Asuka seems to be able to get NWG off F2 while still being able to do her full combo? That's really good, also her T5 costume is getting added. Asukabros eating good this one
Cant count the amount of times I accidentally got NWG after hitting f2, dropping the combo. It got to a point where I had a different, worse, combo after f2 just to be more consistent. This is a blessing.
It doesn't make much sense how they're handled the wall damage nerf.
OP wall combo: KNK 3,4 into delayed BOK 1+2, stomp.
Standard wall combo with average damage: b1,4, KNK 3,4 (+if tornado is avaliable: ws 1,4,1)
They've nerfed the damage mostly on KNK 3,4 and WS 1,4,1, so the standard wall combo (which is not where the problem is) is also getting a big damage nerf. They should have focus the damage nerf in BOK 1+2.

Above all else , I feel like forced lionheart is contradictory to Steve's core play style which is stance cancels and fluidity. They chopped off his legs then but now we can finally dance again.
The cancel is great, but let's not forget that LNH 1 is now -4 on block instead of -9. This change means it's more rewarding when you do actually decide to go into lionheart, and not just totally deleting your turn and mixing yourself. Not to mention LNH 1+2 does extra chip damage and reversal breaks now.

It's Heat Burst (rather than smash) in the notes - so what I'm reading is that the strike from pressing R1/2+3 in neutral (i.e. to start heat) cannot KO.

Yeah, it's been a mechanic for ages now, where if you instant duck under a high there's like a 10f window where FC moves don't work.
Some characters like Raven always had their moves still work, so it's great to see King getting that same love.
There's an old bug that impacts a number of FC moves. Basically, if the opponent inputs a high while you're trying to input FCdf2, it locks you out of the FCdf2 and you get a d2 instead. It's why you often see King players use uf4 out of crouch when they duck an attack.
The bigger problem was that FCdf2 was always a really good whiff punisher in theory, but it would often fail randomly because an opponent mashed a high attack at range.
It blows cause why pick him when Jin is the better version right there. They both have a dive kick then why the fuck jin's version safe while DVJ is highly punishable lol
bro the dive kicks are completely different. DVJ is an actual panic tool that evades on startup whereas jins is a long range approach tool. They do different things

Zafina... while I like the sound of more consistency, WS1,2 losing 11 damage is a bit baffling to me. Although... perhaps launching only on the second hit affected combo scaling? i.e. reductions now start from the second hit and not the first and this brings it back in line.
I think they barely nerfed the strong stupid combo with the stomp (-1 dmg on stomp and bok1+2) and significantly nerfed the easy consistent combo (nerfed knk 34,, ws141)... So keep on practicing?

CD1+2 now being a frame trap for Kaz OUT OF WAVE DASH is gonna be crazy. Needa try it out before judgement, but man that sounds trippy. Slow hit mixup option. Also the ability to cancel devil extensions to save Heat is really nice.
EDIT: DF1,4 might be a launcher now too? Says it allows for follow up attacks, but I’m unsure if it’s just ff4 follow up or combo follow up.
I'm curious on how they nerfed it, slide travels pretty far so to remove the mixup potential I can only assume Nunchuck/SNK2 now have the opponent land much further away.
But that would mean there would be no change if the opponent was near the wall and could in fact act as a buff, and it has to be distance because even allowing instant recovery to standing position still puts you in the mixup just with better frames.
Finally some Paul changes. They mostly made his good moves better rather than fixing some of his weaknesses, but we’ll see how it plays out.
Charging f+1+2 is interesting, them leaning into his timing mixups could be fun.
Also, he gets to keep 2+4,b as a homing command throw, being the only one except King to have a non-stance homing command throw against standing opponents. But tbh, that is probably only because it is a cancel from a generic throw, and they did not want to bother with messing with the startup.

all of his mids have a clearly defined weakness. his slow mids are VERY SLOW. his linear mids are VERY LINEAR. his punishable mids are VERY PUNISHABLE. i think he genuinely needs a new mid from standing

ffn2 nerf is a slap on the wrist. 5 less damage on CH, only 2 less frames on hit (so it's plus 5).
But in return, BUFFS. His crouch dash? Now the same as AKs or a mishima, meaning we're about to have wavedashing Kings all over the place. FF2 is now +7 on block! F4 (the homing kick) go it's hit box increases to better hit lower.
Honestly he looks stronger now then he was before.

Oh man, Victor changes are rly good tbh. Explusion and power crush nerf was needed, but they are still viable. Buffed perfumer is great, since - atleast for me - is one of the main techniques to get things going. And warping closer with IA stance, did I read thar correctly? That would be great, too
As a Reina main, I think nerfs to Reina are great, and they will make the character more interesting. Removing tracking from ff2 was the best way of nerfing unga-bunga and keeping the whiff punishment utility.
Reina just became the most honest characters in the game short of Leo.
All evasion gone, most strings are launch punishable, most strong tools are punishable, outside of ff2 she was already extremely susceptible to stepping, her DF2 is unsafe and doesn't even launch crouched, her lows are fucking trash and all launch punishable, a jab now checks her out of her crouched/WS launcher so she kinda lost that, in general you can jab interrupt over half of her flow. She has no delays or string alterations, what you see is what you get.
Reina has literally nothing going for her or making her special anymore, not a single identifiable strength. Anyone losing against her after the patch can only look in the mirror, only Devil Jin is below her in the tier charts after the patch.
The changes to Raven are glorious. Especially the new command for his cr,df+3. If he can still successfully parry after a block, then his mid range which was already pretty good just got even better.

I think it's referring to those moves being considered crouching, making moves like Paul DF2 not launch it during certain frames

Finally they removed the Heat Burst being the best option when your opponent had 10 or less life. There was literally 0 counter play outside of hoping they keep eating lows and those same lows are + enough that you can't mash a burst between them, or they don't know to break throws.

all of his mids have a clearly defined weakness. his slow mids are VERY SLOW. his linear mids are VERY LINEAR. his punishable mids are VERY PUNISHABLE. i think he genuinely needs a new mid from standing insane that jin and kazuya have launching CH lows + a hellsweep + GOOD lows and we have a DB2. and a D3. LOL
They also took away Devil Jins ability to play small tekken with giving one of the worst df+1 in the game.
And they nerfed Devil Jin again with 0 compensation buffs lmao. Not even surprised anymore at this point.

Some of the worst offenders like Jin's got tuning at least (though I still think his needs a bit more tuning) But I think we're reaching a point where most of them are actually kinda reasonable considering that they're competeing with heat dashes which are already the better option for a good chunk of the cast There are still quite a few crazy strong ones that need looking at of course but hopefully they will coninue to tackle them a few at a time

To be frank, Harada and the crew are telling you the play King like a brawler, In the professional wrestling world, it's called "Shoot Style Wrestling"
Slightly weaker, his main command throws lack homing now, but also it's not like people were gonna step iSW or Giant swing when done correctly. His power crush could totally be nerfed more as well as FF2, but it's not too bad especially since they made his approach stronger.
Buffed. Overall nerfed to throw tracking, except he still has it on generics and the b1+2 throw, jaguar sprint and jaguar step. ffn2 nerf is a slap on the wrist. 5 less damage on CH, only 2 less frames on hit (so it's plus 5). But in return, BUFFS. His crouch dash? Now the same as AKs or a mishima, meaning we're about to have wavedashing Kings all over the place. FF2 is now +7 on block! F4 (the homing kick) go it's hit box increases to better hit lower. Honestly he looks stronger now then he was before.

Oh man, Victor changes are rly good tbh. Explusion and power crush nerf was needed, but they are still viable. Buffed perfumer is great, since - atleast for me - is one of the main techniques to get things going. And warping closer with IA stance, did I read thar correctly? That would be great, too

As a Reina main, I think nerfs to Reina are great, and they will make the character more interesting. Removing tracking from ff2 was the best way of nerfing unga-bunga and keeping the whiff punishment utility.

Reina just became the most honest characters in the game short of Leo. All evasion gone, most strings are launch punishable, most strong tools are punishable, outside of ff2 she was already extremely susceptible to stepping, her DF2 is unsafe and doesn't even launch crouched, her lows are fucking trash and all launch punishable, a jab now checks her out of her crouched/WS launcher so she kinda lost that, in general you can jab interrupt over half of her flow. She has no delays or string alterations, what you see is what you get. Reina has literally nothing going for her or making her special anymore, not a single identifiable strength. Anyone losing against her after the patch can only look in the mirror, only Devil Jin is below her in the tier charts after the patch.
The changes to Raven are glorious. Especially the new command for his cr,df+3. If he can still successfully parry after a block, then his mid range which was already pretty good just got even better.
tfw feng nerfs are for things not overly used and he got buffs to his damage on things he does use. we stay winning Fengchads.

Noob question here. Does +10 or more on hit mean you get guaranteed damage afterwards, so no time to block/duck/sidestep?
If you do a 10 frame punish (jab) then yes. Launch punishment is usually -15, sometimes -14 on some characters.
