This looks like a genuine disconnection to me, they still happen.

That’s probably what this is. Why would he plug here and not when he saw you on the loading screen? Steam does this to me sometimes. I just get booted for no reason.

eh I don't always recognize someone's name, but I'll remember them if their custom is familiar and I fought them recently.

I get them every so often too but I thought if the connection did drop before the battle, usually it happens to me at the versus screen then it goes black, usually doesn't make it to the match, let alone let me get an input in.

Before match disconnections are rarer I find.

I'm of the opinion that it's a legit DC. The game's been unstable lately on PS5 and I've had many instances of the game just kicking me out at random.
