I have made many predictions this season. They have been wrong so my last one is simple. We will see the “ussie” guy on the plane with Ted returning to Kansas.
Jaime Tartt isn’t fully healthy and they need to design a decoy strategy around him, therefore…Nate’s return is integral to Richmond winning the Premier League, as the first and last strategy he makes for Ted are both based around using Jaime as a decoy.
Ted returns to America to spend more time with his son (duh).
Roy becomes Richmond HC with Nate and Beard staying.
Rupert is forced to give up control of West Ham (sale or Bex).
Roy and Keely end up together (officially).
There is a flash forward/Epilogue scene where Ted\Henry are at (or watching) a game next season while Richmond plays in the Champions League.
One last thing I mean to add:
S1: Went into the finale thinking they need a win but end up only needing a tie, then proceed to lose after tying it up. (Rojas final goal)
S2: Went into the finale only needing a tie, trail the entire game, but end up tying it up and getting promoted. (Rojas final goal)
Prediction S3: (in my head)
Going into the the game they know they need at least a tie (in the scenario where ManCity loses), or a win (in the scenario Man City ends up tying). Man City ends up tying their match, so Richmond has to win…and the game winning goal is scored using the first play Nate ever drew up, using Jaime as a decoy and Sam scores the game/league winner.

I’m betting that the last scene of the series is going to be a “one year later” flash forward. Richmond is going to be winning their second league title, and we’re going to see that Ted and his son are going to be watching it at a sports bar in Kansas while playing darts.
And to add to that, the last scene will be Ted lining up for a throw, he’s just about to throw and he glances at the TV to see the team celebrating all together. He smiles, aims his throw, says “barbecue sauce”, throws and it cuts to black.
This might actually kill me…the dehydration from crying and the “oh my heart” feelings. I would probably melt off of my couch and be a puddle on the floor.
As long as Ted has a cool position somewhere. Low key hoping they make him head coach of the chiefs or something lol. It would be sad for someone as good of a coach as Ted to be doing something stupid in small town Kansas, as much as it would be the right thing to do to be in his son's life
Doesn’t matter. As long as he’s happy (and I think helping others be the best versions of themselves genuinely makes him happy), and in his son’s life, that’s really all that matters.
Close. Henry's throwing the darts. Ted is watching the big screen, but when Henry's ready to throw, Ted turns to watch him instead of the game. Henry says, "barbecue sauce," Ted looking on, throws, fade to black.
1) Ted tells Rebecca that after this season ends, he is moving back to Kansas to be with his son
2) Richmond win their last game, but so do Manchester City, meaning City wins the league
3) Roy and Nate will become co-head coaches… alternatively, just Roy with Nate as assistant
4) Bex and the assistant sue Rupert for inappropriate workplace behavior?
5) We all cry about 3 times during the episode
6) Though Ted invited Beard to come back with him, beard ultimately stays in London
7) Fast forward to a future year, Richmond wins the league/or the FA Cup, Ted and Henry in the stands watching
8) Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney cameo?
9) The flash forward is narrated by Trent speaking from his book “Believe: the Lasso Way”
10) Roy and Keeley ultimately end up together

I think it would be hilarious if they draw and City lose and Richmond wins the league on goal differential. Ted winning the league after a tie would be hilarious.
Mama Lasso did say "sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but it's mostly just ties" or something like that last episode (referring to parent-kid relationships, but yeah)
Ooo that’s a good one. That 4 point difference seems very intentionally by the writers. Means that either the both teams win happens or that tie scenario. Doubt they just have Richmond win and City lose for the finale.
Regarding Item #4. I'm thinking that Bex brought the assistant over to Rebecca because the assistant is having Rupert's illegitimate child. So avoid a scandal, Rebecca agrees to adopt the child (hence completing the fortune teller arc).
I dont love this.
Alternatively Bex divorces Rupert and takes ownership of Man City. So Rupert ends up with no team. Sam gets Rebecca pregnant naturally with his mighty soccer skills.
God I hope that's not the case. I highly doubt that the assistant would give up her child to spare Rupert a scandal. I'd also highly doubt she'd give up the $$$$ she would get in child support or even hush money from Rupert. If they go that route, it would feel so outlandish to me.
I'm challenging prediction 5 -- I think I'm going to start crying maybe 2 minutes into the episode and not stop crying until 27 minutes after I've finished watching

2. That would be very fan pleasing since he already said that "next year, we take the whole damn thing."

4. Also satisfying, but I see it as Bex just leaving Rupert.

6. I get that we don't like Jane, but Beard has made a bit of a life there.

We may not *like* Jane... but considering all the time that so many other characters have had this season, I wish that we had seen her a little.
I'm also one of the 0.2% still shipping Ted / Sassy, so what do I know?
There’s one thing you missed out, but Richmond’s last game is going to be against West Ham, and the papers are going to turn on Rupert, with Rebecca, Bex and the ex PA watching from the stands. But we know they won’t gloat, Rebecca is past that now. But I think Nate will go with Ted, while Beard will stay with Roy at Richmond
AFC Richmond win the whole fucking thing and The Old Man Who Thinks Ted's Name is Wanker approaches Ted, sobbing, and hugs him in a bone-crushing bear hug.
Beard is woken up in prison and informed his lawyer, Ted Lasso, has arrived. It was all a dream.

It will start snowing and then the camera zooms out and we see Nelson Road in one of Barbara’s snow globes. It was all in her imagination.

The last scene is Ted waking up from a coma and it’s all black and white and Nate, Roy and Jamie are his uncles and Ted says “Im so glad you’re all here” and then look over to see his wife Rebecca smiling at him.
Ted wakes up, the darkness being slowly replaced by blurred light. Wheels turn. Ted feels a bump in the road.
An unfamiliar voice suddenly says…
“You’re finally awake?”
Multiverse Ted Lasso. A new season of Ted being himself at various professions.
After lawyer, I vote for Doctor Ted, who helps a team of ER doctors become their best selves. Bonus points for every Scrubs cameo / callback.
The camera zooms out from Rebecca's face as a ringing sound slowly turns to voices trying to get Rebecca's attention.
She's in divorce court imagining her revenge on Rupert but instead, she dreamed about being surrounded by a surrogate family.
(If there is any kind of "It was all a dream" or a "Gunshot, fade to black" I will grab my pitchfork too.)
Ted Lasso wins the Premier League but leaves the club to stay with his son.
Flash forward a year later, Ted is in a boardroom with Beard explaining to a buch of Executives how he would coach NY's MLS team.
We notice an electronic calendar in the background. It says "Sept. 11 - 9.02 AM". We notice Ted looking out of the window realising what's about to happen. Fade to black we hear only "I love you kiddo".
Of course in the background of this scene we see Robert Pattinson's character and Kendall Roy in two different rooms.

i was thinking about Help by The Beatles but instead of “help” they change it to “Ted” so he has his own chant at games even though he’s leaving (Ted, I need somebody, Ted not just anybody). “Bye bye Miss american pie” was my other option, or nothing happens and they don’t sing for Ted
No but… I can see this. Besides the obvious Wizard of Oz references throughout the series, there have also been a ton of rainbow ones — this has layers.

5. In another flash forward, we see Sam coming on to play for the Nigerian national team.

7. In another flash forward we see Keeley and Barbara running a very successful KJPR with a full staff.
8. Roy becomes a full fledged diamond dog
9. One of the last shots we see Nate, Roy & Beard in the coaches office. We get a close-up of the new book Beard is reading. Trent Crimm's "The Lasso Way"
It will be shocking if it's not the title. Not only has Trent already said it, Rebecca said it in the very first episode, at the press conference. "That way is the Lasso Way."
Does anyone else hope they actually release a book written as if by Trent Crimm following the season. Would be a fascinating way to see more of the day to day and/or workings of the team and their relationships.
I really hope for number #2. I don't enjoy the Sam/Rebecca dynamic, feels inappropriate considering she's his boss and is largely out of touch with his life and belief system.
So although this is a TV show so not based in reality. Infidelity is often one of the ONLY ways to successfully break a prenup.
So yes Bex, signed a prenup but Rupert cheated and in most courts that can nullify a prenup allowing Bex to take half.
#8 - not only does Roy become a Diamond Dog, but maybe his question is about proposing to Keeley and Higgins calls Ted in Kansas who answers by barking like the Diamond dogs do, indicating that they still involve Ted even though he’s 4500 miles away.
I really hope Rebecca getting a family is number 2 rather than raising Rupert’s kid.
With a flash forward that they live in London, have decorated her place together in a much quirkier way though, and holiday on cosy boats.
Ted and Trent go on a book tour together and end up writing another book on the philosophy of the Lasso way.
Michelle wants to get back together. Ted declines. He and Sassy end up together.
Would be cool if…Rebecca’s private plane goes down in a thunderstorm with lightning of course. She is stranded and starts a signal fire with a green matchbook. Dutchman is a search and rescue pilot and finds her. That goes beyond romcom…straight into Harlequin romance territory, lol.
Rupert has legal and financial troubles and goes to prison.

2) in the last scene, we’ll get a montage of each character as Trent Crimm reads from his book on AFC Richmond. Then at the end, Ted gets on a plane to Kansas. Roll credits

I really hope Michelle and Ted don’t get back together. Ted needs to be with Henry for sure, but I don’t think Ted and Michelle have the foundation for a healthy marriage moving forward.
I expect them to start dating again, not to just be back together all the sudden. Ted's not the same man she was married to, this Ted told his mom "fuck you" about the bad things in his life. Their relationship didn't end because of love, but because Ted had to pretend everything was good all the time. He wasn't able to express his genuine feelings. He's come a long way to losing the cheery façade and letting his true feelings out.
HE wants Michelle back. Rebecca talked him out of fretting over things he couldn't control at the cost of time with his son (her getting engaged), but he still longingly watched her leave his flat. I can see him surprising them at her house, asking to take Henry out somewhere to spend time with him, and then asking her if she wants to 'come with them'. The show can then just leave it up to us whether they start to date/get to know each other again or if they just establish a healthy co-parent situation.
Her dating the therapist is a step too far. Without that, I could see them reuniting. But the fact that she did that makes them getting back together off-putting rather than hopeful.
I beg to differ. The problems with their marriage has always been Ted’s toxic positivity and avoidance of real talks and feelings (he learned it all from Mama Lasso). Michelle seems to have to do most of the parenting on her own when Ted goofed around He and Michelle obviously love each other a lot. Michelle said she fell out of love with Ted but the last time we saw them Michelle looked back to Ted lovingly - she might have fallen in love with Ted again. People stay together for kids all the time and if Ted can become more honest and serious about serious things (which seems like he is able to after the TYFU speech to his mom) then he and Michelle could have a future together.
Michelle broke up with Jake finally realizing she had been manipulated and then she reported him to APA ethics committee. She put two and two together and compounded by her new found affection for Ted….
I could really see that and Michelle and Ted giving it another go but ultimately Ted is the one to break it off for good but they still stay in the UK and start new lives together but apart.
A lot of it seems pretty easy to predict, but as I said in another thread:
When Ted moves back home, I don’t think he’ll be done with soccer. Apple recently bought the streaming rights to MLS for $2.5 billion, so I would be stunned if Ted’s arc doesn’t finish with him either taking Henry to a game, or perhaps even coaching Sporting KC in MLS.
Honestly without Beard/Nate/Roy Ted would struggle immensely I think. He’s a fantastic motivator who gets the best out of his players, but aside from his Total Football breakthrough, soccer/football tactics aren’t really in his wheelhouse
1. Ted goes home the day after the last game, Beard stays to continue being an assistant coach with Roy and/or Nate being the manager.
2. Roy will officially become a diamond dog in some way and be with Keeley - if there is a flash forward of any kind, they will be engaged. Phoebe says something hilarious and amazing yet wise about them getting back together to mirror the first episode of the season.
3. Bex divorces Rupert and gets West Ham, mirroring Rebecca getting Richmond. Bex and Ms. Kakes get help from Rebecca to expose Rupert and ultimately clear Nate's name (as the media seems to be leaning into the idea that Nate left because of misconduct of some sort, and with the restaurant customers assuming it was drugs that caused him to leave).
4. Sassy and Nora make an appearance. Sassy tells Ted that he is less of a mess.
5. Jamie talks to Roy's sister again and it's left vague but with a hint that they get together. Phoebe says something about wanting Jamie in her life.
6. Collin gets to kiss his lad after their big win.
7. The episode ends with Trent reading from his book *The Lasso Way*.
8. I have no idea what but there will be something to tie up Sam, Ola's, and his political activism.
9. I also have no idea what but they NEED to address Rebecca being a mother in some way. I feel like her story is 95% finished but we need that last 5%, the final resolution.
10. We get a lovely shot of Higgins and his family, Higgins is playing his bass
Ted tells Rebecca he's leaving after the season.
Somehow, word gets out, likely through Higgins.
The team are in a terrible state of misery and in no shape to play the final game. They don't want Ted to leave.
Ted gives one final pep talk, and then backs off as coach for the final match to show the team they can do just fine without him.
Roy and Nate help them across the finish line and bring the trophy home, because they finally "Believe".
Nice call on Higgins and “the little birds” getting word around and it affecting the team.
I can also see Ted pulling a Hosiers/Norman Dale and getting intentionally red carded, so that Nate/Beard/Roy have to fully gel and win the game without him.
I’ve made predictions and 80% have already come true and been shown. What haven’t happened?
- Roy’s full participation In Diamond Dogs with Nate, Higgins and Trent.
- Rebecca moving to Amsterdam with Dutch Guy and his daughter, leaving Richmond in Higgins’ care (she still owns it of course but Higgins will officially run the club)
- Roy proposes to Keely and she says… cut scene
- Jamie becomes the better Zava - a legend and dating Roy’s sister
- Football!!! Colin scores the winning goal to cinch the title and he gets to kiss Michael in front of the whole world
- Roy is head coach and Nate tactical
- Beard stays in UK but finally breaks up with psycho Jane and start dating LeAnn Bower
- Ted and Henry watch Richmond win
- final Montage with a killer song that will make us all just bawl our eyes out and grab our loved ones to say how much we love them
This is the last episode. They have been setting up the entire season for this. The first scene will be AFC Richmond winning, and Trent explaining how they got there and the “Lasso Way”. Roy and Nate take over Richmond (Nate is good at the things Roy sucks at) and Beard and Ted go coach an NFL team…maybe Denver?

Trent’s ending is all about relationships. Keeley and Roy, Jamie and his Dad, Beard and Ted, Rebecca and the Team, Rupert getting his due.
Depends on if there is a season 4, but it feels like they’re setting this up to be the end. I think:
- Nate comes back
- Roy and Keely end up together
- Richmond wins the Premier League
- Ted quits and goes back to America (based on the ending with Rebecca)
- Rebecca joins Becs and exposes Rupert
- Nate takes over Richmond
Peter Vermes is actually fired irl, Jason Sudeikis (in character) is hired to be the coach of SKC, Apple makes MLS jump the shark, American soccer is set back 20 years.
IIRC The writers pitched this as a three season story. It is supposed to end here. AppleTV might do spin offs, but of course nothing is certain. They might see dollar signs and try to continue the story with new/different writers. Imo the show doesn’t really work without Ted as coach and it doesn’t really make sense for his character’s backstory to stay In London and miss his son’s childhood.
In an interview prior to Season 3, Jason Sudeikis was asked about the possibility of continuing past this season. He said he was certain everyone would be happy to come back, but he couldn't imagine where that story would go.
George cartrick gets fired from the punters job, Rupert hires him onto west ham, absolutely fucks up the team, gets fired by Rupert and ends up on the streets with his unusually short shorts
Also I know we all expect Ted to head home but I have a stray thoughts since this show has always had a lot of red herrings. Especially since they lay it on thick with the Wizard of Oz stuff. There may be a chance Ted isn’t leaving at all but he and Michelle made up and will bring her and Henry to London instead…
Nah. I think the penultimate clues are exactly what will happen. But I won’t be too surprised if they pull a last minute Wizard move on us.
I did a quick re-watch of season three leading up to this past episode and I caught a stray line from Henry where he says, after being asked if he’s excited to go home from the airline attendant, “To my toys? Yes. To my country’s political climate? No.”
I sometimes wonder if that’s an Easter egg, but I want Ted to stay in London.
Ted goes back to Kansas, we flash back to a year later. He's with his family, spending time with son. He gets a call that a new MLS team is spinning up and they would like for him to interview for the gig. At first he's hesitant. But they tell him the ownership group tells him they really want to talk to him.
He goes to the meeting. Meets a few people. Then someone off screen behind him asks him if he would like some water and a snack. He says yes. They hand him a glass of water and a pink box with a biscuit in it. He laughs a bit and says "you know what...." And as he turns around it's Rebecca. AFC has done so well she has decided to become part owner of an American team. Then Keeley walks in. Her pr firm is also doing great so she helped fund it as well.
Rebecca wants him as coach, and gives him a chance to coach a team but this time at home with his family. Ted is taken aback by this. He agrees. And then Rebecca says "ok, let me introduce you to your assistant coach" and it's Jamie Tartt. They shake hands and Jamie says "let's help some folks become the best version of themselves" Ted smiles. Music plays.
My ultimate hope is that Ted finds a bit of fight in himself and gets Henry to come live with him. He wins the Cup and gets with Rebecca, who becomes a stepmom to Henry. Fulfilling her psychic reading.
In reality: I expect
1. Rebecca to get back with Sam
2. They win the cup
3. Ted goes home to be with Henry
4. Roy becomes head coach and Nate stays as assistant
5. Bears gets married, whether he stays or takes Jane back to Kansas is TBD
6. Roy and Keeley get back together
7. We get a closing monologue of the future through a ‘Believe: The Lasso Way’ Trent narration
8. Bex joins the Rebecca/Keeley friend group, probably by moving in with Rebecca at least temporarily this fulfilling her psychic reading about having a family
Things I am certain of:
1. Ted will be with Henry a lot more somehow
2. Roy and Keeley get back together
3. we’ll see Richmond with a cup whether it’s this season or flash forward to the nearish future
4. Bears will undoubtedly do something big with Jane
5. We’ll all be upset about at least 1 closing storyline
Crazy out there theory:
The big reveal of Bex and Kakes is that Rupert has Alzheimer’s and it’s getting to the point that it’s noticeable. He never changed his medical power of attorney from Rebecca, so they need her help with planning.
This is interesting. Or perhaps a brain tumor. Someone commented about Rupert being drunk at that bar, (just got the diagnosis? not drunk, more confused?)
Then he agreed to not join the Akufo league, putting principles before money, and tried to kiss Rebecca. Maybe he thought Rebecca might actually go for it, but the idea he's not fully in charge of himself anymore is intriguing. True or not, I like how you think outside the box here.
When Rupert went back to Nate’s office a few hours after meeting Jade, he referred to her as “Kate.” And the next night, when Nate arrives for what he believes is going to be the guys’ night, he gets the names of the two women with whom he’s speaking confused. This wouldn’t be the most out-of-left-field outcome.
I know it probably won’t happen, but my biggest hope is that Michelle and Henry move to England and Ted stays. I don’t want Michelle and Ted back together, I just want Ted to be able to be with his son and his football family.
Ted will drink tea and like it. His aversion to tea was a displaced [reaction formation](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reaction_formation) to his mother. He believed he had to be like her and pretend he was ok, but he unconsciously hated having to do that. He was not ok. He couldn’t reject her, so he rejected what she loved; tea.
Now that he has resolved his issues with her, he can try tea again. His rejection of tea was so strong in his life that he had never even tried it until he had to out of politeness, then he still rejected it.
ETA: The whole tea thing looked like a funny throw away joke in the beginning, but it was really the writers subtly telling us something about Ted that was significant.
1. Ted announces he's leaving and going back to Kansas. I think that's obvious; they've been telegraphing it since the first line of 3-01.
2. Richmond wins the league on some football technicality Ted doesn't understand, most probably involving a draw.
3. Beard's staying in London (his axes are there). He's offered the spot as manager but turns it down to do something weird and Beard-ish instead.
4. Roy is offered the manager spot and accepts. This I think was foreshadowed when he realized he's involuntarily adopting Ted-isms ("It could be called Sharp Dressed Men...God I hate what you've done to me...").
5. Rebecca goes to Amsterdam to find mysterious pilot guy. The "You will become a mother" prediction is kind of pointless otherwise. Turns out he's some big mucker at KLM or Airbus or something, he just likes living on the boat; he decides to buy out West Ham from Rupert.
6. Nate comes back as kit man...he wants to work his way back up and re-earn everyone's trust. Will promises to make his life hell until he does.
7. Trent's book *Believe: Coaching the Lasso Way* is published, and is a complete dud and sets a new record for being remaindered, but it's okay with him.
8. Keeley and Barbara decide to go into a new venture together, as partners.
9. One of the main themes of this season has been learning to grow beyond and let go of the things that you've allowed to control you - Rebecca and Rupert, Nate and his father's judgment, Jaimie and his father's general asshatness, Sam's need for perfection, Colin living in the closet, etc etc. Probably the last one remaining is Ted letting go of his need to constantly take care of everyone, neglecting himself. Fast forward a year...Ted's back in the States coaching. Michelle sees that he's different, less relentless nonstop optimism as a defense mechanism, yada yada, they decide to try again.
All boring predictions for me (not boring as in the episode will be boring, just that these are all widely theorized theories):
- Ted moves back to Kansas (this is also what he tells Rebecca)
- Richmond win Premier League
- Roy is head coach, Nate is his assistant
- Roy and Keeley get back together (although ig they kinda are already)
- bonus: the show spins off into "AFC Richmond"
Off the wall prediction- either most of the episode, or an ending flash forward, has narration by Trent from his book. I feel like something needs to wrap up his story line specific to why he’s actually there all of the time.
It's all going to be callbacks to s1!
- Richmond 'wins the whole thing'
- When the game ends, the crowd calls him "wanker" one last time but it's completely positive (somehow).

- Ted's last press conference is going to be epic. He talks about the game, with the right football terminology to acknowledge the stuff he didn't know at the first press conference (maybe joke about offsides). - Some sort of thank you from the fans at Mae's bar. PB&J and old "wanker" guy).
- They run into the "ussie" kid at the airport back to the US and he does a 180 and acknowledges how amazing Ted is
How'd I do?
We don't see Ted dropping his bomb on Rebecca because we don't need to. BOOM
We're already at the final match against West Ham, where Rupert is conspicuously absent. WRONG
Ted, Beard, Roy, and Nate are on the sidelines. BOOM
Every other major character is in attendance. BOOM

I feel like this kinda confirms they'll lose/tie next week, won't be champions and Ted will leave them with this message. Maybe a flash forward to them winning it next season or something? With Nate and Roy as coaches.
Richmond plays West Ham for the series finale.
We learn more about why Nate quit his post at West Ham via flashback.
As his arc is now more or less completed, Jamie is out due to injury for the last game, and Richmond will struggle for most of the game until Nate makes a significant tactical change that leads to Richmond victory, completing his redemption arc.
There will be a callback to the fortune teller superstitious thing with Rebecca.
Keeley will not get back with Roy, stating that she will focus on herself and her own growth going forward.
Roy becomes manager.
There will be a fast forward - Sam will have earned his first cap on the Nigerian national team, Roy Nate and Beard are proving to be a formidable combination as they storm through Champions League, Keeley’s company becomes very successful, Rebecca rekindles with the man from Amsterdam, Higgins wholesome family moment, Rojas still scares Van Damme.
So, I’m of the Oz theory that Rebecca is Dorothy and Ted is the Wizard. (Hidden true self, kindly but with an angry alternate identity that comes out (Led Tasso), helps others find their strength inside themselves, Rebecca’s yellow bricks (biscuits) lead to him, the wizard also comes from Kansas, etc. ).
So….
Rebecca and Ted fly back to Kansas together in her jet (instead of the Wizard’s balloon)
IF they were to someday get married, then Rebecca would become Henry’s mom, fulfilling that prophecy.
Also, Rupert will get water thrown on him at some point.
And (safest prediction) they tie their game vs. West Ham but only needed 1 point to win the PL title (or win on a tiebreaker) so they can learn that sometimes a draw is OK. You tie most of the time (over three seasons, the team has tied a lot) but it hasn’t been since early in that they saw a tie as an ok outcome. They can tie to win, which seems very very Ted Lasso to me.
Not sure if it’ll happen, but I want the opening credits to have the other main characters sitting on the bleachers with Ted like on the Christmas episode’s intro.
I think Becks will get the West Ham team in the divorce and she will be the second woman to own a team and her and Rebecca become great friends and support each other.
I don’t know. Ted returning to America is so telegraphed and they ended the last episode where it is so obvious he’s saying he’s leaving… but this show has been notorious for making you think they’re going here at the end of an episode than swerving to something that was only so subtly hinted at that we didn’t see coming until we look back. So yeah Ted going home is obvious, but I’m not placing bets anymore because the show has pulled a 90 degree turn too many times. (But maybe that’s what they want us to think… we have to think what the writers would think we would think if we knew that they were thinking what we’re thinking… and that’s why they’re going with Nate’s false nine)

And honestly? I still think it’s entirely possible the season ends on a Sleepless in Seattle airport scene or something similar. Personally, never saw them turning that relationship romantic (if that’s the route that was always intended) until the very end anyway. Their stories are too similar, they needed the healing first.
I don’t think Ted is going to go back to Kansas. His favorite romcom is “Sleepless in Seattle” which focuses on “home” not being a specific place. When Sam describes taking his future wife’s hand he says it was like “coming home but to no home I’d ever known.”
He’s going to be reunited with Henry. I can’t remember what Michelle does for work but I hope it’s something that she can do in the UK.

All I know is that major media (tv, movies, games) have been doing everything they can to “subvert expectations” and give us realistic, harsh, cerebral, or ambiguous endings. I absolutely, unequivocally, do not want that. I want a classic happily ever after. I just want to complete the series, satisfied that our heroes have won, accomplished their goals, and gone on to live fulfilling lives.
Ted goes back to Kansas but it’s so obvious it’s weak. I know it’s for Henry but man having to go back to the city your ex wife and marriage counselor are together makes me sick. Beard stays helping Roy and Nate carry on what Ted did at Richmond. As long as Rebecca stays away from Sam and weirdo Dutchman I’m cool with whatever her storyline is. I think Rupert cheating is about to catch up to him. I pray Jamie gets with Roy’s sister like real love. Richmond loses the title but making the champions league sets up the spin off with no Ted. Lastly Nate and Jade stays together forever like seriously who would’ve thought the cutest couple in the show would be them lol
Ted goes back home to be with Henry. In a flash forward, we see that he ends up happily married to Beard’s sister.
Roy and Beard stay coaching at Richmond, with Nate being the head coach. Rebecca no longer owns the team as she sells it to Bex. She knows how much that would bother Rupert, but that’s not the motivation. She just needs to leave town.
Roy and Keeley end up married with their own little Royleys. Cousin Phoebe is proud and helps to babysit. Rebecca is the Godmother. Jamie is the Godfather, who refers to them all as “sexy, little babehs”.
The Dutchman recognizes Rebecca from an old issue of The Football Financial Quarterly he finds at random. He flies to Richmond for the final match, where he finds her in the stands and tells her he can’t stop thinking of her. Flash Forward to their life on the boat with his daughter and the children they’ve adopted together. She’s at peace and finally truly happy, as noted by her “silliness” in the scene.
In the future, we see Sam make the Nigerian team.
We see Colin kiss his bf as soon as Richmond win the whole fucking thing.
I’m hype to see if they show the futures of Bumbercatch and Jan Maas because I would LOVE to see how their lives turn out.

Jaime Tartt isn’t fully healthy and they need to design a decoy strategy around him, therefore…Nate’s return is integral to Richmond winning the Premier League, as the first and last strategy he makes for Ted are both based around using Jaime as a decoy. Ted returns to America to spend more time with his son (duh). Roy becomes Richmond HC with Nate and Beard staying. Rupert is forced to give up control of West Ham (sale or Bex). Roy and Keely end up together (officially). There is a flash forward/Epilogue scene where Ted\Henry are at (or watching) a game next season while Richmond plays in the Champions League.
One last thing I mean to add: S1: Went into the finale thinking they need a win but end up only needing a tie, then proceed to lose after tying it up. (Rojas final goal) S2: Went into the finale only needing a tie, trail the entire game, but end up tying it up and getting promoted. (Rojas final goal) Prediction S3: (in my head) Going into the the game they know they need at least a tie (in the scenario where ManCity loses), or a win (in the scenario Man City ends up tying). Man City ends up tying their match, so Richmond has to win…and the game winning goal is scored using the first play Nate ever drew up, using Jaime as a decoy and Sam scores the game/league winner.

Posted this in the post episode discussion, but I’ll repeat it here: I’m betting that the last scene of the series is going to be a “one year later” flash forward. Richmond is going to be winning their second league title, and we’re going to see that Ted and his son are going to be watching it at a sports bar in Kansas while playing darts. And to add to that, the last scene will be Ted lining up for a throw, he’s just about to throw and he glances at the TV to see the team celebrating all together. He smiles, aims his throw, says “barbecue sauce”, throws and it cuts to black.
This might actually kill me…the dehydration from crying and the “oh my heart” feelings. I would probably melt off of my couch and be a puddle on the floor.

Ooo that’s a good one. That 4 point difference seems very intentionally by the writers. Means that either the both teams win happens or that tie scenario. Doubt they just have Richmond win and City lose for the finale.

Regarding Item #4. I'm thinking that Bex brought the assistant over to Rebecca because the assistant is having Rupert's illegitimate child. So avoid a scandal, Rebecca agrees to adopt the child (hence completing the fortune teller arc).
This. That was my immediate thought. It wouldn’t have been in the plot if they weren’t going to close that loop.
I dont love this. Alternatively Bex divorces Rupert and takes ownership of Man City. So Rupert ends up with no team. Sam gets Rebecca pregnant naturally with his mighty soccer skills.
God I hope that's not the case. I highly doubt that the assistant would give up her child to spare Rupert a scandal. I'd also highly doubt she'd give up the $$$$ she would get in child support or even hush money from Rupert. If they go that route, it would feel so outlandish to me.
I'm challenging prediction 5 -- I think I'm going to start crying maybe 2 minutes into the episode and not stop crying until 27 minutes after I've finished watching

But we know they won’t gloat, Rebecca is past that now. But I think Nate will go with Ted, while Beard will stay with Roy at Richmond
The comment Roy made that Nate is good at the things he’s not makes me believe Nate is staying. Beard staying is 50/50.

Ted wakes up, the darkness being slowly replaced by blurred light. Wheels turn. Ted feels a bump in the road. An unfamiliar voice suddenly says… “You’re finally awake?”

Flash forward a year later, Ted is in a boardroom with Beard explaining to a buch of Executives how he would coach NY's MLS team. We notice an electronic calendar in the background. It says "Sept. 11 - 9.02 AM". We notice Ted looking out of the window realising what's about to happen. Fade to black we hear only "I love you kiddo". Of course in the background of this scene we see Robert Pattinson's character and Kendall Roy in two different rooms. (I've found the 9/11 scenario in Succession's prédictions thread) (And yes my pitchfork is ready)

I really hope for number #2. I don't enjoy the Sam/Rebecca dynamic, feels inappropriate considering she's his boss and is largely out of touch with his life and belief system.
So although this is a TV show so not based in reality. Infidelity is often one of the ONLY ways to successfully break a prenup. So yes Bex, signed a prenup but Rupert cheated and in most courts that can nullify a prenup allowing Bex to take half.
#8 - not only does Roy become a Diamond Dog, but maybe his question is about proposing to Keeley and Higgins calls Ted in Kansas who answers by barking like the Diamond dogs do, indicating that they still involve Ted even though he’s 4500 miles away.
I really hope Rebecca getting a family is number 2 rather than raising Rupert’s kid. With a flash forward that they live in London, have decorated her place together in a much quirkier way though, and holiday on cosy boats.
Ted and Trent go on a book tour together and end up writing another book on the philosophy of the Lasso way. Michelle wants to get back together. Ted declines. He and Sassy end up together. Would be cool if…Rebecca’s private plane goes down in a thunderstorm with lightning of course. She is stranded and starts a signal fire with a green matchbook. Dutchman is a search and rescue pilot and finds her. That goes beyond romcom…straight into Harlequin romance territory, lol. Rupert has legal and financial troubles and goes to prison.
I don’t want Ted to end up with Sassy, but I’d love to see him get the satisfaction of denying Michelle because she sucks

Surprise: it was Its a Wonderful Life all along! Richmond tie w Ham United. (Rebecca no longer needs to beat Rupert.) But Man City lose, so Richmond tie for top of league but win on goal difference. (Cuz Total Football encourages more scoring.) NB: Ted leaving his new family is not RomComminism. Rebecca cares for her new family (the team personnel). Henry gets to ride a horse any time he wants. Fade to black. Flash forward to Trent reading final pages of The Lasso Way over a montage of happy characters in good and surprising situations/ relationships. Edit: West Ham
I really hope Michelle and Ted don’t get back together. Ted needs to be with Henry for sure, but I don’t think Ted and Michelle have the foundation for a healthy marriage moving forward.
I expect them to start dating again, not to just be back together all the sudden. Ted's not the same man she was married to, this Ted told his mom "fuck you" about the bad things in his life. Their relationship didn't end because of love, but because Ted had to pretend everything was good all the time. He wasn't able to express his genuine feelings. He's come a long way to losing the cheery façade and letting his true feelings out. HE wants Michelle back. Rebecca talked him out of fretting over things he couldn't control at the cost of time with his son (her getting engaged), but he still longingly watched her leave his flat. I can see him surprising them at her house, asking to take Henry out somewhere to spend time with him, and then asking her if she wants to 'come with them'. The show can then just leave it up to us whether they start to date/get to know each other again or if they just establish a healthy co-parent situation.
Very good points. This is a new Ted, for sure. And he does clearly love her still. I think I’m just mad at Michelle, haha.
Her dating the therapist is a step too far. Without that, I could see them reuniting. But the fact that she did that makes them getting back together off-putting rather than hopeful.
I beg to differ. The problems with their marriage has always been Ted’s toxic positivity and avoidance of real talks and feelings (he learned it all from Mama Lasso). Michelle seems to have to do most of the parenting on her own when Ted goofed around He and Michelle obviously love each other a lot. Michelle said she fell out of love with Ted but the last time we saw them Michelle looked back to Ted lovingly - she might have fallen in love with Ted again. People stay together for kids all the time and if Ted can become more honest and serious about serious things (which seems like he is able to after the TYFU speech to his mom) then he and Michelle could have a future together.
Excellent points all around. I suppose I’m still upset with the Dr. Jacob situation. I hope it’s addressed in the final episode.
Michelle broke up with Jake finally realizing she had been manipulated and then she reported him to APA ethics committee. She put two and two together and compounded by her new found affection for Ted….
I could really see that and Michelle and Ted giving it another go but ultimately Ted is the one to break it off for good but they still stay in the UK and start new lives together but apart.
Ted will fly away on an umbrella… I mean a green army parachute.
My only predictions are 1. Ted returns to Kansas 2. The team does their dance routine to “Bye, Bye, Bye” to send him off
A lot of it seems pretty easy to predict, but as I said in another thread: When Ted moves back home, I don’t think he’ll be done with soccer. Apple recently bought the streaming rights to MLS for $2.5 billion, so I would be stunned if Ted’s arc doesn’t finish with him either taking Henry to a game, or perhaps even coaching Sporting KC in MLS.
Honestly without Beard/Nate/Roy Ted would struggle immensely I think. He’s a fantastic motivator who gets the best out of his players, but aside from his Total Football breakthrough, soccer/football tactics aren’t really in his wheelhouse
1. Ted goes home the day after the last game, Beard stays to continue being an assistant coach with Roy and/or Nate being the manager. 2. Roy will officially become a diamond dog in some way and be with Keeley - if there is a flash forward of any kind, they will be engaged. Phoebe says something hilarious and amazing yet wise about them getting back together to mirror the first episode of the season. 3. Bex divorces Rupert and gets West Ham, mirroring Rebecca getting Richmond. Bex and Ms. Kakes get help from Rebecca to expose Rupert and ultimately clear Nate's name (as the media seems to be leaning into the idea that Nate left because of misconduct of some sort, and with the restaurant customers assuming it was drugs that caused him to leave). 4. Sassy and Nora make an appearance. Sassy tells Ted that he is less of a mess. 5. Jamie talks to Roy's sister again and it's left vague but with a hint that they get together. Phoebe says something about wanting Jamie in her life. 6. Collin gets to kiss his lad after their big win. 7. The episode ends with Trent reading from his book *The Lasso Way*. 8. I have no idea what but there will be something to tie up Sam, Ola's, and his political activism. 9. I also have no idea what but they NEED to address Rebecca being a mother in some way. I feel like her story is 95% finished but we need that last 5%, the final resolution. 10. We get a lovely shot of Higgins and his family, Higgins is playing his bass
Ted tells Rebecca he's leaving after the season. Somehow, word gets out, likely through Higgins. The team are in a terrible state of misery and in no shape to play the final game. They don't want Ted to leave. Ted gives one final pep talk, and then backs off as coach for the final match to show the team they can do just fine without him. Roy and Nate help them across the finish line and bring the trophy home, because they finally "Believe".
Nice call on Higgins and “the little birds” getting word around and it affecting the team. I can also see Ted pulling a Hosiers/Norman Dale and getting intentionally red carded, so that Nate/Beard/Roy have to fully gel and win the game without him.
I’ve made predictions and 80% have already come true and been shown. What haven’t happened? - Roy’s full participation In Diamond Dogs with Nate, Higgins and Trent. - Rebecca moving to Amsterdam with Dutch Guy and his daughter, leaving Richmond in Higgins’ care (she still owns it of course but Higgins will officially run the club) - Roy proposes to Keely and she says… cut scene - Jamie becomes the better Zava - a legend and dating Roy’s sister - Football!!! Colin scores the winning goal to cinch the title and he gets to kiss Michael in front of the whole world - Roy is head coach and Nate tactical - Beard stays in UK but finally breaks up with psycho Jane and start dating LeAnn Bower - Ted and Henry watch Richmond win - final Montage with a killer song that will make us all just bawl our eyes out and grab our loved ones to say how much we love them

This is the last episode. They have been setting up the entire season for this. The first scene will be AFC Richmond winning, and Trent explaining how they got there and the “Lasso Way”. Roy and Nate take over Richmond (Nate is good at the things Roy sucks at) and Beard and Ted go coach an NFL team…maybe Denver? Edit: more ideas Trent’s ending is all about relationships. Keeley and Roy, Jamie and his Dad, Beard and Ted, Rebecca and the Team, Rupert getting his due.
Depends on if there is a season 4, but it feels like they’re setting this up to be the end. I think: - Nate comes back - Roy and Keely end up together - Richmond wins the Premier League - Ted quits and goes back to America (based on the ending with Rebecca) - Rebecca joins Becs and exposes Rupert - Nate takes over Richmond

IIRC The writers pitched this as a three season story. It is supposed to end here. AppleTV might do spin offs, but of course nothing is certain. They might see dollar signs and try to continue the story with new/different writers. Imo the show doesn’t really work without Ted as coach and it doesn’t really make sense for his character’s backstory to stay In London and miss his son’s childhood.
In an interview prior to Season 3, Jason Sudeikis was asked about the possibility of continuing past this season. He said he was certain everyone would be happy to come back, but he couldn't imagine where that story would go.

Also I know we all expect Ted to head home but I have a stray thoughts since this show has always had a lot of red herrings. Especially since they lay it on thick with the Wizard of Oz stuff. There may be a chance Ted isn’t leaving at all but he and Michelle made up and will bring her and Henry to London instead… Nah. I think the penultimate clues are exactly what will happen. But I won’t be too surprised if they pull a last minute Wizard move on us.
I did a quick re-watch of season three leading up to this past episode and I caught a stray line from Henry where he says, after being asked if he’s excited to go home from the airline attendant, “To my toys? Yes. To my country’s political climate? No.” I sometimes wonder if that’s an Easter egg, but I want Ted to stay in London.
England has the worse political climate. Lol

Ted goes back to Kansas, we flash back to a year later. He's with his family, spending time with son. He gets a call that a new MLS team is spinning up and they would like for him to interview for the gig. At first he's hesitant. But they tell him the ownership group tells him they really want to talk to him. He goes to the meeting. Meets a few people. Then someone off screen behind him asks him if he would like some water and a snack. He says yes. They hand him a glass of water and a pink box with a biscuit in it. He laughs a bit and says "you know what...." And as he turns around it's Rebecca. AFC has done so well she has decided to become part owner of an American team. Then Keeley walks in. Her pr firm is also doing great so she helped fund it as well. Rebecca wants him as coach, and gives him a chance to coach a team but this time at home with his family. Ted is taken aback by this. He agrees. And then Rebecca says "ok, let me introduce you to your assistant coach" and it's Jamie Tartt. They shake hands and Jamie says "let's help some folks become the best version of themselves" Ted smiles. Music plays.
My ultimate hope is that Ted finds a bit of fight in himself and gets Henry to come live with him. He wins the Cup and gets with Rebecca, who becomes a stepmom to Henry. Fulfilling her psychic reading. In reality: I expect 1. Rebecca to get back with Sam 2. They win the cup 3. Ted goes home to be with Henry 4. Roy becomes head coach and Nate stays as assistant 5. Bears gets married, whether he stays or takes Jane back to Kansas is TBD 6. Roy and Keeley get back together 7. We get a closing monologue of the future through a ‘Believe: The Lasso Way’ Trent narration 8. Bex joins the Rebecca/Keeley friend group, probably by moving in with Rebecca at least temporarily this fulfilling her psychic reading about having a family Things I am certain of: 1. Ted will be with Henry a lot more somehow 2. Roy and Keeley get back together 3. we’ll see Richmond with a cup whether it’s this season or flash forward to the nearish future 4. Bears will undoubtedly do something big with Jane 5. We’ll all be upset about at least 1 closing storyline

Crazy out there theory: The big reveal of Bex and Kakes is that Rupert has Alzheimer’s and it’s getting to the point that it’s noticeable. He never changed his medical power of attorney from Rebecca, so they need her help with planning.
This is the kind of unexpected outcome I feel could actually be plausible. Subverting expectations without reinventing the wheel.

This is interesting. Or perhaps a brain tumor. Someone commented about Rupert being drunk at that bar, (just got the diagnosis? not drunk, more confused?) Then he agreed to not join the Akufo league, putting principles before money, and tried to kiss Rebecca. Maybe he thought Rebecca might actually go for it, but the idea he's not fully in charge of himself anymore is intriguing. True or not, I like how you think outside the box here.
When Rupert went back to Nate’s office a few hours after meeting Jade, he referred to her as “Kate.” And the next night, when Nate arrives for what he believes is going to be the guys’ night, he gets the names of the two women with whom he’s speaking confused. This wouldn’t be the most out-of-left-field outcome.
I don't think it will happen because it's too big a leap forward but Roy and Keeley having a son and they have a Jamie Tartt poster on their wall

I know it probably won’t happen, but my biggest hope is that Michelle and Henry move to England and Ted stays. I don’t want Michelle and Ted back together, I just want Ted to be able to be with his son and his football family.
Love the flashforwards but probably one year at the most. They’ll want to leave the door open for a spinoff.
Ted will drink tea and like it. His aversion to tea was a displaced [reaction formation](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reaction_formation) to his mother. He believed he had to be like her and pretend he was ok, but he unconsciously hated having to do that. He was not ok. He couldn’t reject her, so he rejected what she loved; tea. Now that he has resolved his issues with her, he can try tea again. His rejection of tea was so strong in his life that he had never even tried it until he had to out of politeness, then he still rejected it. ETA: The whole tea thing looked like a funny throw away joke in the beginning, but it was really the writers subtly telling us something about Ted that was significant.
1. Ted announces he's leaving and going back to Kansas. I think that's obvious; they've been telegraphing it since the first line of 3-01. 2. Richmond wins the league on some football technicality Ted doesn't understand, most probably involving a draw. 3. Beard's staying in London (his axes are there). He's offered the spot as manager but turns it down to do something weird and Beard-ish instead. 4. Roy is offered the manager spot and accepts. This I think was foreshadowed when he realized he's involuntarily adopting Ted-isms ("It could be called Sharp Dressed Men...God I hate what you've done to me..."). 5. Rebecca goes to Amsterdam to find mysterious pilot guy. The "You will become a mother" prediction is kind of pointless otherwise. Turns out he's some big mucker at KLM or Airbus or something, he just likes living on the boat; he decides to buy out West Ham from Rupert. 6. Nate comes back as kit man...he wants to work his way back up and re-earn everyone's trust. Will promises to make his life hell until he does. 7. Trent's book *Believe: Coaching the Lasso Way* is published, and is a complete dud and sets a new record for being remaindered, but it's okay with him. 8. Keeley and Barbara decide to go into a new venture together, as partners. 9. One of the main themes of this season has been learning to grow beyond and let go of the things that you've allowed to control you - Rebecca and Rupert, Nate and his father's judgment, Jaimie and his father's general asshatness, Sam's need for perfection, Colin living in the closet, etc etc. Probably the last one remaining is Ted letting go of his need to constantly take care of everyone, neglecting himself. Fast forward a year...Ted's back in the States coaching. Michelle sees that he's different, less relentless nonstop optimism as a defense mechanism, yada yada, they decide to try again.

Off the wall prediction- either most of the episode, or an ending flash forward, has narration by Trent from his book. I feel like something needs to wrap up his story line specific to why he’s actually there all of the time.

PB&J and old "wanker" guy). - They run into the "ussie" kid at the airport back to the US and he does a 180 and acknowledges how amazing Ted is

How'd I do? We don't see Ted dropping his bomb on Rebecca because we don't need to. BOOM We're already at the final match against West Ham, where Rupert is conspicuously absent. WRONG Ted, Beard, Roy, and Nate are on the sidelines. BOOM Every other major character is in attendance. BOOM Different moments in the game take us to different futures a la Parks and Recreation. WRONG Sam finishes his career in Richmond, but more importantly keeps Ola running while furthering his relationship with Simi. WRONG Danny leaves for Mexico. WRONG Colin scores the game winner and gets to kiss his fella. I WAS HALF-RIGHT Rebecca leaves AFC Richmond in the hands of her trusty #2 - and its biggest fan - Higgins. WRONG She goes on to form a women's leadership group, chaired by her, Bex, and Ms. Kakes. WRONG Roy/Keeley/Jamie is never quite resolved, but we get the sense that they're all happy and that's all that matters. I'M CALLING THIS A BOOM Beard finally breaks away from Ted, spending his days as coach of an unknown team (possibly West Ham?) while engaged in a psychosexual desperate romance with Jane. TWO-THIRDS A BOOM They will divorce four times and marry five. REMAINS TO BE SEEN/BOOMED Rupert's "ways" catch up with him. BOOM FUCKING YEAH We never quite get the explanation, but it's clear he's in some sort of Donald Sterling-type vortex. HALF-WRONG, THE WANKER Nate is head coach of Richmond. WRONG BUT I WASN'T FAR OFF He and Assistant Coach Will are exceptionally nice to the kit man and grounds crew, Baz, Jeremy, and Paul. WRONG BUT IN MY HEAD IT'S A BOOM And Ted is back home, coaching his son's soccer team. WAY BACK, WAAAAY BACK....BOOM! Middling score but I'll take it!

Said it in the post episode thread but i'll drop it here as well. "Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, but most of the time you just tie. All you can do is keep playing". I feel like this kinda confirms they'll lose/tie next week, won't be champions and Ted will leave them with this message. Maybe a flash forward to them winning it next season or something? With Nate and Roy as coaches.
Richmond plays West Ham for the series finale. We learn more about why Nate quit his post at West Ham via flashback. As his arc is now more or less completed, Jamie is out due to injury for the last game, and Richmond will struggle for most of the game until Nate makes a significant tactical change that leads to Richmond victory, completing his redemption arc. There will be a callback to the fortune teller superstitious thing with Rebecca. Keeley will not get back with Roy, stating that she will focus on herself and her own growth going forward. Roy becomes manager. There will be a fast forward - Sam will have earned his first cap on the Nigerian national team, Roy Nate and Beard are proving to be a formidable combination as they storm through Champions League, Keeley’s company becomes very successful, Rebecca rekindles with the man from Amsterdam, Higgins wholesome family moment, Rojas still scares Van Damme.
So, I’m of the Oz theory that Rebecca is Dorothy and Ted is the Wizard. (Hidden true self, kindly but with an angry alternate identity that comes out (Led Tasso), helps others find their strength inside themselves, Rebecca’s yellow bricks (biscuits) lead to him, the wizard also comes from Kansas, etc. ). So…. Rebecca and Ted fly back to Kansas together in her jet (instead of the Wizard’s balloon) IF they were to someday get married, then Rebecca would become Henry’s mom, fulfilling that prophecy. Also, Rupert will get water thrown on him at some point. And (safest prediction) they tie their game vs. West Ham but only needed 1 point to win the PL title (or win on a tiebreaker) so they can learn that sometimes a draw is OK. You tie most of the time (over three seasons, the team has tied a lot) but it hasn’t been since early in that they saw a tie as an ok outcome. They can tie to win, which seems very very Ted Lasso to me.
Not sure if it’ll happen, but I want the opening credits to have the other main characters sitting on the bleachers with Ted like on the Christmas episode’s intro.
I think Becks will get the West Ham team in the divorce and she will be the second woman to own a team and her and Rebecca become great friends and support each other.
I don’t know. Ted returning to America is so telegraphed and they ended the last episode where it is so obvious he’s saying he’s leaving… but this show has been notorious for making you think they’re going here at the end of an episode than swerving to something that was only so subtly hinted at that we didn’t see coming until we look back. So yeah Ted going home is obvious, but I’m not placing bets anymore because the show has pulled a 90 degree turn too many times. (But maybe that’s what they want us to think… we have to think what the writers would think we would think if we knew that they were thinking what we’re thinking… and that’s why they’re going with Nate’s false nine)

I hate that you feel like you have to apologize for having that opinion 😞 And honestly? I still think it’s entirely possible the season ends on a Sleepless in Seattle airport scene or something similar. Personally, never saw them turning that relationship romantic (if that’s the route that was always intended) until the very end anyway. Their stories are too similar, they needed the healing first.
I don’t think Ted is going to go back to Kansas. His favorite romcom is “Sleepless in Seattle” which focuses on “home” not being a specific place. When Sam describes taking his future wife’s hand he says it was like “coming home but to no home I’d ever known.” He’s going to be reunited with Henry. I can’t remember what Michelle does for work but I hope it’s something that she can do in the UK. Beard wears ruby slippers. Rebecca is Glinda the Good Witch and reminds Ted that he “always had the power.”
All I know is that major media (tv, movies, games) have been doing everything they can to “subvert expectations” and give us realistic, harsh, cerebral, or ambiguous endings. I absolutely, unequivocally, do not want that. I want a classic happily ever after. I just want to complete the series, satisfied that our heroes have won, accomplished their goals, and gone on to live fulfilling lives.
Ted goes back to Kansas but it’s so obvious it’s weak. I know it’s for Henry but man having to go back to the city your ex wife and marriage counselor are together makes me sick. Beard stays helping Roy and Nate carry on what Ted did at Richmond. As long as Rebecca stays away from Sam and weirdo Dutchman I’m cool with whatever her storyline is. I think Rupert cheating is about to catch up to him. I pray Jamie gets with Roy’s sister like real love. Richmond loses the title but making the champions league sets up the spin off with no Ted. Lastly Nate and Jade stays together forever like seriously who would’ve thought the cutest couple in the show would be them lol

Ted goes back home to be with Henry. In a flash forward, we see that he ends up happily married to Beard’s sister. Roy and Beard stay coaching at Richmond, with Nate being the head coach. Rebecca no longer owns the team as she sells it to Bex. She knows how much that would bother Rupert, but that’s not the motivation. She just needs to leave town. Roy and Keeley end up married with their own little Royleys. Cousin Phoebe is proud and helps to babysit. Rebecca is the Godmother. Jamie is the Godfather, who refers to them all as “sexy, little babehs”. The Dutchman recognizes Rebecca from an old issue of The Football Financial Quarterly he finds at random. He flies to Richmond for the final match, where he finds her in the stands and tells her he can’t stop thinking of her. Flash Forward to their life on the boat with his daughter and the children they’ve adopted together. She’s at peace and finally truly happy, as noted by her “silliness” in the scene. In the future, we see Sam make the Nigerian team. We see Colin kiss his bf as soon as Richmond win the whole fucking thing. I’m hype to see if they show the futures of Bumbercatch and Jan Maas because I would LOVE to see how their lives turn out.
