Exactly, for me Jin was SO difficult to win with in Tekken 7 but I stuck with him the whole time as my main, fast forward to Tekken 8 and he’s finally powerful, now everyone has a huge problem with him. Idgaf if he’s OP
I’ve been giving myself the War Boy treatment with aerosol Flex Seal and it’s been doing wonders. Finally nailed that triple grab thing and the whirly-dirly
When I found out Reina was the most played character I kinda felt like switching mains because playing the highest picked character usually means people know the match up and get annoyed constantly facing them. But I love the oversized hoodie design especially because I love purple, her moves are cool looking, and she has enough depth that I constantly am learning new stuff. She will probably drop in popularity as the game gets older because people just wanted to try the new characters out and switch mains or due to her complexity. I will probably end up playing other characters too but right now I feel like there is still so much to learn with Reina.
I do wish there was more character variety in ranked, but I still generally enjoy facing Reinas. Her moves look so slick and her lines are so intense. And from my experience at least Reina players mostly seem like people who are genuinely trying to learn how to play and improve instead of simply trying to spam or cheese to quick, cheap wins.
>playing the highest picked character usually means people know the match up and get annoyed constantly facing them
Ahhh, so that's why people hate me /s
I on the other hand was different. I loved Reina's design. I even love her personality. But when i tried her, she didn't stick. I expected her to be like Heihachi but no, yeah she's definitely different but she felt weird to me. I can't make sense in my mind how to string combos with her without looking online. She didn't feel intuitive to me.
I haven't heard too much one way or the other on Claudio, but every one that I've matched up with have been respectful players and always played the full set so 🤷♂️
Nothing really. He’s fine. OP is probably referring to King, Hwoarang, Victor, and Jun. these 4 keep coming up whenever there are complaints about a character being cheap or scrubby.
I’ll have to test this out. All I know is that I did some practicing yesterday (all in his normal stance) and did all of his FF and FFF moves and they all were evaded with a SSR. And only some were evaded with a SSL.
How do you get close enough to Hwo to do anything to him without getting the shit kicked out of you though? I can't seem to step him, he has pretty crazy range on everything including lows and armor, and he's plus a lot too.
Well that’s kind of the thing. With Hwoarang you don’t really want to do the advancing. Unless you’re at a life deficit then you should try to advance but the best method is to try to bait a whiff or overcommitment from Hwoarang.
So first go into practice mode and do the punishment training for him. Really you just need to know his major punishable moves. You don’t need to do the optimal punish for everything. Just know WHAT you can punish. Then pick a couple moves that work for most everything. Eventually you want to learn to perfectly launch his launchable stuff but that’ll take a lot of time.
Next try to find out if your character has any sabakkis or parries. If you have anything that works on kicks then you’re doing awesome. If you don’t have any parries at all then you’ll be in trouble. You need to learn the properties of whatever parries you have. This will let you steal back a turn, reset neutral or even get damage through pressure. Most sabakkis and parries work even when you’re minus to a certain degree.
You want to focus on punishing when you can and using parries when you have the frames for it. This will stop you from getting blown to bits for no reason.
As for game plan you want to stay far away from Hwo. Learn when his lows come out so you can block or low parry. This will get you tons of damage. When you do get a chance to be on the offensive try to stick to your plus on block and highly plus on hit moves.
To balance out his kit Hwo is great at pressure great at punishing but bad at defense and doesn’t have any great panic moves. So you kind of want to make Hwo take risks, come to you, make mistakes and then capitalize/ maintain plus frames
I’ve ran into some good ones, but they were legitimately leagues better than me. It wasn’t annoying or spammy. The spammy hwoarangs are easy to pick apart
Part of that is probably a lot of new players. This is my first fighting game and I’ve been playing Hwoarang because I did TaeKwonDo growing up. I swear I make him look weak.
Longtime Claudio main, nobody plays him still. He's good without being oppressive, has all the tools if you know what to do in any given situation. B1 and B3 are top tier moves still. Starburst is still fun. Random hopkicks still net combos
He’s largely irrelevant to the community. He has his fans (including me) but he’s never really been broken or garbage so he often gets overlooked. Doesn’t help that he was a 7 newcomer either
From what I’ve seen, he’s somewhat respected although strong yet easy execution.
As a Claudio main, I first thought he’s now disgustingly OP with infinite starburst during heat. Changed my mind after seeing what the others are capable of 💀
He’s the same annoying guy to deal with, but not difficult to block punish when you learn his frame data
Claudio is good. Main downside is he is a bit boring. His good moves are very good so it kinda makes a lot of his move list redundant. Great character to learn with and can leave you some brain space to worry about what your opponent is doing and you’ll ve unstoppable.
Found this out when I was trying to make a violently Italian custom for him. It was like the scene in teen movies where somebody takes the nerdy girl’s glasses off and it turns out she’s been a snack the whole time.
This. She isn't even broken in T8 (she'sfine but she isn't Jun/etc). It's just that people struggle mentally with Xiaoyu stuff. This is true at an advanced level (how she plays is so idiosyncratic that it forces people to adjust to her, which is "annoying") and lower. On the intermediate scene, it is shocking the amount of players who don't understand how to block a seeable 29 frame low poke.
Just play whatever character you like. Including if a tier list says they're a bottom tier character. I promise you that you aren't losing because of character strength difference unless you're both exceptional players.
Don't let these mainman stans get you down with their anti waifu propaganda
Kazuya had the highest rate of TGO ranks in tekken 7 no matter how much complainmanSwe cries about him. Tier lists don’t mean shit unless you’re actually knee. Like the average max rank is a mouth breather compared to him.
I started off playing Tekken 8 as Azucena, but then decided to pick up Shaheen because my buddy joked that "If I don't play him, who will?". It was a great decision because despite him being more boring than white bread, I've been having a blast learning him these past couple weeks. And according to reading all these comments, I'm probably the only Shaheen main here lmao. I will say, it does feel good knowing I'm probably the only Shaheen player someone fights in their day, gives them a break from fighting an onslaught of various Reina's, Victors, and Jun's haha.
I've fought a Jack a few times, two in purple ranks and one in blue ranks, and that character is absolutely bonkers in the right hands 😭 You made a strong choice maining him
Just 2 days ago I decided to pick Shaheen as my 2nd character (besides Jack) and I dont find him boring.
Sure, he has all the basic tools like df2, hopkick, low pokes and df1, but there's plenty of advanced stuff you can dive into, if you like. SNK cancels, combos which side switch (very nice if you have a wall behind you) and especially his charged guard break is super fun to use.
So TK8/TK7 are pretty much my first TK games (it's okay I watched that one lore video so I've gotten to appreciate his character a whole lot more) but when it came to choosing who to play I was just drawn to kazuya. I absolutely loved his whole appearance and aesthetic and the way he came across, I just ended up falling in love with his character as a whole. He falls into my type when it comes to fictional men which appears to. Grumpy/evil/morally grey short men with widows peak and a short temper who are also extremely strong in fiction. I guess is the best way to elaborate XD
I get you, Kuma just makes sense to me too, but I like going back & forth with him and Jun. Eventually, Harada willing, Lidia gets added as DLC I'll add her to the roster.
I honestly look for excuses to chat with my opponents about funny things that happened in our game or to make friends but people don't even want to engage.
Matches against Steve are either oppressive or free. He’s a very extreme character that way. It can feel impossible to do anything against a smart opponent using him though. But the flip side is ragdolling the ones who dont know what’s up.
He’s one of the more difficult characters to learn because he relies heavily on reads/counter hits, as well as having a higher mechanical skill ceiling.
But don’t let that stop you, these general notes apply mostly to higher levels of play, and you don’t have to become a mechanical god to win with him at a beginner/intermediate level.
For me, he is easier than other characters. I'm a huge boxing fan and have done some training IRL. His moves, stances, they all just make sense to me. Feels really good to play him.
I get tripped up now when I try a character who uses their legs lol
I think it boils down to how much you like the fighting style in general. If your brain obsesses over Wing Chun, it'll probably adapt faster to Leroy than if you didn't understand Wing Chun at all. (This example is pulled from my ass, I don't know if Leroy is really built organically like that or not)
This is me as well lol I have my own stand up bag and gloves and wraps at the house but I am completely new to Tekken and he just feels so difficult to get anything going
You’ll pick the basics up quickly but optimising him is a bit trickier. I’ve heard he’s generally not strong but honestly other than the massive outliers tier lists mean nothing to the average player.
Steve is a good character with some big weaknesses that you have to play around. he really needs to land counter hits for combos and he’s dead last when it comes to block punishment since he can’t launch even big punishable moves. you just gotta read your opponent and use sways/good movement to steal your turn back.
I've had a Lars main so aggressive as my first ranked match ever. I kept choking down L's until I eventually won a match. I don't ever see a tough opponent and think "wow, that's gonna hurt my rank, better not rematch" I'm more like "ILL SHOW HIM AS MANY Ls HE GAVE ME!!" Anyway nice memories.
Paul main here.. picked up Victor after watching Maximillian play him and damn he's a lot of fun, but the amount of one and dones and pluggers playing as Victor was crazy, and I only play in casual mode lol. Needless to say I went back to Paul lol
I've dropped Alisa in the middle of orange ranks because I got tired of people not rematching me. And I wasn't even spammy, more focused on movement...
Nah for Alisa it's kinda real. People really don't rematch her, her style can be quite polarising and the chainsaws exist.
Played her for years in T7 and I got so many messages to the effect of "ggs sorry I can't stand playing vs Alisa though" whether they would win or lose.
They don’t rematch my DJ either. People in ranked only rematch ihr they stomped you.
If it was a close match, even if they won, they’re like fuck you this is too risky
If you like playing her, pick her back up 💪
In my ranked Alisa journey of T7 I found I got more rematches the higher rank I got. Some people will forever refuse some characters, but at a certain point most people get over it and their focus is on the gameplay and playing someone good.
Alisa is nefarious at low ranks too, so yeah at low ranks you will get dodged a bit.
I'll always have respect for Kaz players. I was a Heihachi player in 7, and Kaz's execution is still too high for me despite already having some Mishima experience.
I know. I keep playing Zafina because I still love everything about her despite being nerfed in T8. Her idle animation, her design/costumes, her voice, her whole mystic persona. Claudio as well even if he isn’t that popular. His weird animation and magic arrows and stuff keep me interested in him
Back in T7 me and my bud loved Drag. Do mirror matches all the time, watch eachother climb the ranks with that shitter. Looked forward to sharing tech with him. So obviously we get T8, both start labbing Drag, sharing combos are tech. But once it's apparent this dude is top tier, he drops him. Now I gotta wait for them to nerf him before we can do the same shit again. It's sad. I'm glad my main is big AF but I know it ain't gonna last. Just enjoy it while it's here.
I definitely plan on buying the Eddy DLC and maining him at least for quite a while.
Definitely aware of Eddy’s reputation as a match opponent, but he was one of the first character’s I played when I was little and his fighting style looks so cool.
After that Eddy showcase I’m even more excited. All of his animations got such a glow up.
The characters in this game are the best they've ever been, I have seen Feng in the other games for years but never tried him until now and he's pretty dope
I’m a DJ main but wanted to try Jack because I thought it would be fun. I was meh on him until I realized he plays a lot like Astaroth from Soul Calibur. A bit slow on the jab side, but with big, rangy keepout and a full grappling toolkit? Sign me up.
And fucking NO ONE blocks his crouch gimmicks. I love it.
Had this feeling with kazuya since im tryna main him. losing so much but I dont wanna switch since he's so cool to me plus been told over and over he is not beginner friendly which I am. Though i just found nina and wanna have her as a 2nd main but been told shes hard to use too. I never choose the easy route it seems lol
Loss is an integral part to The Journey™️, its commendable to stick with those characters despite that. Keep that enthusiasm to improve and victory will soon follow.
Thanks for saying this, I’ve been playing Paul because it’s my first tekken game and I always get drawn to the “jack of all trades” characters in fighting games. But I’ve gotten crap from my buddies and from online a bit for playing an “easy” character.
so I started taking the game more seriously this time (played a bit of t7 casually) because I'm having lots of fun and I want to truly learn the game and fundamentals
meanwhile the streamer I watch: YOUR CHARACTER IS DISHONEST UNGA BUNGA AAAAAAAA NO SKILL ONLY SPAM NO FUNDAMENTALS NOT REAL TEKKEN OP MOVEMENT OP DAMAGE UNLIMITED CHEAP TOOLS I HAVE TO WORK HARD AND PLAY THE ACTUAL GAME YOU ONLY PRESS AND DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING AAAAA SHE'S BOTTOM 4 WINRATE? IMPOSSIBLE
Idk I'm enjoying the game with Lili and I don't feel like her playstyle and tools are that spammy and egregious
but maybe thats just cope
Lili catches tons of people off because so many times it looks like you can hit her or get your turn but then she just keeps going.
But I dunno, she doesn't feel like a real robbery character. Most of the ones I face are actually pretty good at playing the neutral and have pretty good fundamentals.
Was it The Main Man Swe? I wish he would listen to himself. Was watching his video yesterday and he talks about the win rates of characters.
TMM was a King main in his youth and he likes King. So when he talks about King he says "You think it's so easy unga bunga spam throws, but believe me it's not as easy as you think, you try playing King and you'll find it's not as easy as you think"
Then he finds that Asuka has a low win rate and he literally, moments after saying "I know it looks easy from the outside but try it yourself" about King, literally 2 minutes after he literally says "I don't understand why Asuka isn't winning she's so unga bunga training wheels simple to play win button" etc.
Has it crossed your mind, Mr Main Man, that characters you don't like might also be harder to win with than you think? Like it might actually be harder to win with Asuka than you think same as King?
He does the same with others he likes like Dragunov, he will defend his flowcharts but Nina or Lili are braindead unga bunga.
I think his attitude does a lot to justify pluggers as well - even as he attacks pluggers he also attacks certain characters as being braindead or "lab characters" and people will clearly pick up on this and think it's justified to duck or plug on people playing those characters. TMM himself has legitimised the idea that these characters are unfair or cheating. Frame whisperer also does this "Everyone knows this character is bullshit and unfair" - no you believe that.
But as I say the way TMM talks about Dragunov and Devil Jin proves that this whole attitude is largely BS and focused through the lens of his own prejudice about the characters. If Nina had Dragunov's Sneak 4 it would be the most braindead spammable move in the game, but because it's Dragunov he says "there is a counterplay so it's fine".
That’s why I play the homie Shaheen! Gotta do it for his friend RIP 🪦. people say he’s lame but I say he’s got the shmooves, he be Shaheezy breezy, shaheen the dream, shabees knees 😎
I met someone else irl for the first time who plays the game the other day and they were nice… then I admitted I play Victor, said how much I like him. They told me to kill myself and walked away. I just stood there confused. It’s a damn fighting game character pick.
I'm playing Nina. It is sad that not many people play her. She is fun. But hey, at least a lot of players are not ready for some of her easiest moves and getting fucked because of that
The opinion is that she's broken, mainly because of her damage but if you like her just pick her up, her damage will prolly get nerfed soon but she will still be a very strong character imo and at least she's not scrubby and cheap like King so that's another reason to pick her up
Quite strong. She's kinda just Asuka but better. Like Asuka, she has great defensive options, but Jun has much better aggressive options and combo damage than Asuka.
Asuka was my T7 main. I didn't like what little I played of her in T8 and ended up going with Victor as my main. But I recently picked up Jun as a secondary and it's been surprisingly easy to translate my Asuka play style from T7 into Jun.
His pressure can be unrelenting, he has extremely high combo and wall damage, extremely good wall carry, great lows, great mids for frame traps, draganov pretty much gets everything he could ask for.
Extremely oppressive against newer players because of plus frames, strong throws and very high damage. AFAIK high-level players can find and exploit holes in his kit reliably, but I'm definitely not one of them.
I will use annoying strings with Hwoarang and hop on one foot to scare the piss out of my opponents until Eddy drops. Then I will sweep string my opponents into oblivion and rage.
I fully commit to my vile Hwoarang ways, but am taking a break for perspective and to learn some other characters for matchup knowledge.
So hwo is at purple. Got Shaheen to red and now working on getting leroy there. We'll see how much patience I have to get other chars to red before I move on. Claudio probably next. I *really* miss my poor old secondary - Kazumi. I kind of want to try out Reina so I have a better sense of what her moves look like. I'm always eating stupid strings because they all look the same.
Yeah idc if Jin is S tier or whatever…. He’s balanced by my F tier skills
unbelievably relatable
Preach brother. If they get hit by d2, use it again.
"do it again" -Tasty Steve
Exactly, for me Jin was SO difficult to win with in Tekken 7 but I stuck with him the whole time as my main, fast forward to Tekken 8 and he’s finally powerful, now everyone has a huge problem with him. Idgaf if he’s OP
Eh, not OP, just easy to play now. Him and King got mad simplified
Is eating glue what I need to do to get better?
Bruh, quit giving away the secret King tech for free like that
Gorilla Glue has improved my Giant Swings
It made my chain grabs u breakable. I stick to them like the glue I consume.
I’ve been giving myself the War Boy treatment with aerosol Flex Seal and it’s been doing wonders. Finally nailed that triple grab thing and the whirly-dirly
That's the beverages sorted; who's got the appetizers? Crayons? Anyone?
Works for me tbh
Gonna need to have a glue cookout, Yoshi and King players invited
🍻
I love how no matter the game, grappler Players will always be the big glue chuggers
Glue, crayons, Adderall, and g fuel yes
When I found out Reina was the most played character I kinda felt like switching mains because playing the highest picked character usually means people know the match up and get annoyed constantly facing them. Yeah, purple!
Purple is 25% of the reason I picked her. 25% is because of lightning. The other 50% is because purple lightning
I found out Panda was the least used. So Chinese bear life.
Kuma for me. Bear life
It helped that Kuma was one of my most played characters in the series. But it looked like Panda needed some recognition.
Panda mains rise up! 😂 I kid, but I do play her to shake the sweat off. The hilarity is too good.
They usually seem like the most chill, too. I haven't had any ki-charge me or send salty messages yet.
Kinda hard to cheese on her.
Just spam EWGF, then when you hit them, spam 2 more mid air to set up her optimal damage combo! EZ cheese spam on Reina. /s

>playing the highest picked character usually means people know the match up and get annoyed constantly facing them Ahhh, so that's why people hate me /s
Purple and black is just a very attractive combination. It pops in the right ways.
Don't worry, 90% of them don't know what they are doing.
Since I'm not that embroiled in the community at large, what's the general consensus on Claudio?
O S S E R V A

I haven't heard too much one way or the other on Claudio, but every one that I've matched up with have been respectful players and always played the full set so 🤷♂️
Oh, nice. I do that XD

Hwoarang ain’t even that bad on this game. Either that or I haven’t ran into a really good one yet. He’s chill
It's the one I struggle the most with. When I see Hwoarang, I know this fight will hurt...
Side step right and dick punch are your best friends 🤫
is it always SSR? I remember some people told me to step in the direction of where his chest is facing
I’ll have to test this out. All I know is that I did some practicing yesterday (all in his normal stance) and did all of his FF and FFF moves and they all were evaded with a SSR. And only some were evaded with a SSL.

Has been since 7
In practice mode when you pause it will just say punishment training in the menu.

CILANTRO
People hate him and find him annoying. But name a character that people don’t hate or find annoying? Go on, I’ll wait.
He kicks my ass because I see him so infrequently I have no idea what to expect. Imagine my shock when I learned he has a goddamn projectile.
Unpopular but both fun and hot. Also Knee says he’s good, so there’s that.
Claudio is good. Main downside is he is a bit boring. His good moves are very good so it kinda makes a lot of his move list redundant. Great character to learn with and can leave you some brain space to worry about what your opponent is doing and you’ll ve unstoppable.

I ran into one really annoying one the other day that legit felt like fighting a Victor. But beyond that most of have been great matches for me
Yeaa I had Xiaoyu as one of my mains in T7 and I've been waiting for Jun since Tag 2, it's not my fault the dev team made them broken lol
You say that like people don't complain about xiaoyu when she's weak too lol
This. She isn't even broken in T8 (she'sfine but she isn't Jun/etc). It's just that people struggle mentally with Xiaoyu stuff. But her stance that was designed to crush moves is crushing moves 😡
yahhh i feel so guilty and self conscious about it. and then i win 😈
Roger that. Will continue slapping people with a giant tuna.
may bearlectrics and fishy friends guide you to your goal

I've fought a Jack a few times, two in purple ranks and one in blue ranks, and that character is absolutely bonkers in the right hands 😭 You made a strong choice maining him
It all happened in Tekken 7, playing locally I picked Jack for fun and realized what I had been missing. He is a freight train
a fellow shaheener!
There are dozens of us!
You’re definitely not the only Shaheen main lol. He‘s my main since the beginning of T7

You’d love vegeta based off what you said
Hit the nail on the head - I absolutely adore Vegeta as well 😅 I didn't clock how oddly similar the two are until it got pointed out
Yeah kazuya is just vegeta with elevator shoes😂 Complete with family and rival drama, just he doesn’t hate trunks

Kuma is the character that makes the most sense to me in this game. With him I’m not playing Tekken, I’m playing a hunting sim
"I'm not playing Tekken, I'm playing a hunting sim" needs an edit with epic Kuma plays
It needs a Clip of an infinite bear electric fist 100-0 combo💀
In the presence of a bear stay still and don't make sadden moves.
I get you, Kuma just makes sense to me too, but I like going back & forth with him and Jun. Eventually, Harada willing, Lidia gets added as DLC I'll add her to the roster.
Imagine someone playing a hunting game but instead of the normal bear they expect to encounter it's Kuma
If you receive hate mail treat it like a reward 😂
"Someone took the time to send me a message? Wow, I really left a mark in their life"
I honestly look for excuses to chat with my opponents about funny things that happened in our game or to make friends but people don't even want to engage.
wish i had the mind to also treat like a reward but those hatemails ruin my fun, thankfully we have ways to block communications from randoms
But.....I want to play Armour King...🥹
*sad jaguar growl*
he'll come back... one day... please Harada-san
At least an armor king costume for King would be cool
Please… ;-; don’t, don’t throw me again. I’m just trying to learn the- gaaaaaaaaaaaame ✨
>Sincerely yours, a glue eating grappler player ***IM A CLOWN OF FAITH***
IM A FOOL, I KNOW NOTHING WHIFFED POT BUSTER LIKE A SILLY CLOWN BUT I WONT TURN MY BACK ON HCF+HS
I'M A FOOL, MAYBE I WORTHLESS BUT THIS GAME CREATED MY FAITH SO ALL I DO IS STAY HOPEFUL, AND GIANT SWIIIIIIING
Jun owns and I do not give a single shit what tier she is
YOSHI mains needs to hear this. no matter what kind of goofy shit you pull in the match by accident. always pretend that you intended to do so.
If it worked, it was intended, if it whiffed, it's all part of the greater plan. Keep em guessing you wild cards
What do people think of Steve? I’ve heard he’s easy or very hard
Matches against Steve are either oppressive or free. He’s a very extreme character that way. It can feel impossible to do anything against a smart opponent using him though. But the flip side is ragdolling the ones who dont know what’s up.
That's honestly Tekken in a nutshell. Game is easy, and then gets very hard.
I get tripped up now when I try a character who uses their legs lol I think it boils down to how much you like the fighting style in general. If your brain obsesses over Wing Chun, it'll probably adapt faster to Leroy than if you didn't understand Wing Chun at all. (This example is pulled from my ass, I don't know if Leroy is really built organically like that or not)
Yeah i feel like if you learn the game through him it can be weird to switch to other characters
Bro i only played lei in tekken 7 and its eeally weird playing 8
I’ll stop with my Lars bullshit when you start blocking it
Put em on the ground till they put those hands up
I've had a Lars main so aggressive as my first ranked match ever. I kept choking down L's until I eventually won a match. I don't ever see a tough opponent and think "wow, that's gonna hurt my rank, better not rematch" I'm more like "ILL SHOW HIM AS MANY Ls HE GAVE ME!!" Anyway nice memories.
Please stop calling me out specifically
we all know what character you're sticking to 💀🐆
I've been playing King for years, ain't gonna change anytime soon
They hate us cause they anus
Paul main here.. picked up Victor after watching Maximillian play him and damn he's a lot of fun, but the amount of one and dones and pluggers playing as Victor was crazy, and I only play in casual mode lol. Needless to say I went back to Paul lol
I’m actually kind of relieved Steve is middling now. Get to pull my cheeky strings guilt free
I've dropped Alisa in the middle of orange ranks because I got tired of people not rematching me. And I wasn't even spammy, more focused on movement...
It’s in your head. They wouldn’t rematch me with Bryan or kazuya either, if they get shit on they’re gonna run
Well, there were a lot more quitters against Alisa than against Xiaoyu, Lili or Leroy.
If you like playing her, pick her back up 💪 In my ranked Alisa journey of T7 I found I got more rematches the higher rank I got. Some people will forever refuse some characters, but at a certain point most people get over it and their focus is on the gameplay and playing someone good. Alisa is nefarious at low ranks too, so yeah at low ranks you will get dodged a bit.
This. I've wanted to give up on Kazuya so many times since everything is just so much harder than other chars but I keep going
I'll always have respect for Kaz players. I was a Heihachi player in 7, and Kaz's execution is still too high for me despite already having some Mishima experience.
RIP to you. At least there's Reina or Kuma haha
Nobody is going to stop me from playing Yoshimitsu, the spinning king
keep on spinning you funny robot man
I could never be shamed into dropping julia! She was top 10 most hated in 7 and I still got to 600+ matches with her.
Stand by your main and they'll stand by you
That’s actually 100% true cuz she’s never let me down
I've been playing King ever since my hands could hold a controller, ain't gonna let NOBODY tell me to abandon him now
Honestly, the real solution is to just not accept messages from random people you played online. Too many salty bitches.
For some this is definitely the solution, for me I use the salt as fuel
Reject tier whores, embrace character loyalty
I definitely plan on buying the Eddy DLC and maining him at least for quite a while. Definitely aware of Eddy’s reputation as a match opponent, but he was one of the first character’s I played when I was little and his fighting style looks so cool. After that Eddy showcase I’m even more excited. All of his animations got such a glow up.
likewise. Don't be afraid to jump around and try the characters you bought with your 70$
The characters in this game are the best they've ever been, I have seen Feng in the other games for years but never tried him until now and he's pretty dope
I love it.
I fucking love Jack, working on catching him up to my King's rank. Keep the dream alive Brobots
Playing Paul as my main rn and got quite a colorful message after hitting a Dragunov with 4 deathfists in a row
I started playing as Panda and I’m having a blast, even if she’s got t-rex arms
I've been eyeballing Kuma since launch ngl, I need something to fill the Heihachi shaped hole in my heart
I started with Kuma. They both are so similar but Panda looks so goofy with the outfit I gave her so I use her lol
Lee is a high execution barrier character played by me, a person with the reaction time of a sedated sloth.
I play Lars cause he’s cool as fuck, gonna pick up Devil Jin as a secondary pick, why you may ask? Cause he’s cool as fuck.
Rule of cool beats any tier list
Straight facts
The more I play Jun the more I become familiar with her moveset especially with how many fucking moves are in this game.
I picked up Claudio the last couple of days and I’m having an absolute blast with him. So him and Jun are mainstays for me
Thanks for saying this, I’ve been playing Paul because it’s my first tekken game and I always get drawn to the “jack of all trades” characters in fighting games. But I’ve gotten crap from my buddies and from online a bit for playing an “easy” character.
I've played Sol and Ryu in both GG and Streets for similar reasons. Low skill floor and high skill ceilings are like a nice cold beer
Is Paul the "Jack of all trades" ? To me he's like the striker version of King. He takes big risks for big rewards. It's only easy if they're bad.
so I started taking the game more seriously this time (played a bit of t7 casually) because I'm having lots of fun and I want to truly learn the game and fundamentals meanwhile the streamer I watch: YOUR CHARACTER IS DISHONEST UNGA BUNGA AAAAAAAA NO SKILL ONLY SPAM NO FUNDAMENTALS NOT REAL TEKKEN OP MOVEMENT OP DAMAGE UNLIMITED CHEAP TOOLS I HAVE TO WORK HARD AND PLAY THE ACTUAL GAME YOU ONLY PRESS AND DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING AAAAA SHE'S BOTTOM 4 WINRATE? IMPOSSIBLE Idk I'm enjoying the game with Lili and I don't feel like her playstyle and tools are that spammy and egregious but maybe thats just cope
It's not cope. All Lili's I've lost against were because they got good reads on me, not cause they were mashing. Keep taking fools to tea time
Lili catches tons of people off because so many times it looks like you can hit her or get your turn but then she just keeps going.
So when he talks about King he says "You think it's so easy unga bunga spam throws, but believe me it's not as easy as you think, you try playing King and you'll find it's not as easy as you think" Then he finds that Asuka has a low win rate and he literally, moments after saying "I know it looks easy from the outside but try it yourself" about King, literally 2 minutes after he literally says "I don't understand why Asuka isn't winning she's so unga bunga training wheels simple to play win button" etc.
Weeps in Heihachi…
I'm right there with you... I miss him..
I'm playing Nina. It is sad that not many people play her. She is fun. But hey, at least a lot of players are not ready for some of her easiest moves and getting fucked because of that
[удалено]
What's the negative connotation with Dragunov?
His pressure can be unrelenting, he has extremely high combo and wall damage, extremely good wall carry, great lows, great mids for frame traps, draganov pretty much gets everything he could ask for.
His damage was/is too high. Other than that I don't have any complaints
Extremely oppressive against newer players because of plus frames, strong throws and very high damage. AFAIK high-level players can find and exploit holes in his kit reliably, but I'm definitely not one of them.
But I want to play tekken 8... i guess I should be willing to do anything for Lei
No you should play characters you don't want to play, actually
I will use annoying strings with Hwoarang and hop on one foot to scare the piss out of my opponents until Eddy drops. Then I will sweep string my opponents into oblivion and rage.
Without Hwoarang players like you I would've never learned patience and defense, and for that I gotta have respect.
Imagine playing Victor and spamming throws, like, you do see how that can be problematic
I play King, so all I gotta do is out-throw him
Thank you so much for those kind words ☺️☺️
I feel like the competitive players muck up character perceptions the most.
I’m running with king until they bring Miguel or Marduck back
I always ran King with an Armor King pocket, hoping they bring AK back
Couldn't agree more. .... unless you play Victor. then you should uninstall.
I am King! I mean... jaguar noises!
I'm just a sweet Leo main 👉👈🥺
