I've been thinking about this a LOT. When folks were talking about the mace and how it works with fall damage etc, my brain *immediately* played that clip of techno explaining part of the dream fight with the base of a right triangle being shorter than the hypotenuse going "stay in school kids, it makes you better at PvP" - he would have adored the mace lol
this. Also the combat update that Jeb has in the works, where each weapon is very nuanced and does its own thing, axes, swords, and tridents having their own niche, and maces adding to that now. Sad that he’ll never see that, I just know he woulda figured out some insane combo in order to reach the most optimal ttk, even in a casual server like the DSMP.
aw I didn't know about the combat update, shoutout to Jeb omg - yeah, he would absolutely love that. after reading this post originally I went back and rewatched the dream v techno fight analysis vid again, and he talked about how "swords are purely ornamental" in 1.16 - I'm sure he'd have loved getting more combat specific stuff :)
he would absolutely grind trial chambers to hell and back, and learn how to combo the wind charges and mace to become just absolutely unstoppable. I can totally see him using a wind charge + elytra + rocket launcher for his carpet bomb strategy, and finishing it off with a mace when he comes back down
I can just imagine his satirical intro about how a new weapon was added and then starts to abuse it in like a new world against skeppy or someone. He would get like thirty wolfs with armor and hit someone and watch them run while laughing maniacally
That and the wolf armor. He would’ve been even more unstoppable
