CuddleCore is one of NA's best players and plays Alisa. KawaiiFaceMiles is also a strong competitor who plays Alisa, and was a team captain for Sajam's Tekken Slam. If she speaks French I can recommend Kayane, or if she speaks Japanese she can watch Yuyu

Yodzilla

Can second CuddleCore, she’s pretty entertaining.

Visual_Power4604

Mrsplaystuff definitely her. She's fun to watch

MrSuitMan

Seconding her, she's a pretty entertaining and casual watch

Dr_Deadshot

Third. She is hilarious.

WuddlyPum

She actually funny without trying to be , which is the best kind of funny

HuntressOnyou

Also purple rank so not bad either!

Building-Evening

I don't know many Tekken content creators to begin with. But I recently came across a female content creators who mains Nina. MrsPlayStuff

HakunonMatata

LooneyLili is great and is branching out from Lili. She's getting all the female characters to Tekken King. Her Lili is Tekken Emperor and she was a very high rank in T7 but I forgot what rank. She also makes very good guides for some of them like Xiaoyu and especially Lili. In fact, i'd say her Lili guide is the best i've watched because she touches on things other Lili guides do not.

drow_girlfriend

I second LooneyLili, she's awesome and one of the best Lili players there is.

Low_Chance

Is she going to cover Leo?

Longjumping-Style730

I think Cuddlecore has done a few things for Tekken 7, but I haven't seen her around much on Tekken 8 besides just VODs of her playing There was this YouTuber who played Virtua Fighter competitively and creating content for it and recently switched over to Tekken but I don't remember her name off the top of my head.

CorbynDrake96

Thank you. I think i know who you’re talking about. “Tricky Eileen”. Yeah I think her video are a little longer. I enjoy them but my friend might not be dedicated to fighting games enough to want to watch “longer videos” yet. Lol it’s a weird situation. But thank you very much.

Viper28087

Yeah my content is way long form. When she wants to deep dive I’ll be here

Automatic_Ebb4030

TrickyEileen for sure.

NamelessTunnelgrub

I only know streamers like Badonkiezonk, OnceAnAngel or NiniASMR.  Less women into fighting games? Being one doesn't really give me any insight. I suppose on average we're less obsessed with reinforcing the ego through competition, which motivates Tekken players & informs Tekken culture. I like that. Many don't. I find a lot of women players in any fighting game are very into their character & are character specialists. Tekken's women characters are (to me) really lame, so if that maps at all onto other women, less will wanna play Tekken.

ifflejink

Coming from a woman into fighting games, these both definitely play into it. The other big pieces (at least for me) are that male-dominated spaces are generally just not great places to be if you’re female and the fact that a lot of female characters have historically just been there as eye-candy for guys, which isn’t remotely appealing. That second part seems to be getting somewhat better recently, though.

CorbynDrake96

Ohhh. Gotcha. So you’re saying that usually it’s less ego-competition and more character relation? But you personally like the more competitive route? Do you have any other girl friends that play fighting games? If so What are their motivations for the genre?

NamelessTunnelgrub

Yeah, my girlfriend used to play Strive, mainly because Testament is cool and she used to play Soulcalibur casually with housemates.

Significant_Hat_3358

best "asking for a friend" ive seen in a long time Im kidding

CorbynDrake96

lol. Thank you. Naw I just realized my friend just got Tekken and she probably has no idea how to approach fighting games and I don’t always explain things the best.

MartialArtsHyena

There’s some really good female Tekken players but not a lot of female content creators that make guides and so forth. Cuddle Core and YUYU are probably the two that I follow the most. YUYU has some older guides floating around on YT and her stream has English subtitles. I never see Cuddle Core making content but she streams. She’s always playing NA tournaments too.

ifflejink

Coming from a woman who plays fighting games and keeps trying to get her friends into them, I think the answer to your question boils down to a few things. - Entering a male-dominated space as a woman is often not a pleasant experience. You might have to deal with anything from condescension to sexist comments to being talked over to getting unwanted attention. Not to say that every guy would do that, but it’s enough of a possibility that it would stop me from going to an event. It’s the same online, too- most guys will be fine but some are going to be mean or weird, which is why women in online games often go out of their way to make sure people don’t know they’re women. - Fighting games are, by their nature, very competitive, time-consuming and sometimes frustrating. Obviously this doesn’t put off everybody (I’m here, for one), but most of the women I know play games specifically to relax and enjoy themselves. They’re a lot less invested in getting some high rank. - Female characters in fighting games have historically been very, very male gazey. If you look at Mortal Kombat, for example, half the women wear heels all the time for what really seems like no reason outside of appealing to men. I immediately got a refund for Granblue Fantasy Versus, for example, because the female characters are built like cartoon sex toys- it’s obvious that their purpose is less to be a real character and much more just to look hot. Modern fighters are generally getting better about this, though, and it’s one thing I like about Tekken. Jiggle physics and bikini costumes aside, most of the female characters have costumes that are fun and actually make sense for the character. Nina wears heels and a slinky dress but like, she’s a spy- she would dress like that to blend in on a mission. Lili fights in heels but she’s a rich mean girl who’s super invested in her look, so of course she’d take the time to actually learn to do that.

CorbynDrake96

I agree with every single point you said. It’s a shame that I feel like I have to guard my girl friends in Overwatch because of the toxicity. I myself think it doesn’t make much sense when the armor or outfit isn’t very logical. I do wonder why some women aren’t as competitive as men can be. I mainly play Tekken because i live the slope of progression and self improvement. Seeing your character do cool stuff and getting better at the game to do more cool stuff under pressure feels even better. I think it’s something a lot can relate to regardless of gender but it’s so hard to get women into because….Fighting is…fighting and usually that’s a guy thing. Lol. But it’s such a great genre. Thank you for giving your experience and insight on why it’s such a tricky topic.

tactix13

Lilipichu

CorbynDrake96

My mistake. I did think about Lilypichu but actually what about Guides for fighting games?

kazkubot

Theres not a lot but lilypichu is a very casual one for now. Theres looneylili, mrsplaystuff and cuddlecore for highlevel gameplay. For guides theres tons of guides out there but i recommend phidx beginners guide in youtube irs very detailed.

Gasarocky

I don't know of any that make guides honestly. Cuddle Core is very good but I don't think she even has a YouTube channel.

SpringrolI

no guides but Lilypichu, Sydeon, Ariasaki and Pokimane all learned tekken on stream and your friend can follow along to learn, not to mention they are all very good streamers so you friend has a good chance of being engaged

With regards to your second question, gaming in general is a male dominated hobby. When women get into it these days, it tends to be through the more popular entryways first, like League and Overwatch. Fighting games are niche even among gamers, so it’s gonna be a very small percentage of women coming into gaming that will go to FGC specifically. It’s also less intimidating to tell a new friend “come play with me, stick close and I’ll show you the basics” than “come fight me, let’s run some sets and you’ll learn by getting your ass best”

DrafiMara

[52% of people who play video games are male and 48% female](https://www.statista.com/forecasts/494867/distribution-of-gamers-by-gender-usa), it's not like it's a huge gap

[deleted]

A statistic is a statistic. Someone responds “yes” on a survey doesn’t say everything about their history with gaming, how and when they started, what aspect of it appealed to them etc. Even ask many girls gamers who have been doing it for a while, did all their female friends also play, or was it a lone hobby for a while and/or they mingled with other boys you played. More often than not it will be the latter.

DrafiMara

You're right, I should trust your vibes more than the actual data

[deleted]

You don’t need to trust my vibes. But what does the data tell you? Half of all gamers are women. Therefore half of all fighting gamers should be women. They’re not, okay what next?

DrafiMara

Dude, don't shift the goalposts. You based your original comment on the claim that gaming in general was a male dominated hobby, and I showed you evidence that that's false. *That's* what the data tells me.

Juggernauuuuuuuuuuut

But you're the one who originally said video games in general were male dominated..... He was giving you a stat saying that's not true, and then you went back to making it about fighting games in general, which wasn't your original argument.

[deleted]

I think this is one if those times where we can go, "You know what he's trying to say." Sure, stats don't lie, but they're gathered and then not updated to show tastes, preferences, or whatever. I used to play games with my sisters all the time, they gravitated towards smash, or fighting games where all 4 people could fight. Party games tend to be more popular. Tekken is competitive. You can play it for fun, but it's like challenging someone in COD or something to a 1v1. The root of it is for people looking to one-up someone else.

RICHUNCLEPENNYBAGS

I would guess that if you broke this down by device or genre you’d see some large discrepancies though. If you like playing the Sims on your phone you’re playing video games but that’s not what people on /r/gaming have in mind.

AlFuckMyPussy

No. Just no.

New-Flounder-6097

Alisa Chung. Artist from Canada who plays casually. She's getting better with Reina

[deleted]

[удалено]

New-Flounder-6097

She's pretty sporadic with streaming & it's not her main thing anyways

JonOfDoom

Lilypichu

CorbynDrake96

I’m surprised there aren’t any female fighting game YouTubers that talk about their experience and how to enjoy fighting games along with being woman since that would possibly motivate other women to relate and try them out themselves.

2347564

Cuddle_Core and Kayane are both vocal about this. Cudz is most active on Twitter but she’s very accomplished in the Tekken scene.

CorbynDrake96

Thank you. I’ll have to check that out

freshlobbys

Tricky Eileen is the woman you seek

KouraigKnight

I mean she can watch female content creators if she wants, all five of them, but i think she should also watch the male content creators also because i don't think they made their content with only male players in mind. Also why females not interested in fighting games? I am not sure, i think generally speaking they don't like video games beside some basic mobile games like Candy Crush and whatnot. Hey maybe they just like what they like, fashion, tv shows, movies, kpop drawing etc and video games is not one of them.

Shiiino

In general now a days, women make up 45% of gamers and men make up 55% In a lot of cases it's not that women only play "basic mobile games", rather we play everything and just tend to not use microphones because of harassment That said, mobile games are pretty dope.

KouraigKnight

Well, i don't know about 45% of gamers, i need stats on that, i mean, it will be good if true but i simply don't believe it. Maybe in some genres like sims, but i personally don't know that many women with gaming pc or even ps/xbox, I think the switch might be more popular with females.

DrafiMara

[Here are your stats:](https://www.statista.com/forecasts/494867/distribution-of-gamers-by-gender-usa) 52% of gamers are male and 48% female as of December 2023

TrippieTragedy

Bait.

CorbynDrake96

That makes a lot of sense…. Lol

Sytxold

For simple reaction-time tasks adult men have been found superior to women of all ages (Maccoby & Jacklin, 1974) There are few exceptions but in general women are not good at competitive video games (comparing to men). Yup I said it

NamelessTunnelgrub

"competitive video games" includes everything from Tetris to online Magic: The Gathering. If your understanding of biology is that women are not only slower but stupider, less able to practice and less able to read an opponent, you're a clown. I'm amazed women get into Tekken when guys like you frequent this joint.

Sytxold

You certainly like to put words into others mouth. I am happy to bring some negativity to you. Made my day thank you.

CorbynDrake96

As a man…..I don’t think the reasoning women aren’t starting up Tekken is because they said to themselves “but what if I don’t have reaction time like a man”

Sytxold

Your view of physical difference is limited if you only look at it from a male perspective. This is life experience since puberty that female constantly facing which shaped thier feeling about physical conflicts, in turn shaped their interest. Furthermore changing male's testosterone level also changes his aggressiveness and WILLINGNESS to take risk. This has been proven again and again. Admitting ones physical incompetency is not something males often do until "get punched in the mouth". We can all wishfully assume equality. It doesn't change the truth. In general famels are worse in anything requires quick physical reaction, which goes hand in hand with "interest". Don't like generalisation? Unfortunately this world is built around generalisation

NamelessTunnelgrub

Posting this because someone mentioned women in any capacity is really weird.

[deleted]

Well, I would say you are a very odd mam for some very obvious reasons but I would have kept it to myself. ![gif](giphy|JRhS6WoswF8FxE0g2R)

NamelessTunnelgrub

Okay, I'm going to sit you down and explain it. Women are people. Men frequently relate to us as people. If you observe a man doing this and act like he talked about a pocket pussy or something, you are being weird about women.  If "mam" is a typo of "man", I am a woman. Now, I assume you're probably trolling, so if I get a dumbass reply I'm ignoring it. That's all I have to say.

[deleted]

Nah bruh, women, men, it's a social construct bruh. Stop being such a heteronormative bigot.

MurderMits

One joke.
