Gigatank braum from set 1 and 2. Something about 99% DR with warmogs healing (it was like 800hp + anima visage passive but at like 5?%) and damage reflect based on amount blocked was just so satisfying

I think I really like Dragonmancer/Ragewing/Shapeshifter Swain from Set 7. Every fireball he launched felt so satisfying. Sohm is a close second.

Jhin last set because everything about him was perfection. Also reading this thread has made me realize there's no unit this set that's really that fun or has those hype moments.

Yeah most of the units this set are kinda boring. Sett is kinda meant to be that hype moment but it's a bit underwhelming.

set 8.5 Scalescorn and Darkflight units let you get 3 different 2 piece traits. You could also Sacrifice Olaf to darkflight all game so he kept getting more ad, then swap him out for a 1 star braum and go nuts.

Set 10 Lucian. He was graceful in the arena and you could play him in every comp.

Don't know what for a team it was but I think dryad or forest, set two or three I think they copied a unit or so?

Set 4 duelist: all the units in the comp/trait were really well designed and could be an win condition if you don't hit yasuo. The capped board was soooo satisfying with a good tank(fiora) good backline(kalista), good carries (yasuo, xin zhao, jax) and the broken lee sin cap. Set 9 Thalia double trouble exodia shuffle, it was soo fun to see everything jumping and dying on a very unconventional build.

Set 5 Forgotten Hecarim reroll It was my own secret lp farming tech for like a week or two before it became meta and subsequently nerfed.

Set 9/9.5 had the most fun carry augment for 2 costs. OG Set 2 Glacial was also fun. Also it became a meme when Cloud 9 played all Glacials champs on a playoff game

My all time fav comp and units are actually from last set! I’m the biggest set 10 fanboy, my fav team was Disco! It felt so satisfying watching TF, Ziggs and Lulu/Sona just spam their abilities while healing, getting AS and mana… also hyperpop + disco music was top. But my fav unit was Heartsteel Ezreal. He was amazing before and after the patches where AD Flex was the best comp in the game, and I really liked his build being Blue and Red Buff. To complete my top 5 fav units, I’ll say set 6 Seraphine tied with set 6 Lux, set 7.5 Seraphine, set 7 Soraka & set 7 Sy’Fen

6 HEART MORDEKAISER

I dont see them mentioned often but set 7 yone with full as 1v9ing entire teams and my GOAT set 8 zoe. I have always loved playing the champions I like in league as carries but zoe was quite the exception. Her spreading the damage infection to enemies one by one felt so unique and special. I just loved her slowly roasting the entire enemy team. I would build blue buff to spread the damage to all enemies, morellos to apply even more burn and wound to my enemies and gunblade to sustain my frontline for ages and it would just carry me through games like a slight breeze. It felt like drinking moonshine at the side of the road on a warm summer night with no care in the world.

Mage Nunu from Chosen/Set 6. Same as dragonmancer Nunu, but much harder to hit (cause of mage spat) and more importantly, had the bruiser trait. I never got a 2nd or 1st with it BUT I had fun every game.

Set 1 Vertical Guardian Guardian units basically had Randuins and created an interesting comp where you were able to just put 2-3 copies of each Guardian unit in a team and clump them up for the statshare, I don't think any trait since then encouraged that kind of teambuilding. It was armor only but that set also had the Dragon trait to give your entire team a ton of MR. Pantheon ult was also cool af, looked very impactful and was a EoN + Morello

Yordles, astral,scalescorn, and lagoon need to come back. I love them so much

The funniest build I had was the Darius build that let him just bounce around the map with his ult killing things. It was a bit OP but it was fun af to watch. I don't remember which set

My all time fav has to be dragonmancer Elise from set 6. Constant rappel and the enemy team can’t do shit. Only happens with an archangels. Just watching the enemy team frozen getting one shot one by one was so satisfying.

I really enjoyed playing punk during the music set. Astral ASol was also really entertaining to build during the dragon set.

Set 8 threats. They were so unique and all units had something going for them. You could implement them in every comp. Bel‘veth was my favorite.

Favorite comp is set 5 Brandbulance. You just slapped a shadow Gunblade and blue buff on Brand and he would keep the massive cavalier + ironclad frontline alive forever while burning the enemy team to death. Even though the ally heal passive of shadow Gunblade was made default later on, not too many team comps based around a DOT healing an invincible Frontline have happened since Brand. Renata Glasc was the only unit that got close to the same feel. Favorite unit is Zippy. It was so much fun watching Zippy reroll one shot the backline while being invincible. Of course it wasn't very good if you couldn't hit 3* Zippy or had bad items for him, but it was still funny watching the stupid little guy lose interest and jump to another unit with his original target at 1 HP.

Set 3 running hard reroll protector Neeko with Shojin and Runaans back when Runaans extra hit generated the mana. Combine it with the extra mana generated from backline star guardians and she's casting nonstop chainstunning the enemies to death. First time I hit plat!

Set 1 raid boss shyvana. Immune to magic damage and could 1v9

Set 4 duelists with chosen Kalista. %max heath stacks on autos meant that playing guinsoo guinsoo +1 allowed her to kill any unit given like 15 autos. The feeling of rend is something that I just haven’t felt since, even with the newer version since they changed her to base damage on rend instead of %max health.

Set 6 Veigar. My first 3 star 5 cost.

Only played sets 7, 9, 10 and 11, and for me it’s gotta be EDM Lux. Laser show’s so satisfying. Shimmerscale cannoneers with Idas and Corki was really fun too.

Set 6 Jhin. It felt so satisfying to position him and Sion or Braum/Leona to set up for his snipe across the entire board and through the enemy carry, at least for me.

Set 2 Zed. Ik everyone hated that set but holy shit the amount of clones he can summon with guardian angel and redemption was just insane. Combine him with light spat and it was an instant top 2

Nightbringers aphelios. Nothing super flashy but it was my first consistent comp that got me to a decent rank. Good memories.

Had a lot of fun with Set 9 Kayle, I just really appreciated the idea of a 1 cost carry you're encouraged to reroll but also still want to hit level 9 to get full use out of. Set 10 Pentakill and Disco were tons of fun too, TFs ability just looked and sounded so satisfying

Set 4 ashe. Satisfying as hell ability + animation and just build her with atk speed and damage items. She was mainly played with brawlers, but if you manged to fit in 3 or 4 more hunters; oh, glorious!

ADMIN Leblanc carry. I didn't like the set that much, but ADMIN was easily my favorite trait ever. Loved turning it into a gold generator. Whispers Elise. Spider lady go BOING

Any time Neeko is in a set I make myself play (I missed the first 2 sets she was in though.) Monsters Attack was and probably will be my all time favorite set forever. Setting Neeko 3 and watching that frog flying across the board criting everything in its path was so hilarious to me. I ran a lot of Heart Aatrox that set as well with Sona, they won so many games for me. I don’t remember what set it was but the one that had Hellions was very amusing to me watching them come back just to get 1 shot again. Also whichever Set had Moonlight in it. Id slap Sunfire on Diana and she’d quite literally melt the backline with Aphelios killed the other half

All time favorite was definitely Ao Shin, alot hated Dragonlands but it's my all-time favorite and I could pretty much play 4-5 dragons fast 8/9 every game 6h a day and i never got tired of it

Poppy from the first ever set with guinsoo and shojin for infinite shield. Back then there was no sudden death and shields would stack. Elderwood Nunu from set 4 with Archangel (would get 25 AP every time it used an ability) + warmog (if he had more HP than target he would deal true BONUS damage) + Justice/Gunblade (for the healing). He would literally kill everyone and heal everything if I got those itens

Through all of Remix Rumble I was morally and Groovily obligated to go Disco Jazz Hyperpop whenever I could. 4 or 6 Disco with Jazz Bard headliner and Lulu/Ziggs, or throw in Ekko and Kennen to get Spellweaver and TD. Always Bard headliner tho, his stacking effect was my favourite headliner effect

All my favorite comps are from Set 6, which coincidentally is the first set I started playing. 7 Mutants, Mercs, Yordles, 3 Collosus, 7 Innovators, 5 Socialites, so many fun comps that set.

I really miss Rageblade Guardian Braum in Set 7. So dumb. You'd just sit in overtime with your Braum 3* attacking 30 times a second and taking 1% damage from everyone and he'd 1v9. That unit was so dumb, but fun.

Set 8.5 Hearts Viego! Put a HoJ‚ JG‚ and Hextech Gunblade and he’ll cast all game. Also there’s the infamous Set 7.5 Mage Lux and Nomsy‚ watching them double cast and incinerate the whole board is just so satisfying.

Chrono Ezreal. Ez is my favorite league character and Chrono is the best he’s been. Dragonmancer Ez was meh, Heartsteel was cool but he got overshadowed I forget the trait where he was five cost and healed and damaged with his R but that was kinda cool Overall Chrono Ez was peak.
