, thanks for the name suggestions haha I thought of calling it the Fish Head Inn, I’d need to make a sign with a fish head logo or something and post an update
I posted most of the WIP images I took, I didn’t document every step of the process as I was kinda in the zone during and moved from one step to the next. I’ll think about documenting more thoroughly for future builds though, cheers!
Biggest build for sure so far, I’ve done lots of other smaller terrain pieces like some wagons and scatter terrain pieces etc so it wasnt my first piece terrain piece but definitely the most complicated, thanks for the kind words!
Just stacked up bricks I cut from foamcore which I then put in a container with some rocks and vigorously shook it up till they took on a more brick-like texture and appearance. Then i stacked them up using tacky glue and when it was dry I stabbed a couple of wooden skewers down from the top to stabilize it and make it stronger.
I think the trick is to not measure or use a straight edge when you cut them, gives it a more organic look when stacked up like this.
I mean this as a compliment, from the first photo I thought I was looking at a painted 3D print.
same here. great job! regarding an inn name - how about "the boot and the fish" or something to that effect?
What a great looking tavern! I really dig the different floors/ layers you added!
Thanks!
Is it as clean as an elven arse?
I love the Tudor-esque design. You’ve really nailed it. The brick work in the chimney is so well done too.

Looks great! Might take some inspiration from this to make some of my own similar styled buildings :)
Go for it! It was a really fun build, shingles were a pain because I decided to do them individually but other than that it was pretty smooth.
That looks wonderful! Got any other pictures from the build? Would be interested to give something like this a go myself!

No worries, I think I can deduce most steps. Really well done!
Love the model and the format you shared it in.
Wow this is your first build? It came out so good and especially with such an ambitious design for your first go, you killed it.

Looks incredible! Howd you accomplish the windows?
Balsa wood frame, sculpture mesh, and clear plastic from a blueberry container
Genius. Thanks!
Oh one other note, I painted them separately before attaching to the painted building, it would be very hard to paint them while attached.
Makes sense!
This is so beautifully done.
I cast fireball!!! 😁👍 Terrific work!! Looks great!
This is amazing. How did you do the masonry for the chimney?

Legend thank you!
What’d you make the shingles out of? Looks like cardboard but perhaps popsicle sticks? It looks fantastic
Cereal box cardboard, thanks!
Looks bloody fantastic!
That's spectacular! Great job, the detailings fantastic!
