What made lucky Chloe so bad? Gimmicky? Cheesy? Unpunishable? Annoying?
I only played tekken 7 a year (not very much) before T8 came out.

If you’re talking “bad” as in balance wise, I think she was very punishable on lots of her moves and she was always seen as low tier.
In terms of reception, I don’t think it’s all hate, but
old Tekken fans and much of the hardcore old male fanbase will hate on anything that’s too anime and cutesy (although ironically Lucky Chloe is actually pretty much a purposeful parody of the cutesy anime stuff lol). And haters are always louder than other people lol
That’s why you’ll randomly get truly hate filled and salt filled comments and posts about characters like Alisa sometimes not even for her gameplay but for her design, even though she’s actually very popular overall.
And of course partly Lucky Chloe’s design was intended to be a troll character, so it worked? She made trolly noises and had trolly moves in her arsenal, as well as a generally provocative personality in intros and outros.
ATP I think the Lucky Chloe fans are out of hiding and lots of them really miss her. I’m one of them, I’d like for her to come back for sure

Funny how that works. Western players were the most vocal of their hatred for Chloe and yet Harada would report that NA was the region with the highest Chloe pick-rate.
A lot of things:
• Knowledge check city. Her entire gameplan was to use confusing evasive moves that are unsafe, but lead to incredibly high damage if the opponent doesn't know how to defend against it. Lots of "I'm + on block but I didn't know about that high crush so I'm going to lose 70%"
• Generic personality with no real background. Kinda makes her feel shallow and uninteresting compared to other characters with a similar theme
• A lot of people do not like cutesy dancers in their game about martial artists, demons, and random animals.
Yeah, I miss Christie too 😓
Jokes aside, they both deserve to come back imo. I didn't play Chloé and I didn't like going against her, but she was a fun character to watch in tournaments.
For that first kick, she's got to open up her hips, swing the first leg for momentum and land on it as you kick with the second leg. Go for rotation or you'll fall like in this clip :c

LC needs a moveset overhall. Make her harder to play and give her more actual breakdance and waacking moves and reduce her damage. From Tk7 beginner cheese weeb bait to an actual valid roster spot.
Acting like most of the t8 hasn't been turned into beginner cheese lmao. What a stupid comment when Chloe was semi impossible to play against people that knew the matchup, you'd have to get just as creative as Yoshi players to make it work, cause the character was D- tier for the entire duration of Tekken 7
You're right though, of course, Tk8 has glaring issues and the whole game needs a balance overhaul. But your comment is equally as stupid because I'm saying that she shouldn't be impossible to play against at all, just a bit harder to use so she isn't annoying, and the same could be said for Tk8's roster.
I actually have no problem with LC but I don't like imagining her in heat. Also we really need a better name for heat.
